We recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights for a wedding in Lake Como. The Hotel is impressive looking as you arrive by ferry, with the ferry terminal literally outside of the hotel which is great for traveling to other parts of Lake Como. The hotel has a grande reception area and several restaurants and bars. The check in was efficient and friendly and everything about the hotel and the facilities was explained on arrival. The room was nice with a large bed, we had an impressive terrace with table., chairs and sun loungers with a lake view. The mini bar drinks are very expensive. The gym was well equipped for a great workout and the breakfast was also of a good standard. The pool is underneath a tunnel across the road and has magnificent views of the lake. Main issues were only pool bar open during the day no other bars, limited sunbeds so you need to get their early on a hot day otherwise you have no chance. Service at the pool was poor, did not really want to serve and not efficient. The bar in the evening again service was poor, not friendly or personable, it was job for them and nothing more. For the price of the hotel and apparently 5 star I would have expected a better standard of service from all of the staff (some were but most were not). Collapse
Hotel with good lake views.

We arrived here for the final 5 days of our honeymoon and this was our opportunity to chill out and relax.Upon arriving, check in was easy although the only available parking was the hotel parking charged at 20 euros a night which did seem steep. We had booked a superior room with lake view which we had chosen for a treat on our honeymoon. The receptionist took us up to our room on the fourth floor and showed us our stunning view. Upon looking around the room I was a little disappointed to find there was only a shower rather than a bath and no bath robes provided. Looking out our balcony (which was no bigger than 2 ft, just enough room to stand) was much smaller than the floors below. Air conditioning wasn't great in the room, slightly noisy and not very powerful. However, the bed was comfy and the view was incredible. Within 10 minutes of us arriving, champagne and fruit had arrived at our room with the words welcome written in chocolate. If I hadn't known otherwise, I would have assumed the hotel had sent this up to start our honeymoon. However I did know a friend had organised this because she couldn't attend our wedding and had planned for their to be a note to go with this which wasn't delivered. This was a little disappointing. The hotel is actually the other side of the road to the lake but a passage underneath led you through to a jetty with a private pool, bar and sun loungers. This was a nice area but not particularly large and got busy by lunch time if you want to spend the day here. The staff were generally friendly. I was particularly impressed with the restaurant staff and the spa staff who were always very helpful. Our room was cleaned every day and a complimentary bottle of water was left each day, which we appreciated. We visited the restaurant twice and despite not booking, they were able to find us a table. They have a different theme each night but also had their a la carte menu and we found the food tasty and fairly affordable. There is a second restaurant by the lake which is more fine dining. We booked for this on our last night and was glad as the food was exquisite. We had breakfast come with the room and whilst there wasn't the spread that we had experienced at other hotels on our honeymoon, the food was generally good and set us up for the day. We also visited the spa on the last day and wished we had booked to have it included with our room to visit more frequently. It is only small but very relaxing and we found there was only 2 other people in there during the 2 hour slot we had visited. I also had a massage which I can highly recommend. This is generally a good hotel and we enjoyed our time here, perhaps just a few tweaks to make it wonderful. I would say there is not much else in Moltrasio so if you were planning on going out lots during the day, this location may not be the best. Whilst there is a ferry stop opposite the hotel, ferries are not overly frequent. Collapse

It didn’t take much searching to come across stunning images of the Grand Hotel Imperiale in the tiny town of Moltrasio when I was searching online. Selecting this hotel was basically one of the best decisions I made this summer. As our ferry approached the town of Moltrasio, the Grand Hotel Imperiale was visible right away. Guests lounged on the pool deck at the water’s edge drinking Lambrusco, children jumped off diving boards at the adjacent park, and guests lazily read the newspaper on the lawn. It seemed like the perfect place to unwind and relax. And it was. Luxurious, comfortable and packed with amenities, this is the perfect hotel for families or couples. The food was incredible! And despite how busy the hotel was (mid summer holiday season), the service was excellent. The restaurant Imperialino was simply spectacular! We had the 10-course dinner with wine pairing and it left us positively stuffed. Such incredible food and wine. I would eat there again in a heartbeat. After the hectic summer I’ve had, the relaxed but opulent vibe of the hotel with the backdrop of the Alps was just what I needed. I hope to come back to this hotel every summer! Collapse

My wife and i took a week off to go to Lake Como few weeks ago . we were recommended by a fried of our to this beautiful hotel . Upon our arrival we met the hotel manager Mr Franco . He is a great , put us in to a newer remodeled lake view room and send us gift package upon our arrival. The staff are very helpful ,location is excellant ,breakfast is great. Franco booked us great restaurants every night ,he also recommended a great hiking trail near by. Ferry terminal is just 100 feet away for the day trips,we hardly used our rental car. The The hotel is 5 min aways from Villa D'east . I travel to Italy 2 or 3 time a year and by far this hotel is the best value and service i have experienced in my recent trips. Franco is a great manager and he makes you feel at home. Collapse
