Visiting the island for the first time with my daughter for a week's "chill" break, we anticipated limitations to travel around the area because we did not have use of a car. However, the bus services were regular, user friendly, safe and cheap. Puerto Pollensa was our favourite resort with tasteful shops and eating places. The areas we visited were clean and the people friendly. The old town of Alcudia is a delight and bustling particularly at night, with a great atmosphere. The markets in both towns are well worth a visit. Our only regret is that we did not get to Formentor by boat. A trip we planned to take but were too busy relaxing in the glorious sunshine. The Hotel Maritimo was a great base. The hotel was immaculately clean and the services excellent. All the staff we met were very helpful and we would certainly choose this hotel again. Collapse

Currently in the middle of a 10 night stay. So far ...mostly... so good ....in keeping with previous reviews. Hotel is almost spotlessly clean...rooms are fresh light and airey.....wifi is free throughout hotel...they give you a code to enter per device which you re enter each day.....staff are genuinely kind and helpful as others have stated. Evening entertainment is standard hotel stuff...Food is decent enough...plenty of options to cover most dietary requirements.... A few small caveats to be aware of... 1.The lifts are consistantly VERY unreliable....and small....only 2 out of 3 ever work...basically its easier to use the stairs......except...if you have trouble walking....or..... 2. When there is a 3 hour power cut throughout most of the hotel two nights on a row... where there is no running water...air con...and NO emergency lighting in the stairwells????..(thank God for smartphones!) 3. Dont use the nearest little SPAR supermarket (75metres to the right of the hotel). The proprietor repeatedly over charges on items. EG....he took the label off two items while putting them through the till...then added 10cents here....50 cents there....nothing much....then smiled insincerely at me as if im a numbnut.....but when i politely questioned him on it he initially denied it...then tried to justify it (showing a different price on same item)...i told him id ve paid double of that was the actual price and not his. 'unofficial tourist tax'....then mumbled something (presumably rude)....then grumpily offered pennies back (i refused saying i dont need it....just didn't appreciate the unnecessary disrespect after spending over 80euros over 3 days) There are plenty of other shopping options very nearby which at least offer the treat of honest pricing! Local buses are a great option to get into the main Port and other local areas (about 1.5 miles). Its 1.55euros per ticket. Be careful crossing the road including the side streets....My two year old and I were nearly run over twice by local van drivers driving way too fast along the side service roads....and there often isnt much safe standing room at the bus stops where they are situated between the main road and service road. Overall...I would recommend this hotel....Just thought id mention a few things which may benefit future patrons.... Collapse

We arrived in August 2017, this was our first hotel stay as a family in a hotel (after years of villas and apartments) we were a little apprehensive as we hate queuing for food, getting up early to nab a sunbed etc...but we had little to fear, the hotel was exactly as described and as the reviews before me described. There were no queues to get food (you are allocated your own table for the duration of your stay) the food is plentiful and the fresh fish and meat counter is a great addition, the waiters /and waitresses are all friendly and helpful and really helped us have a relaxing holiday, no matter what time you go to the pool there is always a sunbed (there were 7 of us in our party and we had no problems whatsoever) the bar is fabulous along with the staff who work there. all in all a great time was had by all. This hotel is definitely on our list to return to, as although it was full, it just never felt it! Collapse

We arrived to a great welcome for the reception staff who checked us in with out a hitch. We were given a room on the 3rd floor with a partial view of the lake but overlooking the restaurant, not a great view but the mountains in the distance made up for it. The hotel was exceptionally clean and tidy with a great entrance hall which led down to the lift, 3 swimming pools and a choice of sun beds every morning with no '7am dash' to get a bed...!. The bar and snack bar again was superb with fantastic and friendly bar staff (Gonzalo and Michal) along with the rest of them (whom we didn't get to know that well), the snack bar food again was excellent. The outside areas again were kept spotlessly clean. I would have given this Hotel a 5 star rating but there were a few niggly thing that I feel need to be addressed, these being...the wifi, this was free but access was shocking and kept loosing connection, we never saw anyone cleaning the pools out and some days small bugs and bits of leaves were in the pool and some days, scum was visible in the corners. We had 5 power cuts in our first week but not told the reason why, people were smoking round the pool when there is a designated area for smokers. All in all, this is a fantastic Hotel and we will be definitely stay there again, I just hope they can sort out the negatives... Collapse
