Hotel location was very good ie Grand Hotel Majestic, very near to Powder gate, Palladium shopping mall and the Old Town. Loved the Christmas Market in the old town square, very pretty, paused to have a hot chocolate and cheesecake to keep us going - prices were quite reasonable considering we were in a capital city! Lovely trip to castle area, within reasonable walking distance though lost signage on the castle side of the Charles Bridge so ended up walking further than originally envisaged. Gorgeous goulash in bread basket in Castle cafe washed down by mulled red wine. Collapse

I spent a week at the Hotel Grand Majestic Plaza in Prague. The room itself was large, clean, quiet, and well maintained each day. The front desk staff were particularly helpful, gracious, knowledgeable, and friendly. The Atrium Restaurant was quite good. The breakfast included with the room was stupendous -- fresh, incredible variety, catered to tastes from around the world, 06:30-10:30 hours, and in a terrific setting. A brunch like this one would cost me $25 a day in Seattle. The hotel location in Old Town made for easy access to the sights of the city. At 66 years old, I had no problem walking from the Hotel through Old Town, across the Charles Bridge, and to Mala Strana. There is also a bounty of tour/concert/etc literature in a rack in the lobby, and the front desk staff can sell you tickets for many of the attractions -- very handy. My first trip to Prague and the Czech Republic, and am glad I had such a hotel for my stay!!! (High performance free WIFI -- I streamed with no problem). Collapse

Shower gel, liquid soap and body lotion dispensers, soft fluffy towels. The room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was everything you could wish for with plenty of variety. The hotel is in a perfect location, 2mins from a huge shopping complex and a 10 min walk to the river. Collapse

The hotel is very beautiful and I would giive it 5 stars, but the front office staff are corrupt. The moment you step in, the hotel lobby smells of luxury and our room was great with all the comfort. On our first evening, we asked the bell boy for a taxi to get to the railway station. He organized it and we paid by meter 120 Crown. The next day we requested a taxi at the reception and the receptionist told us it will coast 200 to 250 Crown or even more, I than asked him if we could take a taxi at the stand just 100 meters away from the hotel, he told us its not recommended by the hotel, we than told him we took a taxi the night before for only 120 Crown, he than said that's the risk we have to take. We had a late night and we returned to the hotel about 2am, and we asked the bellboy if we could get something to eat, he immediately told us that he will get us pizza for a service charge of 200 Crown. We walked outside of the hotel and about 10 meters away there was a all night convenient store, and the guy at the store told us, that at the front of the taxi stand, on the opposite site there is a all night pizza place. By the way, at an official money change in Prague, you have to pay a commission of 20%. Collapse

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and found it very comfortable and in a great location. The rooms are clean and well equipped and the reception staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay and there was a great deal of choice and it was all tasty. We had one dinner at the hotel but would recommend people go out and eat to make the most of your stay. The hotel is in the Old Town of Prague and is very convenient to get to all the major attractions. Collapse

We stayed for four nights and found the location excellent to walk to all the old town sights as well Charles Bridge. We opted to catch public transport to Prague Castle, and again the close proximity to Namesti Republiky made it easy to catch the train a few stops them jump on a tram up to the castle. Our booking included the buffet breakfast and it was a fabulous offering. Fresh to order omelettes and waffles otherwise scrambled and boiled eggs along with beans, tomatoes, sausages, bacon, bread and pastries, porridge, muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit and of course juice and coffee/tea. The breakfast team kept it all full and available, it was outstanding. Our room was on the first floor and we were initially worried, but it's actually pretty quiet and although the rooms aren't huge it was enough space for four nights. The bathrooms are excellent, including a tub to soak aching feet after a full day exploring the city. TV has great selection of English speaking channels, a bonus! And the wifi was fast and reliable. We found all the staff really pleasant, willing to help and reliable. Our only two minor grievances were (1) even though we hung our bath towels for reuse the room staff kept replacing them (despite the usual stickers for the environment) - but many hotels do this, and it's just our small way to help the environment. And (2) the heating seemed far too hot and no amount of changing the in room air con seemed to help, reception tried to explain but to. I avail. Opening the window was hopeless because being in the first floor above the entry the smokers staring at the just foul up the air. We weren't completely uncomfortable, again just our preference. We would stay here again. Collapse
