I recently stayed in the Hilton Hotel, Belfast while attending a conference in the nearby Waterfront Centre. I found the hotel to be quite disappointing in many ways. I had booked a twin room (many months previously) but was given a room with a king sized bed and a fold out bed (an extremely uncomfortable one at that). When I brought this to the attention of the front desk I was told that the hotel didn't have enough twin rooms! A colleague of mine had booked a single room and was given a twin room. However, when I enquired about the possibility of getting a more comfortable twin room I was told this would not be possible. The food in the bar was quite poor and very expensive. Breakfast on the two mornings I was there was disorganised and chaotic. The young staff appeared untrained and unable to deal with the large crowd in the dining room. While some of the staff were friendly and helpful - especially Caitríona at the front desk - others were not friendly and were somewhat curt. I do not plan on staying at this hotel again. Collapse

We upgraded to a suite on the 12th floor, room superb views overlooking the river. Only problem was door banging somewhere during early hours , we reported this twice and they are looking into it. Both nights so this isn't new . Staff very friendly , helpful from reception to the restaurant enjoyed both meals we ate there , choice not huge but decent. We loved the hotel , expensive yes but I upgraded for a suite , but the upgrades for breakfast and dinner was cloudy in information , not clear at all. What as in with what. However was a trip for my wife so excused it . Would stay again Collapse

Stayed for two nights - 17th to 19th April. Really disappointed from check in to check out. At çheck in front desk was understaffed so long delay. Had to pay accommodation costs up front - have not experienced this before. Room not ready at 2.30pm!!!!! Executive room on 10th floor left us wondering what ordinary room would look like! Decor very tired with big stains on carpet. Bed sagging in the middle - very uncomfortable. Mini bar contained cooked rashers and sausages in a decomposing state obviously left by previous occupants - so much for housekeeping. Could only access double wardrobe from one side so it was impossible to get at ones clothes. Bar food and drinks were very expensive and bar area very clinical. Staff generally were extremely helpful and friendly. To really add insult to injury we had to pay £41.00stg for the privilege of parking our car in the hotel carpark and car park attendant was so rude. Definitely will not return to this hotel and really feel that this hotel does not merit it's rating. We felt totally ripped off! Collapse

I had put in for an upgrade that would have cost £91 which was no problem, no mention of this on arrival, we were also kept awake all night be numerous surrounding rooms until 530/6am called reception 3 times they just came up knocked on the door said be quiet and left no attempt to remove the 10 people in the room making exceptional noise, really unhappy with it I've stayed in Hilton hotels in Berlin, Manchester, Austin TX, Phoenix AZ & never have I experienced something as bad as this what was meant to be a relaxing night away over the easter break was ruined & then to make things worse the cleaner is banging the door down at 10am waking us up trying to clean the room when checkout time was 12pm, I have been loyal to hilton hotels for the past 3 years but should I return to Belfast I will definitely be staying elsewhere, even on check-in there was a 20-30min waot just to speak with the girl on the desk who was doing her best on what was a busy day but surely the managment knew it was going to be busy & could have supported the reception staff a lot beter, never had a wait like it in any hotel before let alone a Hilton, extremely dissatisfied Collapse
Extremely disappointing stay! Look elsewhere not worth the money.

I checked in for one night for my birthday and an event I was attending that night. When I checked in most employees were wearing "Trainee" name Tags. I was given a room on the second floor. When I entered there was a strong stench of Urine. When I looked in the bathroom I felt the smell was coming from the shower curtain which obviously needed replaced. I quickly left my bags and went for dinner in town. When I returned to the room to get ready for the event I noticed a chocolate sweet on the floor between the beds. (I had a twin room). When I looked under the beds they had not been vacuumed at all there was also 2 blueberries under the other bed. (I have photos). I called reception annoyed and they apologized. It took about 45 minutes for a member of housekeeping to come upon inspection he said he would get a vacuum. He then proceeded to vacuum my room while i was trying to get ready for a night out for a full 25 minutes. (very annoying). The sink in the bathroom did not drain properly due to the stopper not working but at this point I had no time to complain again. Upon check out the "trainee" receptionist as stated on her name tag did not ask me how my stay was instead was more concerned with ensuring I signed my credit card bill for 2 drinks I had charged to my room the night before. Overall an extremely disappointing experience especially for the money paid. Breakfast was just OK. Staff didn't seem to care. There were a few nice members of staff. Collapse
