Visiting the island for the first time with my daughter for a week's "chill" break, we anticipated limitations to travel around the area because we did not have use of a car. However, the bus services were regular, user friendly, safe and cheap. Puerto Pollensa was our favourite resort with tasteful shops and eating places. The areas we visited were clean and the people friendly. The old town of Alcudia is a delight and bustling particularly at night, with a great atmosphere. The markets in both towns are well worth a visit. Our only regret is that we did not get to Formentor by boat. A trip we planned to take but were too busy relaxing in the glorious sunshine. The Hotel Maritimo was a great base. The hotel was immaculately clean and the services excellent. All the staff we met were very helpful and we would certainly choose this hotel again. Collapse

We stayed for the final two weeks of the season and were disappointed as the choice of food went downhill as our stay progressed. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for the waiters and breakfast chef in particular. Our room on the 5th floor offered good views and the balcony got plenty of sunshine in the morning and early afternoon. It was kept spotlessly clean by the staff. There was not much in the way of entertainment in the evening so we went for a walk to other hotels and bars. We have stayed in the resort at several different hotels both as a couple and a large family group with children and would not choose to stay here again due to the position; not close to the beach or to the port itself. Also due to the lack of entertainment and atmosphere in the bar we feel that the hotel would suit older people more. The buses were often full by the time they reached the stop by the hotel so we generally walked and on occasion took a taxi when we wished to go further. It was unfortunate that we had booked from 17th to 31st October and then found out from other guests that the hotel would be closing on Sunday 30th October and we were being transferred to Playa de Palma. Definitely a resort which we would never have booked for ourselves! Unfortunately due to a lack of communication between hotel staff and the Thomson Rep we were not informed personally and needed to clarify matters for ourselves. Collapse

Holidayed in October, Third holiday this year at Maritimo and 6th overall, we have already booked two holidays for next year :) says it all. For us it is like going back to visit family/friends the welcome you get is so warm and friendly. I would like to mention that when we were there in October the age group of the clientele does change, but there is still a lot of young people and families, the same goes for June, this will happen where ever you stay, can't say it made any difference to us in fact we made some new friends from Germany and Belgium. In the lifts there was a notice up saying that WiFi will be free next year. There is never any fights for sunbeds no matter what time of day you go down there is always empty beds, three pools to choose from one especially for children. Food excellent as always, Staff brilliant as always, hotel so clean, entertainment you can't fault. Bus on the doorstep to take you where you would like to visit. Can't wait to go back. Thank you to all the staff for making our holidays so relaxing. Collapse

Whilst the hotel itself is very nice and can be recommended if you like the area, which we didn't, there was a major problem with our holiday. We had booked, through Thomsons, from Monday October 24th, arriving just after midnight, to Monday October 31st, leaving late on for a midnight flight back. On our first morning we spoke to the Thomson Rep who asked how long we were staying, only to be told that the Manager had told him that the hotel was closing on Sunday and that we would be transferred to another Grupotel, Taurus Park in Playa de Palma, the German Magaluf. We went immediately to Reception who knew nothing about this. We enquirers again the next day and the Reception still claimed to know nothing. We emailed Thomson who knew nothing about this but they didn't even pursue the matter on our behalf. There were others in the same predicament. Eventually on the Thursday evening Reception told us that we would be transferred by taxi at their expense on Sunday and that the Taurus Park would be told all that we had pre-paid, eg. wi-fi, safe etc. And that they would arrange transfers to the airport on Monday. On arriving at Taurus Park, all they claimed to know was that we were arriving so there was a song and dance about everything else. A right mess all round. Badly handled by the Maritimo, badly handled by the Taurus Park, no attempt by Thomsons to intervene. The only good thing to come out of this is that we know not to go to Playa de Palma if you want a relaxing holiday. Great for the 18-30's and children. We shall not book a Grupotel again. Collapse

We stayed at the Maritimo in October 2016 at the end of thier season. Right from entering the Maritimo you know its going to be fantastic, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the foyer is modern and is spotlessly clean, the rooms are well furnished light airy and clean with a lovely modern en-suite. the restaurant serves a varied and well cooked selection of foods for breakfast and dinner with all dietary needs catered for. we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying there again in the future. Highly recommended. Collapse

We were there in September with 8 month old baby. We liked everything. But few things was disappointing: reception was not always helpful, they did everything we asked for, but they starting doing thing before you finish your question, not even ask for confirmation. for exm: we asked them "is it possible to hire a car?" and they started documentation not even confirm the price. And our baby blanket disappeared after housekeeper, probably she took it by mistake, but we did not ask for it as it was our last day. And not free wi fi :( Good things. Clean and bright room with nice design, hotel looks very nice inside! Helpful and friendly staff in restaurant, lots of positive attention to the baby. Good food selection and every day something new. There was regular hotel entertainments, but we did not visit it. Lots of sunbeds, always can find a space! And great location, less than 5 min walk to the beautiful beach, 2 min to the pharmacy and 3 min to the grocery shop. Definitely recommend it Collapse
