I receive their monthly emails, and we always find a spectacular deal! Every time we stay here, we have a great time. The price is always right...And it's next to the Fremont Street Experience, which keeps us company if it's too cold to be at the pool. The pool was under renovation (which is THE most spectacular part because of its incredible shark tank and slide). However, we loved lounging at the pool (yes, it was still open), loved the beignets and coffee I grabbed before heading out to the pool...There is an array of shops, restaurants like Claim Jumper - open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and other higher end restaurants...There is even a Starbucks:). I need my coffeee! This is the short list of great things about this place. It's comfortable, and we love it. Collapse

We had a Rush Tower room which was nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were horrible. There were no outlets close to the bed unless you move the heavy marble topped night stand. The deep soaker tub was nice but if you have mobility issues I can see it would be difficult to step over to get in. The rain shower was nice. The "resort fee" is a joke. Basically 2 bottles of water and internet. We didn't get water the first day. In-room coffee is Keurig cups at $2.50 a pop. The water slide is down for upgrades which was one thing we really wanted to use. No word on when it's supposed to be back in use and there wasn't anyone working on it the 3 days we were there. We have stayed here numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. We like staying in the Rush Tower. The staff has always been pleasant and accommodating and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

This year for our annual pilgrimage to Vegas, we decided to stay at the Golden Nugget on Fremont. Bill transportation, our usual method of getting from the airport to Fino, dropped us off at the back of the hotel which I thought was a little strange. As we walked into the Casino, the first thing we noticed was the Starbucks with a very long line things, immediately things were looking up. We got there very early on a Sunday, too early to actually check, but we thought we'd give it a try. After winding our way through the casino to the registration area, we were able to get into a very short line and we're quickly seen by hotel representative. They were able to check us in very quickly and said our room would be available soon. In the meantime we left our bags with the bellhop, and decided to check out the casino. Overall the casino floor was very nice plenty of table games, lots of slot machines, and a few bars interspersed here and there. In general, it was your usual casino. It was during this time that we were exploring the casino that I realized that I couldn't find my cellphone. With my mind screaming in panic (I know, I know... it's just a phone!) I ran back to the bellhop and pleaded for their assistance. I knew that I had left my phone on the bell transportation van that brought us to the casino, and the bellhop was extremely gracious and assisted me in reaching out to Bell transportation and coordinated a way to get my cell phone from their van back to the casino as quickly as possible. After a successful retrieval of my phone, we stopped by the front desk again and pick up the key to our room which was on the third floor. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of our room. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets crisp and white; The entire room smelled clean. The bathroom was comfortable if a little dated and the amenities were nice. We were satisfied with the room and slept very well at night, but let's face it nobody goes to Vegas for the rooms. As for food… That we were not so impressed with. Admittedly, we did not try all of the restaurants available so I can only comment on those restaurants we actually went to. The Claim Jumper was conveniently located near the elevators to our room and we went there twice for breakfast. The food was decent... that's all I can say, it was decent. Starbucks (both of them) were rather pathetic. I mean, seriously people, if you're advertising the cold brew drinks, don't you think you should have them in stock? But not a single day that we were there did they actually have a cold brew available to purchase. Of the fine dining areas, we went to the Grotto, the Italian restaurant located within the Golden Nugget. It was highly recommended by fellow guest who raved for quite a while about how wonderful the food was and having come from the West Coast, she felt the calamari was the best she's ever had. Yeah, apparently she'd must have had a lot to drink every time we ran across her, because that was not our experience. We found the calamari to be rubbery and the taste subpar; my husband's tomato bisque could've come from a can, while my Italian wedding soup was actually quite good. We also ordered the Meatza pizza and while the crust was good, the rest of it was so salty it was barely edible. The next time we return to the Nugget, we'll skip the fine dining and head straight to The Grille, A little hideaway in the casino near the sports book that has some really good burgers. Overall, we were satisfied with the Golden Nugget and would return there again. Hopefully, the Tank will be open and we can swim near the sharks. Collapse

Have always enjoyed staying here. It's not as big as the hotels on the strip which is a plus, it's easy to find, easy to park, easy to move around in. The rooms are clean, well decorated and comfortable. They've a good selection of restaurants, a great buffet, excellent casino and it opens onto Freemont Street. The Strip is definitely a place you have to visit but it's much less hassle and a lot more relaxing when you stay downtown. Collapse
