Must say beautiful hotel, staff very friendly especially if you at least try to speak a little spanish. Rooms very nice for maybe a three star hotel not four as stated, beds very hard. Top tip bring a kettle but good hair dryer provided plenty of shampoo soap etc, room made up every day spotless. Was afraid after reading reviews about food it was maybe a little repetative sometimes but very enjoyable always found something suitable and as much as you wanted we always used the restaurant downstairs as the one besides the reception hadn't as much choice or space. The entertainment was very repetative and very spanish so went into Benidorm most evenings. Pools lovely and plenty of sunbeds and you dont have to run down early for them. Overall very relaxing but if your looking for a lot of English speaking guests you would be better to stay nearer Benidorm center. Collapse

Have stayed here over a previous summer and it's entirely different then... lively, active, happy, fun, vibrant, heated pool, loads of activities, etc... Over Spring, it becomes a virtual ghost town, with weather not much better than a "pleasant english spring day with some sunshine"... Do NOT book a trip to Benidorm over Spring or non summer months if you want it to be warm enough to be poolside in your bikini - the highest temp during our four day stay was just 17, but the wind was freezing so it felt more like 12c and every day was cloudy with bits of sun popping through then going again, so I sat by the pool in my clothes I wore for britain - jacket, jumper, jeans - how depressing... put my feet in the pool twice just for the sake of it, both times freezing and nobody else in the pool. Hardly anyone was in the pool because shamefully it wasn't heated over spring (shameful, that, Grand Bali), so you just sit on a sunbed, cold, staring at the pool you wish you could go into and hearing the odd brave soul wince when they take the plunge and go in for a second, then straight out again... Guests did not look happy - there was a definite vibe to this place I think everyone was fed up with it not being warm enough, saw one woman break down in tears... Over summer they do pool activities like water zumba, polo, etc - there is NOTHING over spring break - only french boules which only happened once in the four days we were there. It's really like a rest home's back garden with a pool nobody uses. They have appeared to made effort to upgrade the place a bit - there is now a large indoor snack bar which replaces the old shack outside by the pool - which now only serves ice creams (no cokes or drinks, stupidly). Snack bar prices have increased with this upgrade, of course - a chicken nugget meal is 8 euros - not cheap... and pizzas used to be 5 euros, they are now closer to 8 euros. And thankfully they've moved the night entertainment, which wasn't good, from outdoors where it was a noise nuisance to guests trying to sleep, to inside the hotel where it's not a nuisance. Well done. And it's the usual queue for drinks - really they need to speed this up a bit... so many people on here have said the same thing so why don't they fix it? Our room was better than last time - bathroom had a separate shower and large bath and hot water doesnt run out, and the room is clean however the mini fridge isn't cold so your drinks wont get cold. Also couldnt get the heating to work (yes, we needed heating) so used the blankets instead. Television had around 10 english channels, big improvement from last time with only one channel. And you need it when the weather isn't great... because there is NOTHING to do at this place unless the sun it out and it's warm enough to be poolside. And the rooms are tidied daily, and early, however our maid forgot things like more soap... The whole four days felt like a rest home/ghost town. No soul by the pool, empty sun beds, you would have thought it winter... people walking round in winter coats (which I've rarely seen in Spain), some braver people trying to "sunbathe" poolside using sunbeds as a wind block, but mostly sat there shivering and eventually giving up and going back into the hotel - where there's nothing to do. Buffet hasn't changed. Same not very great food, lots of it not hot enough - and god awful coffee - far too strong and bitter - bring your own sachets...! Also bring a mini kettle as there is none in the rooms. Found the staff mostly friendly - another improvement from last time they've obviously taken comments on board and try to be friendlier. Good. One very annoying thing though was every day my room key would stop working - and I've had to take the slow lifts back down to reception, again and again, for them to reactivate it... Don't know if they did this on purpose or not but I didn't keep my room key near my mobile phone or anything... Wifi inside the room was very good, but it was very DODGY in the rest of the hotel - constantly going out and having to sign back in, often not being able to sign back in... but not expensive - 4 euro for 4 days per device. Not bad. And the lady let me have free wifi when mine expired as I waited for our shuttle bus so thanks for that Grand Bali... So, this hotel is great for quiet summer breaks, but if you are looking for fun in the sun and pool and that summery type of holiday, or you want to be in a more lively area, do NOT come here unless it's summer because weather is just not warm enough at all and you will be stuck with nothing to do but sit in your room or the reception area as the pool area will be too cold... next time I will opt for more reliable non summer weather like Egypt... Will never come to Spain again for Spring break, after this experience. I was bored out of my head... However would return to this hotel, when it's HOT and only when it's HOT and that's summer only. I went to this hotel for 5 nights with my friend. On arrival it all looks very nice. We went to check in and was treated by a long que which we stood in for around one hour. Having set of from England at 4am, an hour to check in is not pleasant. Finally on checking in we realised that the wifi and room safe was at an extra charge. Not overly priced but it all adds up. The rooms were nice and clean and very spacious with a nice balcony with a sea view! Cleaners came in each day which was nice and fresh towels were given. Beds are comfy also. Going all inclusive was worth it. The food was nice and a large selection to choose from each day. The entertainment was more directed at the older generation so as women in our early 30's we wasn't so entertained. Due to the hotel not being in the main busy town where all the bars are we cycled there daily. We found the Spanish customs at the hotel rather rude and have no sense of 'waiting your turn'! Must staff in the restaurant was rather pleasant and very attentive. We was to be collected at 2:15pm on the day we left, check out was 12 mid day. Once you have checked out your all inclusive card stops which was alittle downer to the end of the holiday. Overall this hotel is nice but I wouldn't stay there again due to location. Collapse
