Extremely noisy renovation work throughout our 4-night stay made the experience quite unpleasant. On top of that, the phone would ring every 2/3 hours. A single ring. Nobody replied when I picked up. Reception had no idea why and were unable to fix it. Awful. Room service was basically possible only when we were in the room. We only had our room cleaned once in 4 days, despite turning the 'maid service' light on whenever we left the room. All the food we tried (dinner at the Japanese restaurant, burger by the pool, and Lebanese room service) was as pricey, which is fine in this kind of establishment. Unfortunately, the quality was quite low throughout. In my experience, you can find better food almost in any other restaurant in the country. 눇 We only had breakfast once (on Sunday, which was a national holiday) and the buffet was really good, with a huge selection of good and fresh food. It was really busy, but the staff handled everything very well. The garden area and the swimming pool were very pleasant. Offer of fresh water and tea in the lobby upon coming back was a nice touch. A beautiful, well maintained 37-acre property close to Airport. Possibly the biggest in Dubai. Better than Hyatt Regency where I had stayed earlier Pros : - Large, comfortable clean rooms with all necessary amenities - Multiple dining options - Big sized swimming pool though crowded at times. Also a decent jogging track - Large breakfast spread with numerous options to choose from - Free wifi through out the hotel property Cons : - Indian food tried here was just about okay - Toiletries are of poor Chinese quality Overall a fabulous experience !!! We visited the Grand Hyatt Dubai last month for six nights. Check in took a while and then they did not have the rooms we had booked! My parents had booked a twin creek side room but none were available until the following day and when we (myself, partner and daughter) arrived in our room there was no bed for our daughter. They put a bed in whilst we were at dinner. This needs reviewing as we paid the same price (adult) for our 14 yr old daughter and she was given a camp bed. My parents were moved the next morning but did not get twin beds in their room- they couldn't be bothered to complain again! To be fair issues were corrected when we flagged them up and we were given some complimentary extras to compensate. Positives- Executive lounge well worth spending the extra. Drinks available all day and we were able to take them down to the pool. Alcoholic beverages (an excellent selection) available for two hours in the evening and snacks. It was more like a buffet and it was evident that a lot of guests ate their evening meal there as we did one evening. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. The collective (buffet restaurant) was absolutely outstanding. An excellent selection of meals and many cooked to order like burgers, chips, kebabs and pizzas. Always plenty of fresh fruit, salad and vegetables available too and curries and other cooked meals. Staff again very attentive and friendly. We actually decided not to eat anywhere else during our stay as the choice was so good and it catered for everyone. Breakfast had an excellent selection also. It never seemed very busy either apart from breakfast was busier than lunch/evening. It was never so busy that you had to queue for very long though. Swimming pool area very large although if you left it too late you had to search for beds. Staff not as attentive here but still friendly. It didn't feel as luxurious as other hotels we have stayed in. Last year we stayed at the anantara and they bought round free cold towels/ fruit and lollies throughout the day for guests around the pool. Perhaps the Grand Hyatt might consider little touches like this to make the experience that little bit more special? Please consider reviewing your room booking process and checking in process- other than these and a few other small blips not worth mentioning an excellent experience. Overall we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely consider returning to the Grand Hyatt. Collapse
