I've always enjoyed staying at Hampton Inns ever since I used to visit the US on a regular basis. The accommodation was always much better than the other motel/hotels of a similar class and I think this was also the case when I stayed at the Hampton Inn at Newcastle. It is very near the station so great for out of town travellers. The room was spacious, well equipped and the bed was firm but very comfortable with good pillows. The shower room was spacious and well equipped with modern fittings that worked well. Complementary internet was available in the room and there was a good size flat screen tv. The breakfast was also good quality with plenty of choices. Overall an excellent experience and I would stay at this hotel again. Collapse

Good stay, clean.... nice.... fitness facility.... overall good. Central and close to trains and the city. Avarage breakfast. Nothing special really, just a plain good stay-one-night hotel. I would go back if I was in Newcastle again...

We stayed here for one night last weekend. As others say don't be put off by the exterior as it does do the hotel justice. Every staff member we met from checkin to checkout were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean, well decorated and had everything we needed. Only downside was we were in a connecting room and when the other occupants came home in the early hours of the morning we could hear everything through the door! Location was perfect, although no parking onsite there is a car park a 10 minute walk away where, if you get your ticket stamped at the hotel, you can get a discount. Would not hesitate to stay her again. Collapse
Very poor service - would not return.

Checked in and informed of breakfast times and room number. Polite receptionist but not very friendly. Room was massive (Queen room). Double bed, desk with computer chair and lamp, flatscreen TV with freeview. Shower was brilliant, shampoo conditioner and bodywash all included as well as hand-wash and moisturiser. The pack in the room did not mention any dining facilities (except breakfast) so walked down Neville Street and found COOP. Came back to the hotel to buy juice at reception and found another guest ordering dinner. When I questioned why I hadn't been told (I advised at check in this was my first stay) and why there was nothing in the room the girl had no answer. £4 for a bottle of Fanta and sprite. Went to my room and plugged in my laptop at one side of the bed and my phone at the other while I ate. Within 30 mins both were boiling hot to touch, so unplugged to avoid a fire. Went down to breakfast in the morning and enjoyed a well laid out buffet (no complaints here) and decided to return to my room for an hour before leaving for a meeting (around 9.15am). Got back to the room to find housekeeping trolley propping my door open, the bedsheets stripped and lying in the doorway along with the towels from the room. Shouted and got no answer so went to reception to ask what time checkout was.....12 noon!!! I asked why someone was re-dressing my room ready for the next guest when I had not yet checked out and the girl pretended not to understand me (I'm Scottish). No apology, no explanation. Checked out there and then and still no offer of an apology. Aesthetically the room was pleasing although found a foundation stain on the duvet cover and the pillows were not very comfy. Stayed in the Holiday Inn further up Neville Street across from Powerhouse a few nights before and would definitely recommend it over this hotel. 2/10 for the whole experience and thats only because the breakfast was good. I'll definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for 2 nights last weekend as part of a large hen party. The hotel itself is fairly new, modern and really central. We had a triple room on the 3rd floor - a double bed and a sofa bed. The bed was comfy, the room clean and spacious enough. The bathroom had a lovely shower. No bath. Shampoo, conditioner & shower gel provided in the shower, all of which were lovely. Hand wash and hand lotion provided in the bathroom. There were 3 mirrors in the room, plenty for 3 girls when getting ready. Air conditioning/heating system in the room, tv with plenty of channels. No hairdryer that I saw though we'd brought our own anyway. There were plenty of plug sockets in our room. We had breakfast both mornings which was included in our rate. Breakfast was spectacular - everything that you could think of available - fruit, cereal, waffles, croissants, cooked breakfast, jams, yogurt, juices. It was available from 7am-11am on Saturday and Sundays. The hotel had a great bar, drinks were reasonably priced and you could get snacks 24/7 from it. Hotel centrally located with everything we wanted within a short walk. All in, fabulous location, great hospitality and I would definitely stay again Collapse
