I really enjoyed my stay overall but there are some irritations with this place but the location and view makes up for most of its foibles. - room nice enough, rooms could use an update - wifi pretty solid - they hide the laundry bags and laundry expensive - ac unit shut itself off every few hours so room heated up overnight, told reception no change - the lifts are really archaic - a small thing but hanging around waiting really gets old - staff friendly enough - housekeeping - my room was along the end of a hall so it takes them all day to get there, missed room being cleaned twice over weekend as was back in room by the time they got to it, pretty annoying - free minibar a nice idea but really limited and no candy, so didn't really use it - decor, faded grandeur reminds me of many old british places, a bit grubby in places - Nespresso in room really nice - very handy for trams, no9 right outside into centre of Hague - bed very comfy but those annoying square pillows Have already reviewed the restaurant, all in all enjoyed my stay and may do it more regularly but there doesn't seem to be any 'status' so not sure upgrades would happen which they always do at my regular haunts - great for a sunny weekend though, highly recommend overall Rob Collapse

Stayed here for one night recently (2nd visit in total). Overall the hotel is very nice, pleasant and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfy bed and free mini bar. Only had breakfast which was ok, but a shame that most of the "hot" food was, at best, luke warm. My only criticism was the check out was painful. No express check out option and only one girl on the desk. Bless her, she was doing her best but at one point over a dozen people waiting. Our check out took nearly 15 minutes which is far from ideal when there on business with a busy day ahead. I would stay here again, but just might leave my room card on the reception desk next time as I had already paid for my room and had no extras Collapse

Due to train problems, I ended up in Den Haag. When looking at the hotel, the outer exterior makes it seem like it would be an amazing place BUT don't be fooled by the outside. The hotel is simply too big and the layout is a bit confusing. Finding my room was a challenge and also met other lost people. I tried to book online while standing there but the concierge told me that the hotel would not receive the info in time & I would not have a place to stay. I feel like I was conned but after calling 3 other hotels (which were all completely booked), I had no choice. So I asked for the cheapest room which was 162,50 euros which did not include a breakfast option. My entire experience was average. The view from the patio area is nice but once can get the same view walking on the beach. Carpets and interior were a bit lackluster and the service was also average. I just needed a place to sleep and it was okay. I read about a/c in other reviews but my room did not have it. I opened the windows to loud noise and bugs. The most helpful person was a hotel staff member who stopped vacuuming to show me where I could find something. If I actually had the choice and the time to find a proper hotel, I would choose another option. At midnight after hours of traveling, I had no choice. Collapse

Treated ourself to stay in this place. Everyone we told we were staying there were impressed. Grand has lost its beauty. Chipped paint on room, missing caulking , humming lights until you adjust them. Stained carpets in the hall. No instructions left how to use safe, should have to ask for it in 5 star hotel. TV limited channels with. I instructions. Paint falling off the building and cracked stairs out front and wires not secured. Trip hazard. Staff. At reception could not understand some languages. Valet parking was perfect and needed. Came when classical festival and crew were tying up limited elevators. Collapse

I always ask myself if I would come to a hotel with my family when I attend for a conference. The answer with the Kurhaus is that yes I think I would. It's a big stylish hotel with a massive central ballroom and some lovely old features. The lift is slightly confusing the first time you use it but the rooms are fair. The bathrooms are excellent because the shower over the bath unusually uses a decent width flat bottomed bath. A first for me but thank goodness. The breakfast restaurant has lovely views and a great selection. Yes I would bring my family. Collapse
