Visiting the island for the first time with my daughter for a week's "chill" break, we anticipated limitations to travel around the area because we did not have use of a car. However, the bus services were regular, user friendly, safe and cheap. Puerto Pollensa was our favourite resort with tasteful shops and eating places. The areas we visited were clean and the people friendly. The old town of Alcudia is a delight and bustling particularly at night, with a great atmosphere. The markets in both towns are well worth a visit. Our only regret is that we did not get to Formentor by boat. A trip we planned to take but were too busy relaxing in the glorious sunshine. The Hotel Maritimo was a great base. The hotel was immaculately clean and the services excellent. All the staff we met were very helpful and we would certainly choose this hotel again. Collapse

Stayed here for two nights in mid October cannot fault the hotel and wonderful staff at all . I was lucky to get 5th floor bedroom , so nice and quiet. Clean modern rooms with everything you need . The food in the restaurant is tasty and fresh def recommend eating at the hotel as there is so much choice . I used the spa which was a nice touch when the clouds came over .I had a hot stones massage for 75 Euro which was also very good . All I would suggest is updating the gym which whilst in working order is a bit dated and please offer water down there . The hotel is very close to the beach and the staff are fabulous . Loved it ! This was our first holiday in Majorca for over 30 years so no recent experience of hotel standards here. This is a German hotel which was to a very high standard. It appeared to have been recently refurbished and the room was modern, clean and bright. We overlooked one of two pool areas and had no problem with noise. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was no rush to put towels on sun beds and although not committed sunbathers we were always able to have a choice of available beds unlike some hotels we've been in. I've come to the conclusion it's the Brits who do this annoying thing. The food was excellent with plenty of choice to suit most diets and although self serve the food available was always plentiful. As previous comments we were given a table for the week which worked fine. My only whinge here was that we sometimes had a wait to be served drinks, coffee/wine etc. The reason is because the waiters/waitresses each had their own section of the restaurant for which they were responsible for clearing dishes, re-setting tables & serving drinks. As the restaurant was almost full the poor staff appeared to be run off their feet & doing their absolute best so if you're reading this management please take note. There was entertainment on most nights which was varied & ok, no animation team dressing up & doing slapstick in 4 different languages, thank heavens!! Our other whinge here is something we have found in most hotels across Europe. Since the smoking ban outside seating areas are a free for all for smokers even where food is being served. As it was hot the doors were open in the bar/lounge area so sitting outdoors or just inside was not an option unless we wanted to inhale 2nd hand Marlboros all night. Again, if you're reading management please make outside eating/patio areas smoke free. We didn't use the gymn or Spa area but they looked good. There were 3 lifts all working so no problems here. Reception staff helpful, booked our hire car. Overall this was a really good quality hotel and I would come back but for the location. Situated outside of Alcudia bay there is no prom and is in a fairly built up area consisting of the usual tourist shops, bars, restaurants etc. However, it was a good walk into Alcudia town or 8 euros in a taxi, and not far from Puerto Pollensa which was a lot more scenic with seafront bars, restaurants etc. Collapse

The second I walked in, I had a feeling it was going to be great just by the appearance and cleanliness of the hotel - and it was! We went there half-board as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) for 7 days. Personally, I enjoyed all of the 7 days there. Room service was great - our room was cleaned everyday. The sunbeds and pool area had a nice, calm atmosphere - no too loud or disturbing noises from anywhere surrounding the hotel (one of the things I liked in particular). The area that the hotel is situated in was a family friendly place with many restaurants and shops - you would be okay going self-catering if that is your preference for a lower price. The beach is literally a 5 minute from the hotel and is lovely. Food in the hotel's restaurant was nice but after a few days, it felt quite repetitive and it would have been nice to go out for an evening meal somewhere else. Breakfast had a huge variety everyday compared to some other hotels we have been to! The rooms are either double beds or two singles per room. If you insist on taking children, keep in mind that you are going to have to consider who is staying in whatever room. Entertainment in the night wasn't the best as there were only very few good acts during our time there - especially for the kids, to be 100% honest, I felt as if they were discouraging kids to go to the hotel again. Animation team wasn't greatest for kids either compared to some other places we've been. There is a water park not too far away from here called "Hidropark". The hotel gives you a small discount for entry tickets. We took a quick taxi ride there. - Great for everyone. Overall, this hotel is very good and I liked it quite a bit. However, I wouldn't advise you to take young kids - teenagers yes. NOTE: Wi-fi isnt free here Collapse
