I was staying at Grand creek side room and it was amazing ,clean and has breathtaking view. the lobby is so beautiful and you can enjoy your perfect breakfast with the voice of waterfall and feels like you are in middle of jungle. the pool area was so big and green and you can relax there for several hours. the only negative things that I can share is that all of things in hotel was unbelievably expensive like ice cream, sweet, bottle of water,... moreover, all the staff were so friendly. one important things: If you stay in club rooms you are not allowed to have your breakfast in collective restaurant which this resturant was very big and beautiful with perfect service. I was on a short stopover in Dubai in transit really from Karachi to Mumbai. I spent less than 24 hours at the Grand Hyatt which was really spectacular. I took a free Emirates limo the short ride to the hotel, arriving early afternoon. First impressions were of a gigantic, modern, international, palatial hotel. The "Wow" effective was instantaneous and I have stayed in a few hotels in my time... My room was not quite ready but the young lady at the busy reception desk reassured me that it would only take a few minutes. She was right. Within 15 minutes I had my room key. However it took me considerably longer to find the lifts to take me up to my large room on the 9th floor where my luggage was already waiting for me. In fact I needed the help of a young lady who was serving newly arrived guests with dates and tea. She was extremely friendly and helpful - something that typified all the staff I encountered here. My room itself was large, modern & light. It sported a great view over to the main part of the city in the hazy distance. The huge flat screen TV dominated the wall opposite the king sized double bed. I particularly liked the fact that I could hook up my lap top to this smart TV and watch videos down streamed from my Amazon account. The WiFi connectivity was free and worked well. The separate large bathroom was great. It included a bath tub, separate walk in shower room and another small, separate cubicle with the WC and bidet. Of course all the complementary bathroom amenities were on hand. Other features of this room included a large safe, desk, small sofa and coffee table, enough electrical sockets to recharge all my portable electrical devices and free bottled water (thank goodness!). As I still had some hours of daylight left I decided to try out the pool. Getting there was more of a challenge than I anticipated. Firstly the hotel slippers were far too small for my feet and then the signposting to the pool inside the hotel were non existent. The same lady who guided me earlier in the lobby area also helped to orientate me and set me on the correct path. The pool was great. Sort of landscape design, deep enough with very comfortable sun beds with large fluffy white towels. I wiled away an hour or so there until the sun dipped over the horizon. Breakfast was taken in "The Collective" in the extensive indoor garden like atrium. If I wasn't on such a tight time schedule to catch my flight I would have lingered here much longer. The buffet was really extensive with choices to meet every taste, both Western and Asian. Check out was done by a very polite and friendly young lady who profusely apologised that the hotel could not adjust the invoice to fit in with legal German fiscal requirements. Despite checking with her back office management I was told that the IT systems of the hotel do not accommodate such deviations from it's global standards. Pity. I would thoroughly recommend this large, impressive hotel. If I may be so bold I recommend improving the signposting in the hotel itself and considering adjusting the rigid IT system for international guests. Collapse

The Grand Hyatt is an old hotel just outside of Dera. Its not a very practical location with only a really poor Wafi mall nearby, but theres always taxi upfront. Staff is very well trained and hospitable. It has been recently renovated so does not feel very old. The new rooms are excellent, the view of their pool and amenities is also very nice (see pics). I did not swim because of shortage of time. The executive lounge is alright with alcohol and some snacks and salads between 6-8pm. Breakfast is also average but the resturant below the lobby is excellent. The hotel is extremely expensive so the value proposition is simply not there. I paid $350 in off season for a executive room. Collapse

This was my second stay in this hotel and the place totally seems to have gone to dogs...Offcourse the property is still shiny and golden (like most things in Dubai) but the service levels have really gone to the pits.. My airport pick up arrived 45 mins late after 3 reminder phone calls from airport.. and I was told that I won't be charged of it because of this goof up...but the final bill had the charge for it and everyone pleaded ignorance about any such promise being made.. Worse the bathroom washbasin got clogged each day and despite reminders to housekeeping it was never properly rectified...The 2 stars being given are only for the breakfast service which was great... For this price there would be atleast 1 dozen hotels in Dubai which are far better than this grand Hyatt ...Would not recommend a stay here at all...Not that the management cares anyways... Collapse

When we arrived we had a small issue with check in, even though we had booked and paid for our room months ago - they had sold out all their rooms. They eventually upgraded us to get us in a room. After a long trip and booking in so late that was the last thing we wanted was to be standing there waiting for our room. The hotel is near to the hop on hop off bus which is around 10min walk or catch a cab. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic range. There is a mixture of Arabric breakfast items and english items as well. Collapse
