Back around 2 weeks now from our stay in LLoret De Mar - Htop Palm Beach. Had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Firstly, transfer time is great...around 30 minutes after and after a very smooth 2hour 20 minute plane flight...was not bad at all! The hotel is situated on a main road leading into the main town of Lloret De Mar which is buzzing and alive! It is in a quieter area of LLoret De Mar which in my opinion is better for small families and people who don't mind the walk! To walk to the main town will take about 20 minutes. To walk to the nearest beach which is The Fenals Beach will take around 10 minutes (in another direction). When you initally step out of the hotel there is a great supermarket to your right and a bus stop right outside the hotel which is very handy.Plenty of restaurants (one which incudes Crazy Golf, which we enjoyed several times), shops, hotels and a few bars which are not the busiest. The bus stop takes you to various places including "WaterWorld" and "Marineland", which are not too far away at all. Waterworld is about 15-20 minutes on the bus, less to walk but there is no footway in places to enable you to walk. However there is plenty of footway to the main town of LLoret DeMar which is buzzing! Plenty of good food, shops, fantastic beach and promenade. It's a good place for young people in their late teens and 20s but our crew in our 30's plus, with a 10 and 12 year old, enjoyed the day time buzz and the plentiful cafes and shops. A really colourful place to be. I would recommend staying just a little out of it though if you have small children as it can get extremely busy with stags, hens and young people living it up...fair play. The room itself was compact and exactly what you see in the pictures. We stayed in a family room, with 4 beds for 3 people. There is a tv but no English channels as far as I am aware so it was never on really. This was fine as I read and the kids used the wif-fi...which is 20 Euro for the week for each device, costing me 40 Euro for the 2 kids. There was air conditioning in our room which was grand and the room was cleaned, beds stripped, new towels every day which was heaven to me! Very comfortable stay. Not much in the way of entertainment at the Hotel itself. There was entertainment on most nights but the best night of entertainment was when one of the young residents (aged 4) danced on the stage and shared his own rendition of "Gangham Style" which was absolutely hilarious! The bar staff were fine, although there was a language barrier and the bar closed around midnight. You could take your drink out and sit at the pool area until just after 11pm. The pool itself is very small but with a shallow and deeper end.Plenty of sunbeds but you have to be up early to get one. If not you can sit on the chairs,or wait until someone gets up from theirs...which they will do.And people take their towels with them (as a rule) so you will eventually get a bed. The staff were lovely. The maids were very helpful and friendly and reception staff were the same, with good English. The bar staff were touch and go. They are worked hard. One man in particular seemed to be working there from morning until night and he wasn't a particularly happy character but helpful none the less.Food was fine. We stayed - bed and breakfast and there was a wide range of choice, with plenty of fruit, coffee, warm food, bread and cereals. Collapse

Just got back from 10 days all inclusive at this hotel. It's good for the money. My advice: make sure you get a superior room or you'll have no air-con!! The pool is small but fine, food is repetitive and lukewarm at best but there's a good selection for every meal, the staff try really hard to listen and do whatever they can to help, downstairs has been modernised and updated but the rooms are dated. I'd say if you're going to book here, only book a week as it's more than enough time. It was a nice holiday all in all. Collapse

I would second this view. The hotel was aweful. It is 96kns from Barcelona. The hotel is very unclean. Toilets were leaking (mild spray) from the toilets on the above floor. Bath tubs cracked and yellow or rather brown. Standard room has no air con or fan. No landline , no kettle. You have to pay for wifi per device per night. Food was very poor quality . If anything was good about this place it was the staff. Bless them! The staff were helpful and could understand my concerns and frustrations. They tried their best to help me. Everything else was not worth eve. 1 star to be honest. Collapse

Well here we are nearly 5 days into our 7 day holiday and let's just say it hasn't been all bad! As u may have seen of my review of my holiday to Egypt last year (still have nightmares) I am factual and fair; so here goes! To make it easier, I will bullet point with categories! 1. Journey from airport Great. Transfer around 30 mins. 2. First impression Wanted to go straight home again. Told u have to pay for a safe and wifi ( around 50 euros for a week). Then found out no Aircon, around 40 degrees at mo here, so had to spend 40 euros for a 'superior room' to have it. Also local tax but only around 8 euros. 3. Room Superior room was what you would expect amenities wise from the old travel lodges. Student like portable tv with no remote, no fridge BUT IMMACULATELY CLEAN!!!!!!! Aircon rubbish. Cons Looks out onto what seems like the busiest road in the world, 24/7! Constant stream of cars and bikes racing up at all hours and drunks of all nationalities screaming and shouting from 11pm until 5-am. No double glazing so if u are a remotely light sleeper then forget any rest. 4. Pool Very small but very clean. Seating area nice but no where near the number of beds needed and all go by 9am. Rule of no bed reserving with towels not enforced! Rule of no diving or bombing not enforced and, due to size, I have seen a number of near misses. Not safe at times, especially with no lifeguard or staff of any description on duty! Outside jacuzzi shut for last 3 days for what reason? No toilet at pool; u have to walk through hotel. Not too classy and means floor gets wet and slippery! 5. Day entertainment Ad hoc is polite! Shall I say no more apart from pool aerobics and nail painting was cringeworthy. Training and effort needed!!!! 6. Food Great value. Lots of variety and cooked really well. Constantly replenished and so clean. Man serving bar at restaurant never smiles unless u are female but everybody else are so friendly and work tirelessly! Great! 7. Bar Brilliant bar staff bar apart from 1male who people will know if they have stayed here; again, unless u are female! Drinks r nice and daily cocktail on all inclusive! Prob! Tiny plastic cups and only 1 drink per person at a time. Pay for staff at the pool! All inc shuts at 12! 8. Inclusive upgrades Not worth it at all unless u have money to burn! Standard totally fine! Terrible system with cards rather than wrist bands. Just hassle! 9. Pubs and beeches! Left out of hotel and 20 min walk is the main beech! Beautiful! Straight out and 10 min walk is a shingle beech, again beautiful! Loads of pubs and restaurants if u fancy something different! We paid £980 for a week! Not worth that! £750-£800 all-in and go for it! Collapse

Just back from a seven night break. The hotel is clean, the first room I was given was tatty and very old but after paying for an upgrade (6 euros per day) the next room was much better. The restaurant food was fine , if not a little repetitive but there was always some thing on the menu that was good. The staff on the bar were a little surly at times but all in all the hotel was good value. Just maybe worth saying that the hotel is by a very busy road which was loud even at night time with many sirens going past at all hours and to one side of the hotel there is a block of apartments that seem to be used by large groups of teenagers who are shouting and being noisy well into the early hours and beyond. But I know that the hotel can't do anything about that but it may be worth requesting a room at the back of the hotel away from the road and apartments. You get what you pay for and the hotel is a budget hotel but a decent one . Collapse
