Open bowl of nuts in room on arrival - I'm allergic (life-threatening). Water damage in bathroom. Cracks in ceiling. My room card did not work to access the executive lounge during my stay for 4/5 days. Room was dusty after a few days (no cleaning during my stay?) The wifi was very slow and disconnected continuously. The alarm clock was set to a completely wrong time (several hours and minutes off). No electrical outlet within reach of a mirror (for drying hair or styling in front of mirror). I definitely expect better for the price I paid (ca 300 Euro per night). Collapse

I arrange 2 business summits yearly for a group of CEOs and have been doing so for the past 10 years. I would rate this hotel in the top 3 of all hotels we have stayed. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the hotel is very clean, the location is great and the views of the canal and marina very enchanting. The bar was designed by Ralph Lauren in a nautical theme and is exceedingly comfortable and enjoyable. Would stay there again without hesitation. Collapse

I can't say enough about the Hilton Amsterdam. The hotel is in a quiet location along one of the beautiful canals that are part of the make up of this wonderful city. It is a short walk from the tram (5 line) Gerrit van der Veenstraat stop. The staff is great! Very friendly and helpful. The room was big and very comfortable for me and my two sons. We were here to take in the culture of the city. We picked the Hotel because of the quiet location and nostalgia (John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed here for their famous "Bed-In" for peace) the breakfast was awesome plenty of option and all delicious... The hotel is off the beaten path from all the action but you can easily get to where the action is by Uber, tram or a nice walk... We chose to walk as much as possible wanted to soak it all in... my only complaint would be the Executive Lounge, it was small and always over crowded during our stay. We were offered drink coupons for downstairs because of the over crowding... I think the hotel should consider extending the lounge since they have the room on the roof of the hotel and would make for a more enjoyable experience for their customers... But other than the over packed and small Exec Lounge the rest of our stay was top notch and I highly recommend this hotel. I know I will be back this time with wifey... Collapse

Writing this in the hotel because there is little else to do. We are travelling with a baby and would normally have a drink and watch a movie in the room late evening while the baby sleeps. Not possible here; we have a mini bar but no movie channels or paid movie options on TVs. All that is available in English is a couple of BBC channels and a couple of the USA news channels. No subtitled options either. The room is comfortable with everything that you would expect from Hilton, a little dated but still very nice. The food in the restaurant was not great, pretty bland but the bar food was very tasty and good value. Staff are all very attentive and pleasant. Overall, some good, some not so good. Collapse

The hotel was magnificent. spotlessly clean, the views were amazing and room was clean and welcoming. The garden area was really nice to sit out and have drinks. They offered food which I ordered one night as my partner was ill. Wanted something quick to eat , took about half an hour for my order to be taken had to wait ages to get a menu. just would've been a lot quicker had the waitresses had been more attentive, would usually leave a tip but not this time. The wait was ridiculous I almost walked away. Given it was not very busy I just wasn't happy with the service. Everything else was ok Collapse
