Myself and my husband just returned from a holiday staying in this hotel, we were impressed when going through the garden area and the reception, the male receptionist wasn't very friendly, then when we got to our room my heart sank, as other visitors have said before the room was dark and dull, so i opened the balcony doors and if i thought my reaction to the room was bad, i was sorely mistaken, we were onto a side street and the other balconies across from us might as well been staying with us they were so close so we had no privacy unless we closed the curtains, i must say the room was clean and the staff we always cleaning the hotel but the rooms badly need modernizing, the Hotel is situated in a brilliant place in the center so we were so lucky that Lloret De Mar was a great place to go that we didn't have to stay in the hotel too long during the day. Myself and my wife went for a week and at the age of 47 can say I have never stayed un such a dirty dark room. Sockets hanging off the wall, dirty bathroom and darker than wookey hole. Teenagers normally French running rudely around without a care in the world the noise would also register on the rigtor scale. Food dont eat it. Ready to come home after day 2. Positive meet some nice couples, staff rude also. Collapse

Where do I start? I'll start with the positives.... 1. Staff are hardworking and Friendly 2.The Hotel is in a great location 3. Staff react quickly if you have a problem. The Negatives..... The Room I booked through Love Holidays and read some of the reviews on trip adviser - I wish I'd read more. The images do not resemble the rooms at all. I went with my 10 year old daughter at the end of August. I booked a twin Economy. I knew it was 3 Star and thought it cant be that bad can it? The main part of the hotel is a colonial building built at the turn of the last century - and in the last few decades has had 2 cheap wings added one facing the pool and one facing the street. The gardens and main building where pretty - but look closer and you can see the cracked tiles, flower beds need weeding, - the hotel is in dire need of renovating. I checked in no problem and went to my room.. Coming out of the lift, the carpets are stained, the paintwork chipped and the walls wood chip effect. I was in room 310, i let myself in and my heart sank. The floor covering was very stained, the 15 year old TV was strapped to the wall, the furniture was very old. The bathroom dark and dingy. The decor was a pink and a nicotine colour.. The balcony doors which didn't lock opened onto the filthiest balcony. The railings where dirty, and parts of he wood were rotting away. During the holiday i didn't let my daughter out there on her own. The room hadn't been cleaned either - the previous guest bed was unmade, rubbish in the bin. I stepped outside and asked the cleaner to deal with it - which she did. I have never stayed in a 3 star where you have to hire A/Con, a hairdryer, and the TV remote. I hired the A/Con i asked a couple of times for a hairdryer but there weren't any available so spent the holiday with wet hair after my shower. On day 2 water starting leaking through the bathroom ceiling - this was reported and fixed. on day 7 we I stripped the beds for the cleaners and found the mattress were urine stained and on my daughters bed it looked like menstrual blood stains - I will post the photos. My daughter also pointed out to me the outline of a mans appendage drawn on the wardrobe door.. Again I will post the pictures The Food.... I only had breakfast and it was the same every day. I always found something to eat, but there was no fruit, and the cooked food was swimming in fat. The guests... The hotel allows big groups of kids and their from schools and university to block book rooms. Now i understand why you have to hire everything. I had the pleasure of teens from croatia who on the whole were well behaved. But there were a few who took delight in through their lit cigarette ends / Cans/ liquids of the balcony. My daughter had a lit cigarette land on her, next came down a can - until one of the girls in the group shouted up to them to stop. Another occasion i looked up from the sun lounger to see one of them was spitting off the balcony right above where i was laying. There was elderly guests who didn't need the stress, I met some nice people so its not all bad.. The noise..... Is unbearable in the evening. I didnt have one night where i wasn't woken up. The balcony doors are single glazed so you here everything. The teens are running up and down the corridors screaming banging as teens do when they are drunk, Security did react quickly when I complained about the loud music and singing from the room above me in the early hours. The walls are paper thin. The Staff Are a credit to the hotel - they have to deal with complaint after complaint from guest ref the noise etc. I would imagine they are very tired at the end of the season. The resort... Is great, plenty to do lots of good shops restaurants - especially down by the beach. But some of the rudest tourist i ever come across. The beach is clean and well looked after. The beds are 7 euros. The pool... Is adequate but need draining, renovating, and cleaning. the sunbeds are dirty. I'll post the photos. The hotel... Needs to work out who it wants to cater for - is it a party hotel for teenagers? I guess they need the revenue these schools /university's pay - or does it want to upgrade and become more family hotel? Tips.. If you do stay here upgrade to a suite - they have proper TV's and Aircon - they are located in the original building and have large balconys. DON'T go in the 6 weeks holiday when all the kids are off. Its a shame because with some investment the hotel could be real gem in the guitart portfolio. I wouldn't return, i felt anxious the whole , due the noise, the depressing rooms, the dangerous balcony. Its the first holiday I had where i wanted to go home... Collapse
