My wife and I stayed at Gran Cervantes from 01/09/17 to 08/09/17 on an all inclusive basis. The hotel is approximately 150 yards from Torremolinos train station. First impressions were very positive; the entrance and foyer area must have been refurbished recently as it is all quite modern and fresh and very spacious. The reception staff were very friendly, courteous and spoke very good english and got us checked in without any fuss or delay. We stayed in room 249, looking over the pool area and out to the beach / sea and whilst everything above the reception area / ground floor is in need of a refurbishment everything was to hand that we required. The bathroom was more than adequate as was the room with plenty of storage, 2 generous single beds and a small balcony. The room was cleaned to a high standard each day: towels were also changed daily. The pool area is slightly small for the size of the hotel but we had no problems getting sun loungers around it. The all inclusive drinks were plentiful, the only drawback was that each person could only have 2 drinks per visit to the bar, however you could visit the bar as often as you liked. The bar staff in general were very good, polite and helpful. All had very good English. The all inclusive bar runs from 11 am to 11 pm. The all inclusive food was of a good standard, everything you would expect and plenty of it. Ther waiting staff in the restaurant were all more than pleasant and very helpful. I have read some negative reviews about the food but don't understand what some people expect for the money they are paying - service excellent - food selection excellent. The only negative that I would like to mention would be the standard of the night time entertainment - it left a lot to be desired - that said step out the front door and your are in the centre of Torremolinos with any amount of clubs and bars providing entertainment. My title really sums up my view of the all inclusive package at the Crevantes - you really did feel second class -for example - beer served in small wine glasses, cocktails out of a machine. Really you would be well advised to think through the economics of all inclusive given the poor quality of the offer here. Also the food was adequate without being anything special - less choice than expected e.g. no carvery at dinner or an omelette at breakfast. My previous experience at 4 star hotels in Spain and Teneriffe was much better. Ok that's my view and I am trying to be honest - I would not rate the all inclusive offer any where near 4 stars and that is a pity because in other respects the hotel was good although carpets a bit tired in corridors. Excellent position in the town near railway station and bus. We visited Malaga, Mijas, Benalmadena and Cordoba (by tour bus at 39 Euro - go for this cheaper option by Ruben just around the corner as it the same as dearer options. The staff in hotel were helpful and nice - only beef was when I asked if I could get a larger glass for a beer the barman was very dismissive - leading to feeling second class. But you get what you pay for and the cost for 10 days was significantly lower than other better 4 star hotels e.g. Don Pablo. I would rate this hotel more to 3 star bracket. I think for us it will be to reconsider all inclusive as the quality is declining since we first used it a few years ago. I did notice that Spain is getting expensive - I suppose the double whammy of Brexit and natural price rises is alive and well. So in conclusion the hotel was good but the all inclusive offer definitely poorer quality - but then that is only my opinion - others may well differ. One after thought don't take a room ending 29 as we found out was over a kid's play area - and Spanish kids are out until mid night LOL. Collapse

We have holidayed at Gran Cervantes Hotel for many years and this year we decided to go all inclusive and stay for a longer stay. Best decision ever! Food is amazing and we did not eat out once as the food was just so great. As the hotel is mainly German, French and Spanish the food is more European which is what we want instead of the usual basic English food. The hotel is right in the centre of the town and this makes it great for shopping, restaurants and bars. Staff are exceptionally professional in the hotel and the cleanliness is just on another level 5 star! We will definitely be returning next September again for our yearly Anniversary holiday and would not dream of staying anywhere else. Collapse
