The Budapest Hilton is in a great location. It is near the train, metro, and parliament. It is attached to the mall. The breakfast is delicious. Choice of pastries, eggs, meats, cereals, coffee, juices, yogurt, fruits, and more. The hotel is quiet. You might hear a nearby ambulance. Great customer service. The rooms are spacious. Free wifi. A blow dryer in the room. Coffee and tea at the lobby and in your room. A tub and a shower. A nice television. I stayed here as part of a globus tour. Most of the guests seemed to be part of a tour. I did see a few business travlers. Collapse

Unfortunately Hilton Budapest City hotel’s rooms are unsatisfactory. Although it is a 5 star hotel with above average rates, surprisingly slippers are only given by request at reception. Air conditioning system is very noisy and the noise does not go away even if you turn it off. Technical service and housekeeping teams do not work during nights. Receptionists have to deal with all problems. They tried to help however as they are not from technical services they could only offer poor solutions for the noise problem. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel. Collapse

Visited Budapest a few weeks ago and stayed at this hotel. Executive room was very spacious, gym was well equipped, lounge had plenty of drinks and snacks. The breakfast was as expected from Hilton standard with a few charming touches (honeycomb/ local food). Location is fantastic for seeing sites around both Buda and Pest. We actually combined 2 self walking tours from Gps my city and ended up walking 25km day 1. It's very easy to get into town and everything is within walking distance. Would recommend to try the local resturants and Chimney cake! We were slightly dissappointed with our evening meal at Hilton however the staff were fantastic and it was probably due to poor choice our end. Check in was efficient and friendly and we would definitely stay again. Quite the charmer. Collapse

We thoroughly enjoyed the Hilton Budapest City, located on the Pest side. It is located in a great spot adjacent to bus/tram stops and a major train station. It is not an especially scenic location, but that was fine with us. It is only a few blocks to the river and it is about a 20 minute walk (straight shot) to the Great Market Hall on the south end of the Pest side of the river, a distance that looks far greater on a map. (If making that walk, take one direction through the city (aim for Vaci street) and the direction home along the river.) There are numerous restaurants around, mostly on the road which leads to the river. The hotel room and bathroom were very clean, spacious and true to the photos. Linens (sheets, duvet, towels) were very nice (largest bath sheet/towel I have ever seen). Bathroom has a walk in shower and a separate tub. Amenities in the bathroom included shampoo, conditioner, gel soap, lotion, shower cap, nail file, Q-tips, and hair dryer. Glasses provided in main room. The breakfast is divine and is a full buffet of breakfast and lunch-type items. Hot items included scrambled and soft boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans, vegetable medley. Cold items were luncheon meats, numerous hard cheeses, lox, kippers, kielbasa, cabbage salad, vegetables, fruits, cheese spreads, cereals, yogurts. Also included were teas, coffees, juices, fresh honey (in the comb) and jams. There was a varied bread assortment and about 5-6 pastry varieties. It was all delicious. You can access the West End Mall through the lobby. The mall is just like any mall in the U.S.A. Nothing Hungarian about it. One odd note: when we checked in, the desk clerk said WiFi would only be available for 24 hours, but it was a strong signal for the three days we were there. Hotel website states free WiFi. The hotel is very 'American'. Everyone spoke English. I gave it 5 stars for what it provides, but it is not a 5 Star luxury hotel by US or European standards. Collapse
