We had a wonderful week at the Al Hamra Hilton through British Airways Package. Everything was good - the flight, transfer in nice limo, hotel. We chose a Garden View Villa which was wonderful. It was large, airy, quiet and had a very peaceful view over the gardens towards the beach. Every morning we opened the window doors to the sound of chirping birds - lovely. The beach is immense and there are loads of sunbeds under parasols. The temperature at this time (early March) was perfect - 25-30 c and there was always a lovely breeze on the beach so we never felt we had to hide under the sun shades. We chose the All Inclusive package. The food was mostly good in the restaurant. We usually only had breakfast and dinner and there was always a good choice. The staff were very friendly and on the whole we had a great stay doing exactly what we wanted to do - walk on beach which is about 1 mile long, paddle, swim a little, read our books on a lounger, as well as taking the bus to the Dubai Mall for one day in the City! I would have liked to be able to take a similar bus to Abu Dhabi too. There are two pools but we didn't use them. There were quite a few kids on holiday but because there's so much space we didn't really see much of them (except at mealtimes but we soon learnt to ask for a quiet table). We would recommend this holiday and would go again. Collapse

Me and my friends where in Ras Al Khaima to spend the weekend. Decided to come and try MaiTai for dinner. The one who served us Catherine, thank you for making us feel welcome. Plus points for the live band.. makes the whole place more relaxed and inviting. And of course Le Chalet beachfront restaurant where we had our lunch. Shout out to the most welcoming and approachable chef Ivan and the waiter named Rodel. And also to Patty, the guy who always say habibi is so friendly. Apart from the good service they are the real champion, they made our whole experience extraordinary. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the food and of course the excellent and kind service. We will definitely would want to come back. Collapse

We liked basically everything about this hotel (except for the pricing of the all-inclusive package which we then chose not to take). The rooms are partly in the main building, but also spread out over a big area in villas with approx. 6 rooms in each. We lived on the ground floor of a villa and had our own terrace and a shared backyard. The terrace was perfect for lunches while our son was napping in the air-conditioned room. Our room was comfy, fresh and big. We had no problem fitting our son's crib in one corner and there was still plenty of space to spread out. The hotel offers a couple of nice restaurants for dinner and the room service options were nice for lunch. There are two pool areas and both have a kids pool. Only drawback was that the water in the pools was cooled down to the extent where smaller kids started freezing after just 15-20 minutes in the water. The hotel has its own beach, too, and while we were there the sea water was significantly warmer than the pool water. The Al Hamra Mall is a 10-minute walk away and it offers more options for lunch/dinner. There is also a good supermarket in the mall and even a liquor store (yes, you can buy alcohol there). Collapse
