- Upon checking in reception didn't advise me they were taking a £50.00 pre-authorization which I would not receive back in my bank account for up to 7-10 days after check out. - I had to ask for bath towels every day as when the room was made up they only left hand towels. - No privacy curtains only heavy black out curtains. Not great when all the rooms face another room dead on. - First night ordered a hot starter on room service which they delivered as a cold ham and rubber cheese baguette (baguette was stale with no butter or margerine) the main course was cold and three were no condiments. - Second night the room steak was perfectly cooked however he chips were cold and my peppercorn steak sauce was a jug of gravy with pepper in it, again no condiments and no steak knife either. - Service charge added to all items even if I went to the bar myself and had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come and serve me. - continental breakfast was ok good selection but cooked sausage and bacon either under or overcooked every morning. - king size double bed was 2 singles which drifted apart in the night and the duvet was 2 single duvets in a double cover Collapse

This looked a great hotel when I booked on line. It even looked great when I pulled up in the car park, got my bag out of the car and walked inside...... Then I experienced the service, or lack of it!!! Despite checking I could check in late morning no rooms were available. Not a problem as I was off to an event so just wanted to leave my back, be checked in and not use the room until I returned late. Computer said no - I waited over 2hrs until 12.30pm and wasn't able to check in on this basis. In the mean time I spent some time in the bar where the bar staff didn't know how to pour a pint of anything.....I ended up teaching 3 of them how to pour a Guinness !! I left my back, got a receipt, departed to my event knowing a return in the early hours still necessitated a hotel check in. In return I left my Uber cab only to be assaulted by four "guests" from a wedding event. No assistance from the hotel security staff. Check in then took me 30minutes as the receptionist was busy arranging taxis for wedding reception guests, I got to my room at 2am. My bag which I was told would be in my room wasn't, I called reception they told me it was.....checking myself it wasn't so a trek back to reception. At reception it was like a poor version of the chuckle brothers and only after another 15 minutes was my bag recovered.......from the left luggage room. Now who would of thought that !!! As I walked away from reception I was delighted that the receptionist used a number of profanities to to express his feelings about me to a colleague! On a positive the night manager was kind enough to knock on my door at around 2.30am to apologise and offer to discuss some form of recommence the next morning. Next morning as I checked out surprisingly no record of events and nobody willing to discuss. Never will I go there again and absolute joke of a hotel !!! Collapse

I stayed at this lovely hotel for work purposes. Upon arrival you park in a large car park that has plenty of spaces. Reception is very appealing and you can see that care has been made when designing the interior. Reception staff were great - no issues at all. My room was located far away but they directed me very well. The room was fab - very clean and well presented. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in may I add. I used the gym facilities which were minimal but used my ingenuity and created a great little workout. The pool was nice too - with sun loungers located on poolside which was a nice touch. Food was good - I ordered the spag bol which tasted wonderful. Breakfast was also nice - usual beans on toast but cant complain. There seemed to be a lot on offer at the buffet. Best bits - cleanliness and aesthetics, food. Worst bits - small gym, location isn't ideal - but still fine. Collapse

Room was excellent, service in the bar could have been a bit quicker but staff very friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and great value- however the sausages were a bit cheap and would make all the difference being of slightly better quality.
