Party of 9 to celebrate a family birthday. Emailed assistant manager Carl Richardson to request rooms nearby & this was done. Lovely sunny rooms overlooking the pool on the 9th floor. We were all inc well worth it good choice of food & drinks. The main restaurant gets busy but there are signs telling you how to avoid peak times. If you got down to breakfast before 9 no problem. We had lunch in the La Gioconda beside the pool & really liked it. Was never really busy & food was hot & tasty. We dined in it too in the Saturday night. Restaurant had bottle of cava for us & a birthday cake which was a nice touch. Staff work very hard because it's a busy hotel but there always pleasant. Impressed that barman in the Griego cafe got to know our order even on the first night. Large bar catered mostly for spanish who love to line dance. Pepes bar was more to our taste it's been recently refurbished & had a good atmosphere. All in all a good break not far from the airport just take a taxi. Collapse

This was my first visit to this hotel and most certainly wont be the last from the moment I arrived to my time of departure I loved it. Before I arrived I requested a room with a pool view as my wife is disabled, this was done for me , not every hotel will do this so I never take this for granted I had a lovely room that had flat screen and lovely fully fitted wardrobes, lifts were no problems there were only 2 but never had to wait more than 2 mins even at busy times, the dining hall was fantastic with lots of choices at every meal breakfast, lunch and dinner there was always a chef preparing fresh food and freshly made pizza, not your usual hotel fare but real fresh made pizza and at night there was another chef with a freshly made roast, and freshly made bread all drinks self service which was good. The bars of which there are 5 had choice of all local drinks and the staff were fast and always gave you big measures , also if you wanted there is also free nuts and bags of crisps. The hotel itself is spotless and the staff are very friendly, the hotel is very central out front door turn left and the bus stop to anywhere in the area is only 30 yards up the road, if you want town centre just walk down street till road splits and your there, also that's where the train station is. I have only one problem with this hotel an that is of my own making in that I only booked for 5 days wished I had booked for longer I loved every minute of my stay and will defo BE BACK AGAIN wish it was this year but only dates spare to me are November and December and unfortunately it is closed during these months. So a big thanks to Carl and his staff for making my holiday so enjoyable, see you all again next March really wish it was sooner. Collapse

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Marconforte Griego hotel in Torremolinos. Firstly, this hotel is much nicer inside than it appears from the outside because parts of the building needs repainting.Inside is lovely, very smart and so clean. The staff all work so hard, especially in the dining room, and the lady who serviced our room did a great job.It is a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the beach, so maybe not suitable for the less mobile as the hotel courtesy bus only operates during the summer. We went on an all inclusive basis and we are so glad we did as the food and drinks were excellent, with a good selection at mealtimes and even snacks available most of the day as well. I had read that a lot of this hotel is in the shade quite a lot so I requested a pool view sunny room, we had a lovely room on the eighth floor in the newer part of the hotel and we had the sun all day.The only drawback to this was that the hotel is really short of lifts and as the hotel was very busy with Spanish pensioners we had to use the stairs both ways a few times, I will request a lower floor if we visit again. It is a very warm and comfortable hotel with a great animation team and good evening entertainment but quiet spots as well, the hotel also has a nice shop and library. If we return to Torremolinos we will try to rebook this hotel. After a quite stressful 18 months we needed a break. Found this hotel the price was right, flights good and reviews seemed ok (always take the moaners with a pinch of salt especially when so many reports are favorable). We were the only people to be dropped off so check in was very easy. We had requested a low room by e mail, (never received a response) but got exactly what we had requested a pool view on floor 1. The room was basic but very clean, TV with BBC 1 & 2, ITV and channel 4, really only watched breakfast news (wifi was good). First morning were really put off by the queue for breakfast, just sat outside and waited until it quietened down. Food was lovely, great choice, sausages yummy and I do like my tomato juice. Freshly baked bread was a bonus. Never used the main restaurant at lunch time, used the restaurant by the pool which had a limited selection but was very quiet (paella type dish, 4 pastas and sauce, bread, salad, burgers, kebab meat, pizzas, fruit, cakes and ice cream, wine and beer) plenty for us. Draw back for people with mobility issues could be the small flights of stairs albeit around 6 (stair lifts are provided). The whole hotel is very clean, staff are exceptional. Very close to the main square, supermarkets, bus stops etc. Evening meal, we tended to go early to avoid the crush, if you could not find something to eat I can only suggest you usually eat in expensive restaurants. Fish, beef, lamb, pork, rice dishes, salad and again wine or beer. Bars - one opened at 10am, you can help yourself to hot water, tea and coffee or bar staff will serve you what ever you desire (crisps, peanuts and muffins are free for all inclusive guests). Another bar opens at 7.30pm and a further bar at 8pm until 2am (all inclusive ends at 12). We did eat out once had tapas at a little bar, go to the McDonalds sign turn left and follow the street till you reach the corner on the right is a bar/restaurant think is was Le Jardin, tapas 2 euros each, cocktails 4.50 euros, the margarita was exceptional, loved this place, give it a try. Would we return, no doubt in my mind we would love to. Collapse
