I would not rare this hotel as 4 star. Compared to other all inclusive holidays we have had this was disgusting. Do not pay for all inclusive it’s a waste of money. There is no free WiFi unless you book directly with the hotel. The cost is 20 e. For four days. There is no remote in the rooms for the very dated t.v. You have to pay 5eu deposit. We arrived at 11.20pm, so there was nothing to eat, not even water, you have to buy from the machine. The food was the same everyday. The snacks that are included I in all inclusive was a joke. They opened 10.30-12am and 3.30 -6pm. It was the same every day cold chips, left overs from breakfast and nothing else. Oh and don’t go to the bar without your glass or you won’t get served. The walls in the room were paper thin, and people banging and running corridors late at night. Never stay here again. The weather was nice though.p Collapse

A friend and I decided to try and get some winter sun. The hotel was well placed for the beach and local eateries. We were not all inclusive and felt like second rate customers by comparison. We couldn't use the restaurant but were allowed to by drinks at the bar. There was a drunk woman by the pool on Saturday evening who was shouting and swearing for some time she then picked up a chair and threatened to throw it at a member of her group. This went on for quite some time before any staff members stepped. I would not want to take my grandchildren to a hotel that allows that kind of behaviour. The hotel was noisy with a group of school children on our floor who spent the evenings running up and down the corridor and banging on doors. There were signs up telling people to be quiet but this was a waste of time. We weren't there long enough to feel the need to move but I wish we had having suffered very little sleep. The hotel is also located in the quieter side of Lloret so if you want to browse interesting shops and enjoy beach side bars and restaurants don't pick this side. Collapse

We booked this as a little cheapy break before xmas so we went with an open mind. On arrival the hotel does look a little dated and tired but was clean and the reception guy was lovely and had us booked in quickly. The rooms were small but clean and had the same decor as the rest of the hotel, we had two rooms with a double bed and two singles in each. The maids cleaned daily and always did a very good job. The pool area was a bit shabby, the sun beds were sticky and for some reason there were eggshells on the floor?? The pool was freezing and unable to be used which was a shame as there is not much else to do. Food was ok but a bit repetitive which is expected on all inc but we always found something to eat! My kids enjoyed the ice cream that was available for them to help themselves to. The show cooking was a stand we tended to avoid as the food was usually undercooked (bloody pork bones on chips). We used the facilities at the royal star a lot as they had a lovely warm indoor pool that helped to keep the kids entertained and we could get drinks and snacks up there too. We also booked lunch one day to save us walking back to our hotel and that was very similar to the royal beach. The card system was a new one to us, all inc usually provide a wrist band and the cards were hard work, young children didn't understand you must keep hold of your glass or you lose a card and have. O drink, I was forever counting glasses! I understand it saves them having to glass collect but it was a real pain tbh. The majority of the bar staff were ok but a few of the younger ones constantly were drinking behind the bar and were rude, I didn't like the bar man in his 50s constantly asking my 15 year old daughter how old she was and perving. Entertainment was poor, dj Jose a man in his 60s dancing behind a podium to 60s classics wasn't the best, the mini club was basic but they did try their best. In all honesty I would not go back, it was ok for what it was but wasn't great. I saw a review before we went mentioning it being full of old people and thought "nah must have been a one off" nope it wasn't, the dance floor was like a scene from cocoon every night with the average age being 70! At the indoor pool they sat in the jacuzzi all day and had no inhibitions when they all stripped stark naked to change (much to my 15 year old sons horror) Collapse

Stayed all inclusive, Came in late October on one of the HTop Secret Hotel deals, which included free wifi for upto 2 devices ( so worth booking on the htop website). We were notified of our hotel 6 days before we left and I was pleased it was royal beach as had stayed at Palm beach previously and liked the location of the hotel as it was so close to the beach. I must say location is the only thing it beats Palm Beach on as it has very few facilities in comparison. Unfortunately the rooftop pool was closed, food was repetitive and cold and the all inclusive drinks weren't that nice The food was very repetitive and buffet mostly cold. We mainly ate pasta fish and sauce.Breakfast had the usual coffee, juice and cereals and a lovely variety of pastries and pancakes made to order. We didn't eat cooked as this was cold and they never seemed to have any sausages and the bacon looked terrible. We didn't tend to stay up fo the entertainment as the bar was usually full with just one server dealing with the allinc customers while the others smoozed paying clients, this and the fact ANY entetainment didn't start til gone 9 and had kids just running round on stage. On a more positive note the cleaners, restaurant and reception staff were very good and tho we weren't travelling with children there was always daytime activity, especially the fancy dress on halloween. The guests were mainly french an we too were mistaken by the wait staff merci! I would recommend this hotel but be warned , pack your earplugs as the walls are paper thin,we even heard our neighbour snoring. Collapse
