With the exception of the cleaning ladies, client facing staff are unfriendly or even rude. In the restaurant you as an All inclusive guest have to get your drinks in tiny glasses by yourself where other guests are served at their table in bigger glasses from bottles of quality brands. If you do not show or say that you have booked all inclusive and they write down and execute your order in the restaurant or bar, and they find out, you get a big mouth! Room was big, bathroom was good, but beds are very hard/uncomfortable, no electricty acces point to charge your mobile. Meals are often not hot and offered in limited buffet form. Collapse

My Partner & I have just returned from a 10 Day Break at Gran Hotel Cervantes. We really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the Hotel which is in a great location, right in the heart of the centre of Torremolinos. The Hotel Reception area & Bar Area are Very Bright, Inviting & Modern. On the whole the Reception Staff are Very Friendly & Helpful, Especially Gabriel ( Gabi ) & a Lady with Curly Hair Our Room Was Spotlessly Clean & well Maintained by the Maids. One downside to the room was they provided a safe, but this had to be paid for. We always Stay in 4 star Hotels & have never Paid for the use of a safe before. Food in the Restaurant was Plentiful & always being Replenished. In the Main though we kept to the Cold Buffet Breakfast's & the Cold Choices in the Evening's Hot Food Tended to Luke Warm & Overcooked. We still had plenty of choice though. All of the Restaurant Staff Were Very Helpful, Immaculately Clean & Very Hard Working. We Had Perfect Service on Every Occasion from, Susanna, Pepe & Antonia, all of them very nice people. it was our first time staying at the Hotel & we will be returning. With some minor changes this would be a perfect Hotel. one other small thing we missed was Tea & Coffee Making Facilities in the Room, that would help a lot. Collapse

2 of us on a golfing holiday stayed B&B from Sat13th May to Sat 20th May. Breakfast OK if you like continental. Rubbish for a fry. Bacon was fatty and almost transparent it was so thin. Scrambled egg, rubbery. Cannelloni beans, small and hard with flavourless sauce. Sausages soggy and full of fillers. Much better fare locally for between 5 and 7 Euros. Water 2 euros for small bottle whilst for 14cents available at mercardo across the street. Only San Miguel Beer available at 4 Euros a pint. Hardly any entertainment ( typical of Torremolinos in general ). Only one electric socket situated next to the sink in the bathroom ( obvious H&S hazard ). Obvious signs of sockets having been removed and covered over, probably to prevent family charging phones and tablets etc. Service at hotel bar was dour and unhelpful. Never once saw a smile from any of the bar tenders. One man persistently refused to walk back to us with our change until my friend actually insisted that he did. In contrast, the poolside service was efficient and the reception personnel were all very friendly and helpful. In summary the only justification we could see for stiff charges was the 4 stars on the facade which frankly would be 2 - 3 at home. Collapse
Excellent hotel but let down by the restaurant.

As part of the often mentioned Irish Group, my wife and I considered our 7-day holiday as one of the most enjoyable we ever had. The hotel is lovely; great clean room and bathroom and balcony. Can't understand previous comments like 'dated' or needing refurbishment'. The lifts were much better than other hotels so no criticism there. Poolside, there were plenty of beds despite the fact that the Irish Group numbered nearly 300. In the bedroom, the bed was huge and comfortable and the shower and air con were great. But the restaurant was the weak point; maybe because of the number of guests. The food was never hot and dishes often ran out without being replaced. The layout was confusing e.g. no milk by the packets of cereal, which meant that there was considerable walking around to find things.. Disappointingly fruit was mainly tinned peaches and tinned pears. But there was really no excuse for anyone to leave feeling hungry; there was plenty to eat even if it was an unusual mix. Collapse

Superbreak star ratings are given as a guide to help you choose between our hotels and do not necessarily relate to those awarded by other organisations.
They symbolise the level of service and range of facilities that you can expect at the property; ranging from 1 star - hotels with the simplest range of facilities, to five stars - luxury hotels with a wider range of facilities.
Please note that different countries have different standards and star ratings may differ according to the country where the hotel is located.
