Stayed here for 2 nights for a business trip with 7 colleagues Checked in at 4pm an aside from an assumption of a shared room from the receptionist with one of my female colleagues and a little longer check-in time than the other receptionist no issues My room was on the 4th floor it was standard and included tea coffee making facilities, shower etc nice touch with the sliding doors for the shower/wardrobe Hotel has a gym which myself and colleague used 3 treadmills, cross-trainer and bike it could benefit from few more heavier weights and maybe a bench press but served the purpose Breakfast was served 6am-10am and consisted of bacon, sausages, potatoes, beans, tomatoes and scrambled eggs with pastries, fresh fruit and coffee/tea and juice usual toast and cereal and the waffle maker this was a nice touch and added something different to breakfast nice touch having takeaway coffee cups for those in a rush only gripe would be no other egg options poached or fried but that's a personal one for me Would stay here again it's close to the train station/metro and city centre High quality hotel for a mid-level price Collapse

We stayed here for two nights at beginning of March. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, warm and cosy. We had a lovely view. The beds are medium firm. Breakfast was a large choice with tasty food and you can make your own waffles. I was on the fifth floor. Couldn’t fault the hotel unfortunately on Friday evening there was some loud music from a bar somewhere pounding away until at least 2am which kept me wide awake followed by a group of shouty men returning from their party around 3am. I finally slept at nearer to 4am. Having said this I would stay again but my advice would be to stay higher up or on the top floor to avoid the pounding music from the bar. Collapse

Came on Friday for my husbands birthday , we had been before but was really disappointed but gave it another go cause £94 per night with breakfast was ok . You do have to park a canny walk away and at a cost of £13 for 24 hours . We checked in early and our room was ready , got to room on 3 rd floor and saw it was a connecting room with an inch gap at the bottom of door plus right next to noisy lifts ,I’d asked for a quiet room !!!! Anyway went back to reception and spoke to a lovely boy called Reece who straight away moved us to another room , which was really nice with a little couch , clean and comfortable nice towels and super shower . My husband had a bad back in the week and thought it was getting better but that night it totally went and we had to spend full night in the hotel room with him laid on the floor we got up at 6 and left at 7am ,again the young man at reception was super he booked us a taxi to go to the car park as by now my husband couldn’t walk , and offered to get us a take away breakfast which we didn’t bother with , complete shambles of a birthday but staff at The Hampton were first class . Stayed here for one night on a business trip, and it's a great hotel with great service. The entrance is on the ground floor, with reception being 2 floors up. I read a lot of reviews complaining about this and calling it unwelcoming, however I felt it was a very welcoming lobby with very clear instructions on where to go to get to reception. There are 2 lifts that take you up to reception, or if you want to use the stairs to get up then simply use the intercom and reception will buzz you in. Once checked in, you then have access to the stairs and lifts via your room key. The room itself was lovely, nice decor, clean and well kept. The air con worked well and kept the room cool. Rooms on second floor are on the same level as reception and very quiet. Breakfast was great, with a large selection of hot and cold products, waffles, cereals, and pastries. Good quality and plenty available. The hotel location is very central, with a metro station just outside the door which takes you around the city as well as the airport. The central station is also just across the road. Numerous shops and restaurants are within walking distance, and a shop and restaurant also sit directly below the hotel. Collapse

Stayed here for one night, lovely hotel , nice room & bathroom, however booked family room to find only enough towels & bedding for two., asked reception for more after 5 hours still not done, asked night reception who kindly delivered to room, so needed to make sofa bed up ourselves, not good after a few hours in Newcastle pubs. Our room was right above bar so could here music very loudly to early hours Great location but suggest asking for room at back of hotel. Lovely breakfast lots to choose from. Collapse
