During long travels, it comes to the point that what matters mostly is the quality of customer service. The looks of the carpets can be overlooked, so to speak. (The pun is intended). I did have some communication problems making reservations in this hotel through their central reservations office, so I addressed the upper levels of management of this hotel directly. They usually know 'what', they know 'how', they take charge and solve problems. They communicate with customers on a higher level of professional hospitality. Meaning that they listen, they are understanding and friendly, they respect and value you as a regular guest. I have to genuinely thank the Executive Assistant to the General Manager Ms Falco and the Reservations Manager Ms Piotrowski for making my latest stay at Hilton O'Hare a very pleasant one. I received a better rate, a bigger room (I had about five pieces of oversized luggage), a complimentary full breakfast, and free bottles of water. (The latter is a common hospitality feature in this hotel). I was also very warmly greeted by the Front Desk staff Margaret. Such things matter -- this hotel made me feel truly welcome. As a long-time Hilton Honors member, I have stayed in it multiple times over the years, and this stay was perfect. Thank you all very much! All the very best and see you next time. Collapse
If proximity to the airport is key, this is a great hotel. Otherwise, check out other properties nearby.

This is an old hotel - there is no two way about it. But if convenience and proximity to the airport is important, then this is your place to stay. I was disappointed by the old rooms and minimal renovations in key public areas however was pleased to find a great gym at this airport. There are newer hotels nearby with shuttle service so if you have a little more time - try one of those out. Otherwise, just know what you are in for here... Collapse

Everything was fantastic, my employers two year in a row meeting. Location is awesome to different needs of amenities you may need for yourself our others in your group. Not far at all to the Ohare A. P, entertainment convention centers, eating, social, parking. The staff is outstanding, form entering the circle to check-in and park, (Robert) was great in any of our needs. The reception party employees, from servers to bar worker, hard workers, very pleasant, ballroom staff for the meeting managers, are get down to work, hands on management! All servers from breakfast, lunch, in between breaks outstanding, housekeeping to my room great! The general manger from Sharon, PA. out working with the guests, even brought us to the stairs, and gave us open door service. He even remembered the next day to ask us how are walk was to the 7th floor. Another member ANNA from Palermo, IT checked me in, so accompanying, and sincere...book this hotel, you should not be disappointed! Collapse

I stayed here one night due to an early morning departure. Having stayed at the GH DFW a few times, I was looking forward to stay at the Hilton ORD thinking it would be in the same class. I was wrong. The check-in line was long and slow and the front desk staff seemed disinterested. The property itself is a bit worn. When i got up to my room there were several room service trays with dirty dishes outside the door. Surprisingly, they were still there when I left in the morning. The room itself was in dire need of renovation. It was worn and cramped. This hotel is ok for a night but I wouldn't want to be there for 2. The property is good for its easy access to the terminals but that's about it. Collapse

This was our fourth stay at this hotel. This time our flight arrived very late and we didn't want to deal with waiting for a hotel shuttle at midnight. Landing at Chicago O'Hare and being in bed within 30 minutes of touchdown is a very wonderful thing! Our top floor room had a great view of airport activity (we are Avgeeks!). The room was comfortable and well appointed as always. No criticism. The reason for only 4 stars, not 5 as in previous reviews was a lack of front desk staff both at check in and check out. The Hilton Honors desk is not of much use as there was either nobody there or a longer wait than the regular queue. The other reason is the breakfast buffet. The price went up considerably and the quality went down since our last visit. It was very disorganized, the number of choices fewer and very difficult to get the attention of staff if anything was needed. No doubt we will stay here again in the future if the price is right and we have either a late arrival or early departure from Chicago O'Hare. Collapse
