I travelled with my family with ages ranging from 7 to 69 and every single one of us had a fantastic week. We were so impressed and would not hesitate to return. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left every single member of staff made the place what it is. This was our first time going all inclusive as a family and yes, you do have to pay extra if you want premium drinks or 'a la carte' lunch but there really is no need. Both buffet food and local drinks good. Rooms We stayed in 2 apartments. The 1 bedroom and then the 2 bed with solarium. They were close to each other and although a little dated, they were clean and comfortable and had all we needed. We didn't use the solarium at all. (You had to go out your room and up onto the roof) But if we were self catering then it would have been nice to eat there or if you weren't worried about being close to the pool then a great place to lounge. Also had amazing views. We did have a few steps but these were not a problem for us. Pools/beds There are 2 pools and a baby pool. All heated and warm (mid April) in fact the middle /top pool was incredibly warm. Like getting into a bath which was lovely on the cloudy days. The children did not want to get out! There are plenty of sunbeds and we could always find a spare one whatever time we looked. However people do reserve beds, (which the hotel ask you not to do) especially the beds directly around the pool. I have no real issue with this if people intend to spend the day by the pool and reserve whilst they go to breakfast for instance but when you see 4 or 5 towels down on beds and the people who reserve them don't show up until hours later - that is very annoying!! We saw 4 beds reserved and the owners did not return until 3.30pm. I think this is completely unacceptable and it would be good if the lifeguard removed these towels after a period of time. Around the pool there is astro turf type stuff which is good and stops slipping. During the day there are fashion shows held around the pool which we quite enjoyed watching but if you didn't want to then you didn't have to - they were not pushing their goods on you at all. There is a shop onsite where you can find goggles/inflatables etc for the pool which is handy and it is very reasonably priced. Entertainment The animation team were fab. Especially Stephy who was amazing with all the children, so patient - a real credit to the hotel. During the day there was plenty for the children to do. I would say a lot of it aimed at younger children up to around 10/11 but our 13yr old joined in and didn't seem to mind. Things like pool bingo, water balloon games, golf putting, table tennis, darts, football. There was also aqua aerobics and my favourite - water polo, which really ended up being a game for the adults with a lot of laughs and seemed to clear the pool of small children pretty quickly!! In the evening there was always a mini disco at 7.30 then something around 9. We saw a fantastic magician, amazing stage hypnotist and a snake show. Others were tribute acts which we didn't see but I'm sure they would be good if the standard of the shows we did see is anything to go by. Food/Restaurant There is one buffet restaurant serving all meals with a pool/snack bar available 11-23. The pool bar also serves a light buffet lunch if you don't want to change out of wet swimwear. Ice creams and slushies always available which was a hit with my girls!! The food is good and changes every evening. We never had to wait for a table but those that did waited a minimal time as staff turn around the tables quickly and efficiently. Yes you may have to queue for food at the busy times of for eggs/pancakes/omlettes that are cooking at breakfast but it is minimal. Everyone always found something they liked to eat. There was always plenty of salads/bread/rolls/chips/pizza for those who didn't want to eat the themed food (Mexican/canarian/oriental/Spanish etc) Staff I can honestly say that the staff are amazing. Everywhere you look there is someone cleaning, keeping the hotel in tip top condition. The reception staff always greet you with a smile and nothing seems to be too much trouble for anyone. Bar/waiting staff friendly and the animation team truly lovely. Location Yes a 20/30 min walk from town but shuttles available and cabs cheap if you needed one. Siam park very close and well worth a visit. Overall All in all a great value, family friendly hotel which I think if you found major fault with you are nit picking or have unrealisitic expectations. Having said that, if you are travelling without children, you may not feel the same way about it as me. Definitely a place for the family! Thank you Gran Oasis for a truly great week. I hope we can return to you next year! Collapse

We stayed for a week in April, from start to finish the staff couldn't do enough to help! In particular the Scottish receptionist! He was fab! Food was ok, certain theme nights were better than others the Italian was amazing! But we could always find something to eat. The apartments were very spacious.... each one layer out over 2 floors. The only down side would be if you were of reduced mobility or travelling with children the stairs might cause a problem. Try out the spa! I have a massage at least once or twice a week and here was the best I ever had.... we used it quite a lot throughout the week! And very reasonably priced! The hot stone massage is the one to go for!! I would stay here again for sure!! :-) Collapse

Just back from a couple of days away for my 30th! Had a voucher to get a bottle of bubbly from any bar which was a nice touch from hotel! We got taxi for less than €25 euros from airport and took 20mins so worth thinking about if you are paying for transfers etc. Hotel was lovely and clean staff were great very friendly! Room 005 which was really nice over two levels and we wanted late check out so had to go to room 003 last day which was 2 bed and roof terrace gorgeous but both were a hike up a hill, not an issue for us but worth knowing! Was €45 check out at 3pm €60 until 6pm. Pools were lovely but could of done with some quite background music, not everyone's cup of tea but we found it had no atmosphere etc Personally we have been to 10-15 all inclusive and we wish we had gone bed and breakfast or self catering here, we ended up going into town to eat and drink. Breakfast was fine but we really weren't keen on the other meals (were not fussy either). Drinks were very watered down. No point in cocktails as you could taste the water. Were a bit better if you got a spirit and coke etc. We spoke to people who were b&b and there drinks were great as they had to buy them! Shop was nice had fresh bread daily etc. Town was about €5 in taxi and Troya beach the same, you can walk along the front from one to other also which is a lovely walk.. we went on jetski which was €70 for both for 40mins from troya beach and amazing! Also did Siam park! Which was fab we did extra ticket at €51 each which gave good etc but I would stick with €34 tickets going back as you got €15 voucher for food and lost money if didn't spend it etc it gave you towels and lockers aswell but they didn't cost much to get from them anyway! Could easily spend the whole day as they have a beach aswell as all the rides! We only stayed two nights so couldn't fit much more in but is a lovely place and would defiantly go back, oh bulls head is great pub live band 10-1am! We would go back to this hotel but not all inclusive. If we were taking our kids I would go to a different hotel as I feel you need all inclusive with kids! Over all though hotel was lovely clean and friendly :) Collapse

We left gran oasis resort yesterday and are sad to leave. We were a group of 7 (3 adults, 4 children age 6 years - 13 years with the 13 year old being autistic). When we arrived at this hotel, we was pleasantly surprised when we was greeted by an amazing lady called Steffy who was handing out well - deserved champagnes and canapes!! Reception staff were really informative and always happy to help (especially Pepe and Daniel). Nothing was too small and (thank you for the free pack lunch for travel back home as we missed breakfast!). My son being registered with a disability and needing medical treatment on a daily basis. I went to the main reception and asked where i could get a particular ingredient from at the particular time of day,(as i forgot to pack it from home) as quick as a flash Pepe was on hand to do all he could to resolve this by taking a small tub of salt (which I needed) out of the hotel kitchen so I didn't have to wait for the shop to open up and pay for a small tub. This was a godsend and very much appreciated. Also despite being advertised as only allowing 500mb WIFI usage, you ACTUALLY GET UNLIMITED FREE WIFI, you just need to fill out a small form online to sign in. You receive free towels for the pool, you need to ask for them though, which can be changed twice a week, and you also get room towels too for baths and showers. The shower is a combi shower which you have to use 2 bath taps to adjust the water temperature. I wouldn't bother packing your own towels unless you plan on going to the beach,( we only went on the beach once as there was so much to do on the site, that you didn't need to go anywhere else). There are sunbeds on the beach which you have to hire too ( 2 sunbeds and a parasol for the day for us 7 was €12! ( warning though, there a number of street sellers very close to the beach and even walk on the beach, trying to sell you silk beach blankets at €20 etc...) The restaurant overlooks the pool and is nicely decorated. There was plenty of food variety and is always being topped up as guests were arriving to eat. It is self service and can go up as many times as you like. The plates were always being cleared from the tables by the efficient waiters and waitresses. I will say the one waiter that really stood out for me was Marcus who is a Christiano Ronaldo lookalike. (this really made my autistic son smile, as Ronaldo is one of his football idols). Thanks for allowing me to take his photo with you. I loved the fact that each night was differently themed. Luis, the matradee, was great with the kids on arrival and exiting the restaurant. On entry to restaurant, adults were given a shot of liqueur each night, which really relaxed us for the meal. Waiting staff were friendly and always waiting on us hand and foot. Rooms were always clean efficiently and the layout was lovely especially as it was a 2 storey apartment. We were in room 190 which doesn't have much of a view except for other rooms in the row behind but the greenery was really pretty and well maintained. Please note, there is air conditioning in all of the apartments, however this only works properly, if the patio doors in the room are FULLY SHUT.. There is a fold out bed under the tv unit in a cupboard, on the top floor of your apartment should you need it.. e.g a family of 4. Entertainment staff were absolutely lovely and kids particularly like Steffy and Renate. Michaela was pretty cool too. We were on first name terms by the 3rd day and we was there for 10 days. Also, they were great getting people involved and making my autistic son welcome and inclusive. The activities were great. Steffy and Renate really made an impact and very good impression on us therefore because of their caring nature and their attitude to their jobs, we will definitely be back soon. There is a daily activities inventory in the play area which tell you of the kids clubs activities, this included games in the pool such as pool bingo for the kids, water basketball, and diving for ping-pong balls also treasure hunt in the play area, cookie decorating and other kids activities. Don't worry there is activities for everyone, for the older kids (13 years and upwards - although there were some younger kids around 9 years old and upwards) there were fun activities like killer pool, darts, table tennis and water polo (which got pretty competitive but fun!). I do think water volleyball would be great for the adults too. There is a gym there too and a lovely spa for treatments too. If like me you want to keep fit, while on holiday Renate does a fantastic water exercise class (aqua gym) on a daily basis in the middle pool - seems to be the main pool for water activities. Also on hand is a suncream advisor who is very recommended and informative, she will help you gain a tan without any complications... ( strongly recommend her aloe vera recovery gel €20 but only need a little and it really does work). There was evening activities like raffle lottery which you get awesome and jokey prizes, also music quizzes and evening entertainment such as acrobatics, hypnotists and tribute bands and shows with small creatures like birds and reptiles. (opportunity for photos with these animals but you pay the price for them.) As a competitive but sporting family we all came away with certificates and a few prizes from the raffle lottery. I think it would be nice if the entertainment team put on a show themselves, but I think it would have been difficult as there are only 5 members of the entertainment staff anyway. As my son struggles with busy places and times, this hotel was perfect for him as it is not busy at this time of the year but there is always something for him to do, even if it meant playing xbox for a 15 minute slot at a euro a time or on the mini arcade lol ;-) Steffy really made sure he was included in the activities as much as he wanted and made sure that he was a valued guest. We have made a great bond and connection with the entertainment team and we was all very sad to leave. They made the holiday very enjoyable and entertaining. There are 3 pools outside. We went in the big pool a couple of times but I'm only 5'2" so was a bit too deep for me, this said though they had an inflatable slide in there one day which was amazing and a great laugh. We mainly stayed in the middle pool which was nice and warm and in my comfort zone, however as it is officially summer season I am sure they turned the heating element off in the pools. Although if you are playing games in the water, you don't really notice but it can also be quite refreshing too. The weather was between 24-28 degrees Celsius, especially around lunchtime and teatime. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, this is not the place for you, as it is a FAMILY ORIENTATED RESORT. Although perfect for golfing visitors. There is a small shop on site that sells your essentials and a small range of gifts from bracelets, postcards to big windchimes and a few clothing. Don't worry, it is reasonably priced, for example, 5 litre bottle of water was just €1.20! at set times or a taxi for €7 each way there and back or else there is a strong likelihood you could get lost like I did lol). However the entrance to the hotel is situated on a steep hill, so I would recommend proper walking shoes or comfortable trainers. This hotel is also really nice with views of mountains in the distance and backs onto a really lovely golf course. I would recommend going to Siam park rather than Aqualand ( tailored for more the young children aged 6 years and under in my opinion) as it is the most incredible day out as a family. Suitable for all ages including toddlers as there is a kids own water play area called the lost kingdom, with little slides and and a fortress with buckets of water that topple water out of. There is a free bus but the bus leaves there at 4.30pm and the park didn't close until 6pm. (no buses on a sunday although the park is open. When we went, we got a taxi back when the park closed and this cost around €8. I am glad we did this or else we would not have made it all the way round the rides. Suggest getting there at just before the opening time of 10 am, as it is quiet in the morning, not much queue for the rides but gets very busy after lunchtime. No goggles allowed on big rides, only waterproof cameras strapped to head or chest is allowed. There are lockers at €10 but only €5 is a deposit which you get back afterwards. The burgers are like the big Aberdeen Angus quarter-pound burgers with cheese and bacon and salad in a bun) While enjoying the comfort of this spectacular holiday resort, we made some fantastic friends, whom we have exchanged details and are keeping in touch with after the holiday. Overall, the whole experience from beginning to end was faultless and very much appreciated. All the staff from all of the key areas were friendly and despite a few having language barriers, they made it known that they welcome you with open arms as much as you would a big family. Hopefully return very soon with even bigger smiles on our faces as we arrive. It really is one big happy family. Miss everyone already. Be happy and keep smiling.. :-) Stayed April 2017, travelled with family Collapse
