my mum and myself returned yesterday from this hotel. Went for a week from 18th may to 25th. The hotel was nice and in a great location right on a great beach. Playa muro is only a small resort but has got everything you need. Anyway back to the hotel. This is a pro dominantly a german hotel and they get an excellent service unfortunately british guests do not, we might aswell have been invisible we were lucky to get an, OLA! ,in the dining room from waiters and waitresses I ended asking to be moved to a different table because our waitress was so miserable and we felt quite uncomfortable. The maitredee in the dining room did not seem impressed that we had asked to move, in fact any inquiry or request just seemed to be to much trouble. On a positive note the staff who worked at the snack bar where really lovely. This was such a shame as i said the hotel and location could not have been better. Will never return to this hotel. We chose this hotel because we wanted a warm pool and a spa. The 'indoor' pool was quite warm although not very big and the spa pool offered jet streams giving a relaxing 'massage' to shoulders and knees which is what we needed. The outdoor pool was chilly but OK for a quick swim. The buffet breakfast and dinner were great with lots to choose from and the only difficulty was in deciding what not to choose! The staff were friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. Collapse
Good hotel, wouldn't necessarily return though and would 100% not travel with Thompson!

Upon arrival to a grand marble lobby you are greeted by very friendly welcoming staff. The hotel includes free access to the spa (which apart from a small pool was 5 star, especially the salt steam room), an outdoor covered swimming pool, outdoor open swimming pool, bar area, lawn area with chairs and direct access to beach. The hotel you can tell is mainly used by Germans, we only spoke to 1 English person and there was no English Thompson rep on site - which we have never had when booking through Thompson before. Please bare in mind when staying between April - June there appears to be cycling competitions and iron man training in the area, the amount of pro racing cyclists makes you think you're staying in an Olympic park! It can make Road travel quite difficult, and there is no way during this time you would feel comfortable just renting a normal road bike for site seeing as its far to hectic, which we personally found very disappointing. Location - Hotel is located right on the beach which is beautiful but VERY WINDY. We don't think this is a seasonal thing, it's just the location - I have personally returned with laryngitis and had to buy a hoodie due to the intense cold wind at times. Loungers and umbrellas shown on beach are SEASONAL, and only are out there end of May and you have to pay for them - again something that wasn't mentioned to us. Food - the special gala evening was 5 star quality absolutely fantastic, however for the next 3 days we clearly paid for it as the selected was poor. But on average pretty good - although I was served undercooked chicken on one night, and deserts most of the time were the same old bought in thing and hard rice pudding. Rooms - A 4 star hotel shouldn't have a shower over a bath - with no slider rail on the shower, and a stained shower curtain. Very dissapointed as when passing another room they had a proper 'wet room' style shower area which we would have expected, or atleast a shower cubicle. Booking through Thompson we booked 2 rooms with balaconies, but emailed the hotel weeks before to ask for rooms on the 3rd or 4th floor (to avoid noise from bar) and a lateral sea view (which we had heard was the best). We were given instead rooms on the 1st floor with a direct sea view which was in constant shade all day, meaning no sunbathing on the balcony! We did ask to move and they were very nice but the rooms offered still weren't what we asked for. We were charged 300 euros for the apparent upgrade, and when complaining nicely when leaving about it that we were dissapointed we got handed a card by a receptionist an told to email the manager, which we thought was poor as the manager was on site, and could have dealt with it face to face. Overall - unfortunate about the windy location, we couldn't swim in the main pool as there are normally ducks on it who we did see unfortunately relieve themselves in it shall we say!, and also the pool is right by the entrance eight cars etc and overlooked by the bar area. Food generally good, rooms a slight let down (try to ask for a lateral corner room as these seem to have large balconies and the better showers, and rooms over the pool area are normally sunny!) Spa amenity is very good, but don't expect to rent a bicycle from the hotel as we expected as these are for racing pros! Pro Tips - avoid the buses - they really do get crowded and as ever do not run on time and take 4 times as long. A taxi to Alcudia own town from the hotel was 7.50 euros (a must visit very pretty and good market), Alcudia Marina, Pollensa, and Puerto Pollensa are amazing too. Taxi to Pollensa was 20 euros each way and took about 15 minutes - on the bus it would have taken 45 minutes. Climb the cavalri steps in Pollensa for stunning views. For bottled water buy the big bottles, for around 0.90 euros, very good value! Thompson - would never travel again, have always travelled but seems to have gone down market. Coach to airports was in an old coach with poor air conditioning and driver didn't even bother to get cases off! He also went a riduclous route which took 2 hours instead of 1. No rep in the hotel. Got stuck in the little bus on the runway for 30 minutes and then a further 30/40 minute delay on the aircraft. When trying to purchase a cup of tea on board the car machine would not work as they were dealing with new systems! Very very poor never again. Collapse

Almost everything is perfect. Flaws: The cleaning could have been better. We had a hairball and candy paper in the sofa bed when we arrived and the balcony wasn't broomed perfectly. Ducks in the swimming pool... Really?! The beds a bit hard. Rooms in the annex (where we lived) not 4 stars, rather two stars. Besides this, service, food and location absolutely fab. I would love to come back. Collapse
