We stayed here at the beginning and end of our month long tour of Spain and Portugal and it was a great way to start and finish our trip. The hotel provides excellent service and an elegant ambience. The rooms are moderately sized for a city hotel but the bathrooms are more generous than usual. Our bed was very comfortable and we loved having French doors overlooking the Gran Via. On the first occasion we also had a small terrace. Street noise wasn't a problem as the rooms are very well insulated. The staff were exceptionally helpful to us. On the first stay we left behind my husbands jacket which they carefully kept for us until we returned. We had booked our trip through a Portuguese travel company which forwarded material for us and which the staff passed onto us. They even posted back material that needed to be returned to the travel agency. They were very willing to book restaurants and taxis. We returned to a heat wave and noticed that complimentary bottles of juice and water had been added to the rooms as well as the coffee machine. We felt that this hotel more than any other that we stayed in tried to make us as welcome and comfortable as possible. Collapse

We stayed here for four nights. We arrived around 11:00 am because of our flight. They had a room ready for us in about 10 minutes so we could check in, freshen up and see Madrid. The location is on the Grand Via which is hopping. There in a small sandwich store next door that is open 24/7 which was great. The rooms were clean and a good size. It was close to the metro stations and also walking distance to the Plaza Sol and Plaza Mayor. The Grand Via is where most of the shopping is so lots of stores and restaurants. We needed to call to make reservations for a Flamenco show and the staff graciously called for us as we did not have access to a phone. Also in the afternoon there is water, wine and champagne in the lobby. The hotel also has a bar. The breakfast was good and hot and it was a buffet. When I go back to Madrid I am definitely staying here! Collapse

Myself and my husband travelled to Madrid for a little wedding anniversary break. We wanted somewhere central with easy access to local sights, bars, restaurants etc. This hotel didn't disappoint. Location: perfect right in the central of Madrid and located on the main shopping strip of Gran Via. Lots of shops (a huge primark!) amongst other high street shops. There were plenty of bars/cafes/restaurants to chose from within walking distance. We didn't use the metro whilst we were there as everything was so easy to walk to. Hotel: the hotel was beautiful very classy and welcoming. When we arrived we were offered a glass of champagne which was a lovely touch. The rooms are absolutely tiny but clean and served the purpose of somewhere to rest your head of an evening. Very comfy beds. The hotel bar is lovely and accommodating and serves lovely drinks and snacks. This was a perfect hotel and really central if your looking for a base to explore all the attractions. We got the metro from the airport it's a bit of a mission it took about an hour and we had to change a couple of times but were used to this in London anyway so didn't phase us too much. It was cheap to at €8 euros each. We paid €30 to get a taxi back to the airport. Collapse

The hotel has an ideal location for a tourist. Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza Santa Ana are all nearby. The hotel has an elegant lobby with a bar. The breakfast is served underground on floor -1. It had a great selection of food. Our junior suite was stylish with a small living room and a small bedroom with two balconies. The bathroom was spacious with separate shower and bathtub. Only criticism would be that there were no balcony furniture and no television in the living room. The staff was very friendly everywhere.
