Hiltons can be hit and miss, but this one is a hit. The location is excellent with an U-Bahn station right outside and a short walk to Checkpoint Charlie and plenty of shops. As a Diamond member of Hilton HHonours, I was upgraded to an Executive Room, paying only €97 per night, which gave us access to the Executive Lounge and free breakfast in the Executive Lounge on the ground floor or in the dining room on the first floor. The breakfast on the first floor was the best of any hotel I've stayed in for a very long time with a huge amount of choice and excellent quality. We were unintentionally so well nourished that we didn't need any lunch on some days. All the staff at this hotel are very friendly, particularly the reception staff. We noticed a genuine wish to make guests feel happy and welcome, both in pre-arrival correspondence and during our stay. I would definitely recommend upgrading to an Executive Room, which gives access to the Executive Lounge and inclusive breakfast. It's a nice place to relax in the early evening, with free booze from 6pm to 8pm, although it is popular and consequently can become crowded. The rooms are well fitted out, including power sockets each side of the bed and even a British power socket at the desk. The safe is spacious enough for a large laptop. The television has not only BBC World, but also BBC1 and possibly BBC2. The wifi is 9Mbps downstream and upstream and didn't require re-authentication at any time during our stay on 3 devices. The bathroom is compact but well-designed. I will definitely stay here again, especially if I get such an excellent price. It was the best value for money I've had at a 5* hotel anywhere in Europe for many years. My only criticism of the Hilton is minor. A PDF on the Berlin WelcomeCard official web site lists all the hotels where the WelcomeCard can be obtained, but the Hilton concierge denied this and was unable to supply the accompanying red booklet necessary for discounts at museums etc. He advised us that we could obtain the booklet at a tourist office near Zoo station. We couldn't find the tourist office and so we went into the Waldorf hotel (same company as Hilton) to ask for directions. The Waldorf's concierge gave us the red booklet that the Hilton's concierge should have given us. I hope that the Hilton will remedy this minor deficiency. Collapse

Stayed here with business for a conference. Service was of a high standard, and breakfast good. The bar area downstairs was very nice and location excellent. I found the room very comfortable but a little spartan in decoration. It was a shame that the pool was closed for refurb/fixing during the morning I wanted to use it. I would have given 5/5 review but for the fact that no complementary waters were given in the room. I had to use a bottle from the mini-bar and I think it was charged at €6.99 (either that of €6) - this is a complete rip off. I have now joined the Hilton rewards so next time I will get water inc, as well as free internet instead of having to pay €15 - again a rip off! In context, I am away as I write this review, staying in another 5star hotel - free internet and complementary waters provided. Collapse

The best Hilton I've stayed in in Germany. Friendly efficient staff. The location is great. Close to the concert hall, ten minutes walk from Checkpoint Charlie, 20 minutes to the Reichstag on foot. Great shopping on your doorstep, superb bars and restaurants within five minutes of the hotel. Well equipped rooms, ours did not have a view over the market but they are available. we were there during a busy conference week and over the weekend. Breakfast service is excellent and they cope easily with a very busy weekday hotel. Lovely pastries, full continental and cooked breakfasts , fresh fruit, just about everything you could want for breakfast. We will be back next time we come to Berlin Collapse
