Lovely hotel and perfect for our needs. Had a garden room which was great, lovely views over the lawns and pool and amazing birds in the trees outside. Adult pool superb next to the beach. Service excellent as was the breakfast but £93 for a bottle of house rose by the pool just too rich for me.....£12 for a pint of lager too! Would return though without doubt. Collapse

This hotel is a good 45-60 mins from the airport. It's on the beach next to Skydive Dubai with nice pool and gardens. We had a suite and club room and were there on a half board basis. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will forget the half board and just book thce Club room with breakfast as afternoon tea is available in the Club Lounge and is more than enough for lunch. The rooms are styled in a bit of a 30s style, large and very comfortable, but your not there for the room. The suite was huge as you would expect with great views. There are lots of comfy beds around the pool and at the beach. There several restaurants and bars in the hotel. We used the Italian, the pizzas were huge and one between 2 would do. The Buffett for the half board was really good quality food; the pool bar and the Polo Lounge. Alcohol is no more expensive than any other major city hotel and we found the barman in the Polo Lounge a really pleasant young man. There is a nightclub in the grounds at the beach that is very popular for its after brunch party and at night, my daughter who lives here goes. On Fridays and Saturdays it competes with the nearby Zero Gravity nightclub with a monotonous beat so we sat by the pool and you just don't here anything. Sunday to Thursday its quiet on the beach. You can walk to 'The Walk' in a few minutes for the restaurants and shops, the Marina is also accesble on foot. Eating out is no more expensive than London. There was an issue with check in on Friday that many guests experienced and it's for this reason I didn't give it 5. We arrived at 9am and knew that rooms are not available until 3. We had 2 rooms and had called to ask if one could be available. Unfortunately, it was national day and the hotel was busy so we were sent to the Club Lounge on the 25th floor for breakfast. Great views and attentive staff. Our first room wasn't ready until 4.30 and was upgraded to a suite and our second 5.30. We weren't too bothered at 4.30 as we had access to the spa to change and lay by the pool but I got messed about between 5 and finally getting the room at 530. There were other guests in a similar position loudly complaining at staff bragging about their Marriott status and why this was ridiculous but I just don't get what this serves so I arranged to speak with someone the following day. The following morning, the Club lounge manager found me and could not apologise enough and arranged complimentary massages for my family. To my shame, I could not catch his name, Mr Gawdor perhaps, but he and his staff in the Club Lounge are all excellent and very attentive. So the acid test is will we go back and recommend this hotel. Yes to both, the staff were all excellent and the hotel is well placed, not too big and offers a great service. Collapse

Stayed a week with family and friends with this amazing hotel. Our room had a beautiful view with all the famous building in Dubai very nice location just walking distance. Weather was good to stay at the pool area with a clean place, sun loungers all over, towel provided to you and staff will guide where you want to sit. Candice by the spa assisted us to the changing rooms for the sauna, very good ambience for relaxation. She recommended to us the infinity pool if you want a quiet environment and beach which is newly renovated with amazing arrangement grasses in your sun loungers, palm trees and also towel counter no need to get in the pool area. Cocktail party at 6pm be there so you will meet the management, drinks and food is served.Staffs preparing for the decorations everwhere for Christmas, the ginger house was artistic at the lobby level. We just observe one lady at the lobby who greeted the guest sitting beside my husband,we feel ignored by Wheyne, well its okay were not bothered. The housekeeper I forgot the name was very good he leave no spot in our room. Throughout our stay we are Candice took care of us which she will let you feel like a family, a very down to earth person. This is a best staff we met in the hotel though all staff were great but she was highlighted for us. Thank you very much Collapse

We stayed at this hotel for 15 nights (room 2222, 22 floor,Tower A) as a couple in our 40's, no children. We also travelled to Abu Dhabi for the Yas marinas F1 race. Due to our length of stay we got to see how the hotel operated and familiarise ourselves with some of the staff. Not my longest or most detailed of reviews as this is 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back! The review is based on my personal experience during my stay. Plus points 1) Good location (approx 10 minutes from Dubai Marina) 5 minutes from the train station, max 40 minutes to / from airport (65 aed) 2) club package includes free cocktails and canapes (we got upgraded for free as we stayed for 15 nights) well worth it. 3) Food was generally of good quality, plenty of choice 4) nice beach close to hotel, although not enough beds actually on the beach. 5) Club Lounge staff were superb, special recognition goes to Brian........Brian you were brilliant....thank you. 6) Supermarket 5 minute walk away, cash machine opposite hotel. 7) Horizon Lounge, level 3, Tower B was good, nice infinity pool. 8) Good steak restaurant, good staff, the guy from Cape Town was also very good (sorry I didn't get your name). Negative points 1) Reception staff didn't manage issues well (we had a problem with our bill) we were passed from person to person as it seemed some staff were unable to resolve problems effectively. Reception staff took too long to address a complaint I had (still ongoing). Reception staff didn't actual tell you when they'd passed your issue another person. 2) Faint smells of sewage on the 22 floor and ground floor close to Grand kitchen. 3) Resort is next to zero gravity, some days music was very loud and went on to 3am, first time I've been offered free ear plugs by a hotel before. 4) It you don't get to the pool early enough, or the beach you have to fight for an umbrella. 5) Drinks are expensive, £10.00 for a beer, £5.00 for a diet coke, suggest you stock up at duty free. 5.5) Drinks really are that expensive, thank god for ladies night which they have once a week, free drink ladies!!!!! 6) Grand kitchen which is where you eat for free if on the club package was a bit like a canteen, food was not always hot. 7) Hotel uses a company called First Tours for excursions, be aware they are not part of the hotel although they are located in the hotel, the concierge recommended them to us and we later found out we were ripped off, DO NOT use First Tours, do your research before coming out. I can provide details and prices of safaris, game fishing, transport to F1 if needed. Speak to the bell boys outside if you need transport etc as they got us much better deals than First Tours. 8) The infinity pool on the 3rd floor is in the shade a lot due to the surrounding buildings. 9) Concierge desk not particularly helpful. In all not a bad hotel but due to the way the reception staff and customer relations team handled an ongoing complaint, plus my experience of First Tours I can't bring myself to rate this any higher. And I really dont expect to smell sewage in a hotel!!!! Hope you find this review useful, happy for you to contact me directly if you'd like more information. Collapse

Walking into this Marriott chain hotel had me pleasantly surprised. The decor was stunning, the staff were top notch and the service was simply impeccable. Though this was my first trip to Dubai and with a group I don't think it would have been as pleasant without Wheyn. On the second day my roommate and I met this beautiful spirit employee named Wheyn getting off the elevator who invited us to the hotels private party (although we were to tired from our excursion to make it we appreciated the invitation). Who would of thought we would bump into her throughout our stay and this would be our gem guide of what to do at the hotel and in Dubai. Wheyn helped us tremendously with things to do on our free days from signing us up for Marriott rewards, assisting us with booking the Burj Khalifa to scheduling us a car to the sulk and giving me advice about not doing standby for Skydive Dubai (There were no appointments available so despite Wheyn's advice I took my chances on my bucket list dream and wasted a whole day for I was unable to jump. So needless to say Wheyn was right...lol). She was very pleasant knowledgeable and helpful. Overall from the amazing view of the beach and harbor from our hotel room balcony to the 5 star service that we received from Wheyn this hotel was perfect for our stay. Collapse
