We had a standard twin room, with a view from the back of the hotel. The room was big enough for two for a three night stay and was was comfortable and quiet. The housekeeping staff were very friendly, in fact all the staff were pleasant and helpful. The executive lounge was useful and a good perk for regular Hilton customers (gold member), although the breakfast in the main restaurant was good with plenty of choice. Some of the fruit was from a tin instead of being fresh which is common in less expensive hotels but there was enough freshly cut to choose from. The location of the hotel was perfect for a short city break, walking distance from the main attractions but one of the hop-on-hop-off busses stops very close. The subway is literally right outside the hotel so couldn't be easier to jump on a train. Collapse

The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of the city, even without using the public transportation you can explore the Brandenburg Gate by walk. The check in was fast and the staff is helpful and friendly. The wifi was free and speed is sufficient. The TV program has quite some choices, not only german TV. The bathroom accessories are basic only, but the bathroom is of good size and clean. The room itself was also quite spacious. The breakfast is ok, although not that fancy when having it 2 or 3 times, coz there is no change in the breakfast choices. However the service is good and there are quite some choices. Collapse
A 3* experience. Not worthy of the 5* rating.

We had been travelling through Germany/Belgium in the week leading up to the Hilton Berlin, having stayed in the Brussels Radisson, Cologne Steigenberger and Frankfurt Marriott (all 4*). In short, these hotels were FAR nicer than this Hilton, and far cheaper. The initial room we were given upon arrival smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, and after asking the front desk, who confirmed it to be non-smoking, kindly moved us to a second room. However, between the rooms that we stayed over the four days, the beds were very squeaky, the bathroom shower leaked after use, and failed to regulate the hot and cold water, on one occasion the door handle fell out in my friend’s hand when closing our room door, and the air conditioning didn’t work. We did request a maintenance check on the AC, but it was never fixed. It was disappointing also that the hotel’s wellness facilities were closed during our visit. We were given no notice of this from the hotel before arriving or given anything by way of compensation until we complained. I was given a tip as an existing Hilton branch Spa member in the UK that they would be closed in August. We largely booked this hotel due to the impressive wellness facilities that I have used in other Hiltons in the UK. I usually do not complain about little thinks like a leaky shower, or loose door handle. I’m good at just bearing with it. But having spent more to stay here than any of the other hotels, and having had the worst experience out of them all, it justified itself a bad review. Let alone the fact that this is supposed to be a 5* hotel. I will say that the front staff and manager were very helpful and understanding, and we were very impressed with the hotel’s central location (20 feet from Stadmitte U-Bahn). Overall, however, the room’s facilities (and general decor for that matter) were clearly old, outdated and in serious need of refurbishment. It is a shame that such nice staff are being made to hold up a hotel of which the rooms clearly need updating. This hotel is a mile away in overall performance against my local 4* Hilton of which I am a member. A real shame. Collapse

Location was very convenient to sites of touristic interest. Traveling Germany this was our sixth hotel and we were pleased to experience typical Hilton quality (although the choices offered in the executive lounge were a bit less than at the Hilton Dresden we still appreciated the option of a location to access simple refreshments). The room was nicely sized and very clean. Breakfast was very nice!!! Nothing lacking. From made to order omelettes to typical breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, fruit, yogurt, etc to special healthy drinks and even champagne (personally, not my ideal breakfast drink - however, I witnessed a guest enjoying at least 6 glasses!). I cannot imagine anyone being unable to find sufficient choices to their liking. Collapse

It's a Hilton, so it's a good hotel (and naturally not too exciting). And this is Germany so everything works (and naturally not too characterful). In fairness, the location is excellent - near to just about everything - and you can walk to everywhere from here. Or get the tube/subway/UndarGrunden/whatever it's called from right outside the front door. The hotel is airy and bright - huge lobby - and excellent Hilton/German service. Highly recommended.
