The Gran Oasis Resort, located on Golf Las Américas, opposite the fourth green, and with marvellous views of the course, is reminiscent of a small colonial style village, with buildings of one or two floors, surrounded by marvellous pathways and gardens, with a superb collection of tropical palm trees. The resort has all the services you would expect from a first class hotel: restaurant, swimming pool, bar, games room, children's club, putting green, supermarket and the internet in comfortable and spacious facilities.

We had 'all inclusive' for one week, we wished we booked for longer. The hotel is fantastic for families and kids. Cleanliness of whole site 100%. Rooms (we had a family room for 3 adults and 2 kids) 100%. Choice of variation of food everyday 100%. Extremely friendly staff 100%. Activities for the kids 100%. Throughout the whole of our stay every member of staff we spoke to was polite and friendly and showed a caring attitude to ensure we were happy with everything. This is most deffinately the best hotel I have ever stayed at and we will all be back again next year. To the Manager - keep up the good work. Collapse

I had read the reviews and seen the pictures but thought I'd be safe in term time - how wrong was I! There were so many kids so if you are considering going as a couple please only go if you love kids around you!! This isn't a criticism of the hotel as it obviously prides itself on being family friendly, it just wasn't suited to us in that sense. Although we still wouldn't have had peace and quiet around the pool without the kids due to drilling that was often going on! My initial impression of the hotel was quite negative as no welcome drink and no one to help with your bags despite how many stairs there were to the room! Main man on reception not the most welcoming or helpful - one day our room wasn't done so I went down to ask for towels and they took an hour, luckily I had an hour spare for a drink on the balcony but I had wanted to get ready first so the wait was frustrating. Electricity works by putting card into slot like many hotels do these days but on our second night we got home and put the cards in and they didn't work - my boyfriend walked down to reception they took the cards told him it would all work now, he came back and still didn't work so had to go all the way back for them to finally send someone to look at it, don't know what they did but they made it so that the electricity didn't need the card in the slot anymore. Quite frustrating when rushing to get ready - I showered in the dark and started drying my hair with a towel. Location is 20 minute walk from both Los Cris and las Americas- we walked there and back in the day time as we quite like a walk and there in the evening but after a good feed and drink we couldn't face the uphill walk back again so would get a taxi back 5euros unless you got one of those taxi drivers that puts a cheeky surcharge on! The room itself is great with a balcony with beautiful sea views, kitchen has everything you would need (we only made our own breakfast and pizza one day after a far too big lunch so didn't test much out but the oven works so does the corkscrew). Bathroom looks pretty basic but the shower is actually very powerful although did go cold on me twice - maybe I shower for too long! Hairdryer the typical holiday hairdryer but got my hair dry eventually. Didn't need aircon often but very good units in both bedroom and living room and a ceiling fan of you prefer. Mainly very clean - some little green ants in the wardrobe one day but it's a hot country you get these things sometimes. Not sure if the sheets got changed at all maybe once in the week. Wouldn't stay again myself due to being more suitable to families and due to location probably more suited to all inc basis depending on the quality of the food, would recommend to family with kids though as the hotel itself is very nice and so are the rooms. Stayed at this hotel at relatively short notice as it had already been booked by family members for a birthday trip. We travelled with our 3 yr-old son, and it is fair to say that it would not have been my first choice, given its emphasis on the all-inclusive market. As it turned out, the Gran Oasis exceeded our expectations, which had been coloured by the occasionally negative reviews on TripAdvisor. We travelled outside the school holidays, and the resort, while not empty was certainly not running at full capacity. There was no pressure on sun loungers or any wait for a table in the restaurant. The buffet-style restaurant worked out well for our fussy son and we always found something that he would eat ... especially the ice cream of course. The staff were attentive and efficient, and seemed genuinely cheerful. We had a duplex apartment, high up the hill, with quite a few flights of steps down to the pool, reception and restaurant. There was a circuitous step-free route down to the main parts of the hotel, but people with restricted mobility might choose a closer room. That said, our room was quiet and peaceful. The drawback of the duplex layout was that we had to be on a constant lookout for our son on the tiled and somewhat slippery stairs. The kitchenette was small but had what we needed, including a coffee filter machine: if you are a coffee addict, take a supply of No.4 filter papers. The air-con was efficient, but annoyingly there was only one control remote for the two floors: and the remote always seemed to be in the other room! Beds and towels were changed regularly, though they could have supplied more shower gel and shampoo. The kitchen and rooms were very clean. As I mentioned, the food was pretty good: salads, freshly-grilled items and other hot dishes, with chips & pizza ever present. Breakfast was a little samey after a week, but the churros with hot chocolate sauce were a favourite. We were on half-board and that was the right choice for us. The hard sell on the all-inclusive upgrade was a little suspicious, and having tasted the AI beer one evening I could see why. If you had kids who like fizzy drinks, and were going to eat lunch every day in the hotel then perhaps it might make sense. The three pools were good. Our boy liked the middle one (1.4m deep) and the water was clean and a good temperature. The small supermarket on site was OK for the odd purchase ... but avoid the "fresh" milk: the carton we bought was going off before we got it back to the room. I think if we went back we'd try somewhere else, but it was perfectly adequate for what we needed on this trip. Collapse

Currently staying at the gran oasis for the second time have to say this hotel is amazing and should be five star. There is not one bad thing about this hotel. Food is delicious with plenty of choice for everybody, children's entertainers are all brilliant always something for the children to do my kids love the games through the day and the mini disco. Night shows are all good. Cleanliness of the room is perfect. Have had clean towels every day cleaners are in everyday and always do an awesome job. All the staff at this hotel are all happy to help and can't do enough for you. Yes the hotel is about twenty minit walk from the beach, but it's a lovely walk, and you don't really have to leave the place as everything is on site for you. I love this hotel and am already planning on coming back next year for our third visit. Leaving tomoro and don't want to go .Thank you everyone at gran oasis for making our holiday extra special. Hopefully see you next year Collapse
