MY husband and I booked a weekend break here through Great Little Breaks, and we were not at all disappointed, in fact we had a fantastic time. The Staff are excellent, special thanks to Alex, Diane, Hannah and Lorraine and to Simon the Chief, who made our weekend so special. Flitwick is a lovely mellow red brick manor in a wonderful parkland. You arrived and step into a lovely reception hall with a loving warming log fire with the wonderful smell of woodsmoke and you are immediately at home. We had Room No 7 (Hesse), which was a huge room with a lovely large sleigh bed, beautifully decorated and very well appointed. The bathroom is state of the art, very clean and you have lovely White Company complimentary toiletries and warm fluffy towels. The shower was warm - so for me that was my complaint, as I love really hot water, but my husband found it fine. Dinner on both nights was superb, the waiting staff were excellent and perfect in their approach to everything. We were truly spoilt we had sweetcorn chowder and twice cooked goats cheese soufflé starters followed by guinea fowl and hake (the fish was sublime) main courses followed by a lovely light rum and orange bread and butter pudding, washed down with an excellent bottle of Pinot Noir on our first evening. Our second night at dinner we both had the scallops (mine with sweet potato, as I am allergic to lentils) Our main courses were Rump of Lamb and guinea fowl, which was wonderful and for our desserts my husband had the cheeseboard and I had the black forest roulade with Chantilly cream. We washed all this lovely food down with a bottle of merlot and then we retired to the lounge. The lounge had a lovely coal fire burning and it was lovely to sit and sip an after dinner drink and while away the hours in these lovely comfortable surroundings. If you want to stay in a lovely cosy comfortable and warm hotel with excellent food and wonderful staff then this is the place to go. Thank You For Making Our Weekend Relaxing Break So Special. From the moment we stepped into the Manor the friendly atmosphere & service was excellent. The log fire greeted you together with the friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We ate in the restaurant on most evenings but sometimes we had the bar meals. Our room was at the very top of the Hotel called King Charles which had a small sitting area & a large T V Very nice toiletries were supplied. As we were staying because repairs were being carried out to our house we know the area but lots of guests visited London as the Train Station is only a short distance away & Bletchley Park is 8-10 miles . Afternoon Tea at the Manor is also too die for If in the Summer you can enjoy the most beautiful grounds that the Hotel stands in. . Well done to all your staff. Collapse

I took my fiance here for a night away.We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent, service was quick and efficient. In the morning we had a hearty breakfast before our drive home.Breakfast selection was fantastic, plenty to choose from.My only gripe would be that I saw black grout in the corner of our shower and some off white grout between several tiles, as a housekeeper myself my eye was attracted to this but other than that the room was perfectly clean and we enjoyed our overnight stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the meal was fine but everything just fell a bit short of perfection. The decor was tired and shabby although the building was clean and warm. The side lights by the bed could not be accessed except from a wall switch by the door. The room was cramped with little storage space but the bed was very comfortable.Access for wheelchairs almost nonexistent and both the drive in and car park had a very poor surface. A little attention would help enormously. Collapse
