the hotel is modern and clean rooms are adequately equipped. It is slightly disappointing that given I stay here every week and have done for months with another colleague noone every recognises or acknowledges the reception staff are lacking human breakfast is complimentary according to the hotel policy but prices reflect other hotels of same standard in the area which also include breakfast so feel it could be a much better standard eggs are rubbery. fruit in bowls is tinned pineapple and pear not fresh and have seen it with mould on good bars located under the hotel the central and the Newcastle tap location is handy Collapse

Check in quick and easy, was checked in by a very pleasant gentleman who made sure we knew where breakfast would be served and how to operate the lifts etc, our room was lovely, exceptionally clean and very modern. Unfortunately on our first night myself and and partner struggled to sleep as the mattress was far too firm for us so we went down at around 6:30am to reception after a slightly restless night and spoke with shift manager John who was very understanding and apologetic! He advised that all the mattresses are the same however what he would do is move us to a new room for our next night to make sure and also ensure that house keeping puts mattress toppers on for us to make it softer. Brilliant service!!! He said he will try and make sure its on the same floor so we don't have to move our luggage far and advised that he will get it sorted for later in the day once house keeping have been round in the morning. We went back to our room, freshened up and came down for breakfast which is delicious and there is so much selection and the waffle maker was a lovey touch! We then went to the metro centre, shopping all day and didn't get back until around half 7, went straight to reception and advised we were told we would have a new room ready, the 2 gentlemen on the reception/bar area were both expecting us and was fully aware of the situation and quickly gave us the keys to our new room and advised to call and let them know once were done with the other room so they can service it and collect the keys. Our new room was literally 3 doors down from our current one which we were very grateful for after shopping for about 10 hours!! It made the transition between rooms so simple! And they couldn't have made more of an effort with the bed!! The toppers made the world of difference for both of us that night and we slept like babies! I didn't want to get up I the morning!!! Lol would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would just advise that if you do have a problem, don't suffer in silence as we were not made to feel like anything was too much trouble for any of the staff and they completely turned our experience around for us at the drop of a hat! Thank you :) If anyone is worried about parking, we used the one the website recommends which was very secure with cameras and easy to find and only a 3 minute taxi ride away which cost us £4 (or around 10 minute walk) Collapse

Clean and comfortable room. The only problem is no parking within 5 minute walk other than meters at roadside. The breakfast was very adequate with a good selection of continental and hot foods. Hotel is located in centre of city giving access to numerous restaurants and places of interest. Is immediately opposite the main railway station and so ideal for rail passengers. Collapse

The hotel is a standard business hotel and perfectly fine but we booked it on the basis that it has parking and it does not. The hotel is on a major route through Newcastle and on arrival there was nowhere to pull in outside the hotel, we drove past and into a loading bay (presumably illegally) and I walked back to the hotel to enquire. At reception I was given a map for public parking about half a mile away. Yes, the hotel has a discounted rate - £9 rather than £13 but this is for 24 hours only so it ended up costing £14.50 for our stay. No idea how it would work out if you were there several days. It is about a 10 min walk and luckily we didn't have that much luggage but in the rain it was still very unpleasant and not what you expect when you pay a premium for a hotel with parking. We have stayed previously at the Copthorne where the car park has a lift into the hotel and you are provided with an exit ticket so if you are travelling to Newcastle in a car I recommend staying there instead. Or staying at one of the many cheaper hotels and paying the extra £4 to park at Times Square. Collapse
