I'd read lots of reviews prior to our stay and they are mixed! We are just on our way home from a 4 night stay so this is my review:- Hotel - is clean and tidy, the rooms are clean but basic, they lack plug sockets and we had to unplug lamps to use sockets, which meant the room was quite dark. There is a mini fridge in the room and on the hotel description (on the beach) it states these can be filled on request! Upon requesting we were told to get drinks from the bar to put in it. The bar closes at 11, which Is early, the all inclusive ends at 11, but as the bar completely shuts you don't even have the choice to buy yourself a drink! Resulting in stock piling drinks really! We were told the bar opens until 12 in the summer! (This is June!) Food - it's basic as all inclusive is, no signs near food so it's a case of guess the food at times, not helpful for the member of our group who is a vegetarian really! We think she ate chicken! There is a lovely snack bar, however on all inclusive you can't have this! The snacks on all inclusive are ham sandwiches on white bread and fruit! Drinks are ok, we drank lots of tequila and gin! Only 1 drink per person though which is a pain! Pool - its a fair size, plenty of sun beds and no issues getting one, it's €10 deposit for a pool towel There's no music round the pool but we took our own! Probably annoyed people but no one complained! The hotel has recently changed hands and when we mentioned some of the rules (1 drink mainly!) the bar staff/waiters agreed with us! The hotel does have coach trips arriving daily, these didn't disturb us! The group of American students were hilarious! The hotel is for the more mature guests, we were on a 40th and think we entertained everyone (sorry!) Some of the staff are lovely and friendly others are miserable! We'd go back! Although we heard rumours that the hotel is going to stop the all inclusive which would be a shame! There is a definite 'hierarchy' of guests though, all inclusive are bottom of the list, buffet school dinner meals, paid guests get table service for meals and the snack bar during the day, and the guests on the coach trips get their own area in the restaurant! Gemma said if Steve were there she'd go back! Collapse

Spent one night at the start of a tour of the region, basically just a night stop to start the tour. Good views over the bay, and nice views from the bar/pool area. Staff were not as friendly as in other hotels in the region. Room was quite dark and basic. Bed not very comfortable, but bedding was clean and for one night, it was ok. Best part was getting the bus up to Nijas, a beautiful village very close by, well worth a visit and evening meal. Collapse

Me and my mother stayed here on a b&b basis, for 10 nights. Our room was clean and well furnished with a mini fridge that worked! I had wifi throughout the hotel which was great! The pool area was so beautiful, relaxed and clean, it was never that busy and always had sun beds available. A couple of family's with children arrived during our stay which was welcomed as the hotel was relatively quite I would say has a lot of over 50s staying and there isn't much going on. Good points: bar staff in particular Javier was fantastic, helpful and friendly along with two other gentleman who's names I didn't get. I found the ladies working here to be more unhelpful. Busses run to Mijas (5 mins up the road) and to Fuengirola (10 mins) for a price of €1.55 pp. Taxi costs around €12 back from Furngirola. Mijas is beautiful and great for sunset photo opportunities. A beautiful peaceful location, not a lot around but easily accessible. The beach in fuengirola was amazing!!! You pay €5 for your bed for the day, but it's worth it the beech is maintained and cleaned and you get an umbrella, table and the beds are nice. Also people coming around while you relax with things to buy like fresh fruit, cocktails, beer, and a Thai lady who offers half a body massage for €10 which was amazing! There is a cocktail bar opposite the beech called Hollywood! Greta service, amazing cocktails and good prices! Bad points: No entertainment at all so nothing to do in the evening, the hotel should think about adding this. No music by the pool - this I feel would make a difference. Management are all over this hotel, which sometimes made me feel on edge, maybe cause they never smiled! (Apart from one with a small beard he was friendly) Hotel bar closes at 11pm - A shame as we spoke to a few guests while on our stay and they all mentioned the bar closing early. On the hotel website, they advertise an indoor pool, sauna and gym - This is NOT open! And apparently hasent been for some time, luckily I didn't fancy attending the gym this holiday I would have been disappointed. Not enough Barr staff!! They were always so busy and 9 times out of 10 I waited at the bar for 10 mins sometimes with no staff visible, if I was all inclusive this was have frustrated me. In between: the coach drop offs - this didn't really affect us too much, as we weren't all inclusive, but at one point around 30 people arrived and we found ourselves trapped in the middle of the coach guides meeting with them all (we had to sneak out of the group) Overall a lovely stay with 30 degree weather, beautiful setting and great waiting staff. I would return but got a shorter staff like a couple of nights ☀️ Collapse

After discovering this hotel on a "Classical Spain tour" with Riviera we have returned every year, as we enjoyed the peaceful location the service, the food, especially the breakfast and midday bar meals. The coach tours were regular but did not disturb the peace and quiet during the day. We have just returned from an 8 night stay and the changes by the new owners are destroying the overall experience. There are now many more groups coming and going, some of which are different collection of very noisy youngsters of various nationality who completely dominate the pool. The food standard has deteriorated, less choice on the breakfast, cut backs on the content of the midday snacks, service hit and miss some days good others less so. Functions at weekends, weddings, birthday parties, etc impact on the service and quality of food even further. So unfortunately this ' little gem' is no longer and is becoming a casualty of a large corporate hotel chain. Collapse

The hotel is look beautiful outside, up on the hill, nice landscaping, swimming pool. But inside is so outdated, the furniture in the room is so old. The bathroom is dirty and ugly. It is a really bad experience.
