Well service elevators then. We were very lucky to be given room on 30th floor when checking in very early after our flight. Thanks to reception staff for that - but we got room 3020 located next to fleet of service elevators going up and down all day and more importantly at night. The noise was bearable but maybe I am a lighter sleeper than most. However This was the only downside to an otherwise great 3 night stay. The breakfast buffet each day was excellent, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and we even got a room after checking out to shower in before a very late onward flight. The hotel is well situated on the river and everywhere was clean and well presented. It will be on my list if ever we were to return to Singapore provided we get a different room of course. Well done for a good stay. Collapse

This is a large hotel mainly catering to business people. It's modern, very spacious with nice decor. Bedrooms are well appointed with tea/coffee making facilities. We thought prices were expensive - but then we found that prices everywhere in Singapore were high! All the staff were attentive and helpful, particularly Ted who was attentive and polite even when the bar was extremely busy. Would stay again. Collapse

Staff at reception was not friendly at all and showed no empathy for their guests. I booked a room in this hotel for two nights before and four nights after a conference that was going to take place at the same hotel. Because I booked and paid for a more expensive room than the one which was covered by the conference I had to check in and check out THREE times in 11 days in the same hotel to actually get the room I paid for. I was willing to stay in the cheaper room if the difference of price could be arranged but the staff at reception showed no flexibility whatsoever to work it out. The only suggestion was to stay in the cheaper room during the entire stay to avoid checking in and out three times but NOT get any money back from the booking of the most expensive room, which I think is just unacceptable for such a hotel. Breakfast was just chaotic at any time in the morning. I had never experienced such a chaotic environment in a hotel of this quality. Kids running around everywhere, people talking loud, always had to queue for toasts and eggs. Definitely not the place for a calm start in the day and always needed to calm down after having breakfast there. Also, if you show up late the likelihood of not having fruits and such is very high. The pool was nice but the bar there was empty and no one was there. Room was comfortable and clean but I could hear people talking in the room next to mine. For all this, I do not plan to stay at this hotel again when I go back to Singapore. Collapse

After checking TripAdvisor in respect to this Hotel, I took a punt and booked 4 nights accommodation in a 2 room suite. This is because it almost appeared to be a 50/50 chance that the rooms and bedding was going to be clean according to reviews. I am so glad I did. This Hotel was absolutely fantastic in service, cleaning, food and drink choices, assistance with queries and location. I knew I had picked a great Hotel when as we arrived, about 15 Air Hostesses from a very reputable Air Line (won't mention for privacy) were checking out. It was about 2am so we were pretty tired and when we saw all those Air Hostesses, we were thinking 'Wow its going to be awhile before we could check in'. Then no sooner had we put our hand luggage down, a front office Bellman 'Ravean' greeted us and welcomed us to the hotel. He apologised for the large guest group checking out - which was really not caused by him and so not necessary - and added that we would be seen to shortly. We were about to sit down to wait, when out of nowhere a front desk attendant appeared at a vacant position and called us over by name! Very impressed with the service and always greeted by staff who were only too happy to oblige. Ravean then assisted us to our room, pointed out the restaurants and advised of the Hotel amenities. We could not believe his energy and enthusiasm at such an early hour and you could see he loved his job and the hotel. Our room I have to be honest was dated in terms of current decor style, and so a renovation would not go to waste, but it wasn't so bad as being horrible or unclean or stainted etc. It actually had an elegant 1970's feel, that was warm and inviting - not clinical or sparse in furniture with no character that some modern hotels have, so we loved it. It had everything you wanted, it was very large in space, clean bedding that was really comfortable, a great view as we were up high in the Executive Club Floors. Breakfast in the Club lounge was lovely, catering for the Business Traveler and Vacationer. The location is the best part ..... 10 min Taxi ride to Orchard Road, 15 - 20 mins to Gardens by the Bay depending on traffic. Taxi stop outside from Lobby at Hotel. The lobby Restaurant was always a hub for many diners and the Lobby Bar a hit with Live music and feel good atmosphere. Walk out of the Hotel to the river and enjoy the walks along its banks that are paved and shaded by old beautiful trees with places to stop and enjoy the quiet view. Its a residential area so people were jogging, even late at night and nanny's in groups pushing prams with babies and chatting. A short 1 min walk to the bridge, takes you over to a variety of restaurants, cafes and hip boutique bars. Great place for an Espresso coffee or craft beer - an essential for most Aussies! A must is a trip on the water Taxi that takes you to Clarke Quay and all the way to Marina Bay. You won't see the Taxi travel up the river - it is ordered from the Booth near the bridge, and it comes to you. LOVE this Hotel so definitely will be staying again. Collapse
