We have just returned from a 2 week family holiday here . We booked through jet2holidays and could have been placed at either Tenerife or Cristian sur . We stayed in apartment 51 and our balcony overlooked the main road right on top of the 24hr mini-market this was no real problem only a slight noise at night . The kitchen consists of a fridge/ tiny freezer , oven , 4 ring hob , sink , crockery, plates etc .... the main problem was the beds !!!!! I have never slept in a bed so hard ( this is just a personal opinion some people like hard mattresses) .The room has no air con which is something they really could do with having since temperatures were in the 90s. You can hire a fan (in hindsight we should have done this) but they were only little desk sized fan which in order to have any affect you need about 3-5 in each room because it really was very very warm and humid. The pool area was very nice , there was the usual problem with sun beds people waiting from 8:30 am for them when they don't get unlocked till 9:30 am reserving sun beds then not using them all day . Not having sun beds wasn't really an issue for us though as we found the grass next to the pool very spongy and comfy to lie on ( in my opinion better than the beds ). Los Cristianos beach is about 15 mins away ( easier to walk to than home from as your walking uphill ) however I recommend walking for an extra 2 mins to las vistas beach , we found this beach a lot nicer . The sand at the beach is very very hot almost impossible to walk on so flip flops are a must . There is a taxi rank right across the road out side Tenerife sur . Once you get onto the front next to the beach you can walk right along up to las Americas which is worth visiting. The 2 main issues I have towards Tenerife as a island is EVERYONE smokes , which as a none smoker with an asthmatic daughter this proved very difficult to avoid also every where you go your Pestered to death to go into every restaurant which became slightly annoying! All in all we have a lovely holiday and would return!! Collapse

We've just returned from a 2 week holiday at Cristian sur and you do get what you pay for . We arrived and the Room was expected and over looking one of the two pools . The complex is clean , tidy and well maintained . The complex is in a very good position in los cristianos , with many bars , restaraunts and supermarkets near by . A lot of the Apartments are privately owned and can be rented at Atlantic Horrizons on the complex .The only thing I can really complain about is the sun beds at the pool , unless you were down before 9 you couldn't get a bed . Some people went down at 7 oclock to reserve the beds , which were Locked up Till 9 . A sign at the pool says you cannot reserve beds otherwise your towels would be removed , didn't happen . The complex need to inforce this rule to stop this happening , if nobody uses the beds for 1 hr they should removed the towels .. Collapse
Basic but clean.

Nice complex. 2 pools. Bar/restaurant. 24 hrs supermarket. 10/15 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to restaurants. Bar staff exceptionally friendly. Could do with just a few more sun loungers. Place was spotlessly clean. recommended

We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights in apartment 59 located at the back of the complex above several bars. The apartment was very spacious, relatively clean and had most of what we needed for a self catering holiday. The rooms could do with modernising but they were OK. There were some down sides to our stay and I appreciate these may not be the same for everyone. In the apartment directly above ours was a private dwelling. This apartment was having some serious renovation and the work started around 8am and would be on and off during the day and continue until 11pm. This was every day apart from the middle Sunday. The bars below are very noisy in the evening and that was every day well past midnight. Fortunately when all the doors and windows were closed in the apartment it could not be heard. The complex is quite nice and the staff do work hard to keep it maintained, however the place does need an investment boost in its maintenance budget to bring it back up to scratch. The apartment had all the items we needed for self-catering, but there were some issues. The kettle would only plug into certain sockets non of which where in the kitchenette area. (we used the bathroom socket and put the kettle on the shelf in there) the toaster worked but again we had problems with sockets. It could be plugged into the socket in the kitchenette area, but you had 2 places to put the toaster..... Right next to or on the sink drainer, or on the gas hob. The hotel has a restaurant which was a bit dearer than places outside the complex, but the meals were very good. The restaurant closes around 11:30pm but the downside could be if your apartment is near the restaurant, many people sit in the area with their own drinks until 3am some occasions and can be very noisy. There are several shops at the complex and all are reasonable priced and with most items you may need. One is open 24hrs although slightly more expensive than the others, but comes in handy for late night snacks or milk/water for a cuppa after clubbing. The patio doors are not secure, even when locked they can be lifted and opened very easy from the balcony. Every evening we placed a large chair at the doors. Many items you may expect as standard aren't and have to be hired such as Hair dryer, safe, room fans, wifi, TV remote. Most are around €15 each for the week so if you wanted them all it could be very expensive. We only hired the safe, we used our data roaming for Internet access and most bars and restaurants provide free WiFi to reduce data usage. We found that if you kept the bedroom door open then you didn't need a fan at night. We didn't watch TV during our stay and the missus went without the hairdryer (bless her) During the last few days of our stay there became a real bun fight for sun loungers and the best spots around the pool. I was up early a few times to go for an early run and even though the sun loungers were not unchained until 9am, people were out there at 7:30 with towels at the spot they wanted or stacks of towels on top of a stack of loungers, one man was even sat under a parasol in a patio chair he brought down with him, I counted over 30 people waiting for loungers and most had stacks of towels to claim for other people. As soon as the chains came of it was bedlam and within minutes they had all been claimed and then the place was empty again as those people went for breakfast or even out for the day. The hotel has a No reservation of sun loungers policy but they don't enforce it and that's part of the problem. There are 2 pool areas but they are only maintained by 1 life guard who walks from one to the other around every 30mins. People from other hotels were using the pools and sun loungers which caused a few tensions between guests who had to sunbathe on the grass because of the lack of loungers. Some positives are the housekeeping service is good, the location of hotel is great for a short walk to the beach or town. There are plenty of local amenities and lots of restaurants and bars. The pools are cleaned daily and all the staff are very friendly. Taxi services are located across the road. Collapse

Really lovely apartments in great location only problem we had was getting a lounger by the pool. People would be queing up half an hour before they were unlocked and then god help you if you set yours up in someone else's spot. Was a very very large family there probably 5 or 6 apartments of them and we did feel quite intimidated by them . Not nasty but obviously been coming for years and rule the roost if you get my meaning. Collapse
