Hopefully would be back again with family to explore more Collapse

I have stayed at this hotel and other hotels in UAE as part of my Job life couch and journalist i write articles and I take pictures this is part of my job and I’m an an American citizen living in Germany but coming from Arabs roots. so I travel a lot around the world so it was my first visit to UAE and I was excited to visit this part of Middle East unfortunately I was disappointed for the hotel standers when it comes to the front office area I haven’t seen any Arabic staff and the front desk agents were not as expected I haven’t feel I’m in Arabic country agents were clean shaved not Arabs haven’t feel the traditional and standers of the country where men should have trimmed beards I think as travel or tourist everywhere travelers should sense the culture of the country and I haven’t seen that at your hotel I understand this is the hotel standers but this hotel is located in Middle East and should follow the traditions of Middle East where a traveler like me should feel in Arabic country many hotels in Europe are having front desk agents with facial hair so other Arabs guest can also feel home I think this should reconsidered . Great stay overall, the facilities are in line with whatt you would expect, the spa area is amazing with great staff and the refurbished rooms excellent. We had never before experienced issues with our key card for the first few days, which caused frustration. The matter was eventually adressed in a professional way by M. Shashank whom we thank. I would like to thank also Ram at the breakfast buffet, always in a good mood, for making us feel welcome. Collapse

Two weeks ago, I have stayed in Grand Hyatt. I kind of knew the location of the hotel as I lived in Dubai for six years but first time stayed in this hotel as a tourist. I will always praise Grand Hyatt for it's authenticity. Let's just say it has a character that I like. The rooms a very well furnished and comfortable to live in, you do get a luxury feel. My room was always spotless clean etc. The customer service was there, discreet and professional.Since, I am a person with an eye for detail, there is room for improvement. Fundamentally, Grand Hyatt is not newly build hotel and yet, I am surprised that rooms can look fantastic and the outside pool area looks run down. I generally feel it is the time for refurbishment, it looks tired. It almost feels like the hotel has concentrated on marketing this hotel more for conferences and not for leisure stay. This would probably explain the lack of entertainment offered to guests staying in Grand Hyatt. If you know Dubai and are looking for relatively good location not far from Downtown and the airport this is a nice hotel to stay in. Collapse

I'm resorting to leaving a review as they have not replied to my message sent over 1 month ago and although polite, the staff really didn't offer much other than sympathy. So lets start by saying the actual hotel is amazingly beautiful, clean and with good facilities - the message sent to them is below and outlines the problems we experienced: I would like to further express my disappointment from my families and my recent stay at your hotel. This is the first Hyatt I have stayed in and will be the last is this is typical of the brand - having stayed in many hotels for work and pleasure I cannot express how disappointed I was with this hotel as this was not only our family holiday but my mother's 80th birthday celebration. I am sure you have records but I will briefly recap. The room my mother and daughter stayed in was so loud, they could not sleep at night due to the Oktoberfest party; having suffered 2 sleepless nights they asked to move, this was granted but to a smaller room than booked - nothing was offered in compensation for this. We opted for the Club Hyatt package and although good in principle, it was clear that the staff were over-taxed and the facilities inadequate for the number of guests. Frequently there were no food or plates, bowls, cutlery and many clients were at a loss what to do. Furthermore the poolside bar suffered a similar lack of staffing with us having to wait 50-60 mins for a simple food order. We also needed to send the fish back once due to it being of poor quality. We all also became ill during our visit, whether this is from the hotel or not I cannot say but my suspicion in hindsight was also the poolside bar (although of course I am not holding the hotel responsible for this) - it did mean that my mother spent 3 days in bed. Regardless of the illness our experience of the hotel was somewhat lacking, made worse with the reply from the online survey I submitted and World of Hyatt points that I do not think I will be adding to. Although the staff were always excellent our family experience was very disappointing to the point that my children do not want to return to any Dubai hotel and my mother did not experience the birthday celebration we intended or she deserved. At least the sun was shining! Collapse
