Stayed 3 nights on a business trip. Checked in late with no problems. Room was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the river. It was a bit small, but not bad. I didn't have time to explore the hotel amenities so can't speak to them. Just the room, lobby and breakfast. I had the breakfast buffet included. Good diverse array of food options. Had to check out by 4 am and was able to do so easily and get a taxi to the airport quickly. Really nice hotel for the price paid. Collapse

I would like to share my experience staying in Grand Copthorne waterfront Hotel on the 6-7 Dec. I had a wonderful experience stay in Grand Copthorne waterfront hotel. My Wife and I checked in on the 6th Dec, the hotel receptionist was friendly and professional, she personally brought us up to 29th floor for our club room check-in. Warmed welcome and welcome drinks greeted us while another receptionist at the lounge processing our check-in. We were briefed about our club executive benefits accordingly and check with the house keeping whether our room is ready. The room we had at the club executive level was big and cosy, and a fruit baskets was there for our refreshments. As it's my Wife Belated birthday, they even delivered a delicious chocolate cake. Later in the evening, we went up to the lounge for our evening cocktail. The staffs are friendly and professional while taking orders and check that if everything is ok. With fine wines and some finger food accompanied by the breathtaking view of the city. What else can you ask for. Location of the hotel is convenient and there are many restaurants with various cuisines to choose from along the river. It's truly an amazing experience. Thank you. Collapse

Due to a very last minute change of plans I had to put my 84 year old mother up for a night in a hotel. I called a number of hotels which were either fully booked or whose reservations staff were totally a matter of fact. Mum was already quite unhappy with me that I was going to leave her for a night at a hotel and was giving me a hard time about it - so it was a rather stressful few hours as I tried to locate a hotel which was nearby and which had rooms on very short notice. I have never stayed at the Grand Copthorne before and was not sure if it was a good hotel. However I decided to give it a try and I have to say I was tremendously and most pleasantly surprised. The person at the call centre, Sha not only courteous but you get the sense that she is happy you called. After giving her my details it turned out that the hotel had some problems because I had not given some correct info but when she called me back she made me feel as if it was the hotel's mistake even though I knew full well that it was mine. When we went to check in Sha appeared and introduced me to Anil who I think was the night manager that night. He was more understated but no less courteous and welcoming. Whatever reservations (no pun intended) my mum had disappeared due in large part to the warmth and welcome Sha and Anil offered mum. I had expected the room to be old but it turned out to be lovely and functional. Very clean and it had a fresh feeling to it. Breakfast was served in very comfortable and modern looking cafe. It was such a pleasant experience - it is not often you get a hotel that is first class in its set up with the added pleasure of people welcoming you as if you were an old and dear friend - there was a homeliness to it all and not just a corporatish type of welcome. The level of genuineness my mum and i experienced was amazing. I don't think I have ever had that in a hotel in Singapore before. Collapse

At $280 per night on agoda, this new refurbished hotel ( lobby is refurbished, not the rooms) is a nice hotel just outside the business district and near the shopping centres of Orchard. It is situated near the expat living and located near a shopping mall called Great World" city. This is not as luxurious as other 5 star hotels as the rooms are slightly older and the pool is pretty gloomy for Asian standards. But we think it is a great place for a business hotel where it is beautiful and classy but not at the high $400-500 range of hotels . Good food but not amazing food and it is situated right next to the famous club ZOUK. Good hotel to stay if you intend to be closed after a night dancing Collapse

We stayed four nights in the Grand Copthorne Waterfront. Checkin went very smoothly, though we had to wait just a bit. We got the breakfast buffet package. Be sure you get the breakfast buffet. It was a highlight every day we were there. The room is very nice with a really, really large closet for some reason. The bathroom was very modern with both a shower and tub. Plenty of hot water at all times. They left two bottles of water in the room every day, which was really important since it was so hot there, but the air conditioning in the room was fantastic. The only real negative of this hotel is that it is nowhere near any MRT stops. There is a bus stop just outside, and once we figured out how to use the bus system that worked well. Note that taxis are relatively cheap in Singapore, so we took them quite a few places. Figure about $10 to get to/from area sights. They are building a bunch of MRT stops including one across the street, so this will change in time. The hotel has a shuttle to the MRT, but we never figured out the time to catch it. Collapse
