This is a good hotel but several things left me disappointed. First, the good: location (close to Emirates Palace) and across from the beach; the beach club itself (great spot for families); the rooms (clean and comfortable); the staff (helpful and engaging). The things that left me frustrated: the wifi (horrific - too slow for FaceTime and consistent upload speeds of 0.9 Mbps and download speeds of 0.4 Mbps, just awful and impossible to get work done); the breakfast buffet - decent, but nowhere close to the Intercontinental and expensive at 120 Dirhams; TV - rather limited international programming. I wanted to give this 4*** but it took too long to logon to the internet to do it! :) Collapse

Good for the price and location but really needs a revamp Staff very good, unfortunately some guests were not and don't adhere to the dress code in the executive lounge. Good selection of restaurants Pool ok but jacuzzi was a bit cool and need to go to the pool via the underpass If it was 700 dirham a night id give it 3 stars but it was only around 400 so cant expect perfection Collapse

I had to attend a conference in Abu Dhabi. While this hotel requires a taxi ride to/from the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), but my choice was based on the fact that I travelled with my family, and we extended our stay for a couple of days. We arrived from the airport in a rental vehicle, and were promptly attended at the entrance. Valet and self parking are both free of charge for hotel guest (we used the valet). Our luggage was taken care of, the check in was prompt (pre-prepared). We booked an executive suite that could accommodate us including our two adult daughters. As a Diamond HHonors member I was granted an early check in. The quality of service and the speed was impressive. We asked at the front desk for more towels (originally the suite was furnished by towels and toiletries for 2 adults), and they were brought to the room faster than we could arrive by elevator. This was with all other requests. What we enjoyed, was that the suite had two entrances, so we did not collide with our daughters, in particular with my early morning departures. My family enjoyed travelling around the city attractions, such as Grand Mosque, Ferrari World, museums -- for what I left them the car, and used a taxi. There was always a taxi in front of the hotel, the prices were reasonable (for trips to ADNEC and back). The location on the Corniche allows you to explore an interesting part of Abu Dhabi on foot or a bicycle -- the hotel has its own bicycles rental. Obviously the location of the hotel on the Corniche cuts it from the beach, but there is a connecting underpass and a private hotel beach on the other side of the Corniche road. It comprises also several catering options, including a cosy restaurant, and a very good spa. The Executive Lounge (accessible for occupants of executive rooms and suites) was well served, comfortably with a nice view of the seaside. It served breakfasts and afternoon refreshments, and light refreshments and drinks throughout the day. The hotel has several restaurants, we decided to vary between them every evening, and there is a Vienna café in the lobby. When we needed to book tickets for attractions in Dubai on-line, the concierge staff helped us with that in the Business Centre -- a trip to Dubai with a rental vehicle is easy, the drivers are disciplined and careful. Once in Abu Dhabi, I would advise everyone to take a trip through the country side of the emirate. We went to Al Ain and continued to the mountains to the Omani border (due to insurance issues, you cannot take currently a rental vehicle from Abu Dhabi to Oman). Other day we made a trip to Moreeb Dune. There are many things to see in the emirate, don't think only about shopping malls (still impressive). Collapse
