This was the most disappointing stay of my life. I never write reviews but after my stay last night i thought it was needed. I get there to check in and they tell me they don't have my reservations. Luckily I had my email pulled up and showed them the room I had paid for in advanced. She then tells me I'm getting a normal old room. Not what I paid for. I have to tell them I booked an upgraded premium room. She looks annoyed and says, ok I'll let it slide. Let what slide? The money I already paid you for the room I want? I ask for something quiet since it's just my daughter and I. She says ok. Like many other people said, I choose to stay at this hotel with my daughter because of the pool. We went to the pool and found out the water slide was under construction! No signs on website about, nor did the front desk inform us. We found out that it wouldn't be open until July!!! What was the point of coming here with no water slide that goes through the aquarium? They advertise about it all over, but couldn't advertise that it was closed? My 4 year old was so sad and kept asking why we couldn't use it. That was fun explaining to her I don't know why?? Why wouldn't you do construction on it during the off seasons like October through January? We ended up swimming in the pool for an hour. We tried to go to the hot tub only to have the lifeguard say, it's for ages 16 and up? So let me get this straight, My daughter can use the pool with ONLY ONE LIFEGUARD on duty who cannot see the blind spots around the pool. But no hot tub? After that, we ended finally going to our room. We get to our room to discover it is nowhere near UPGRADED REMODELED. The bathtub was rotted out with tons of rust and so was the toilet. My daughter was so exhausted I had to shower her and get her ready for cirque du solely. No time to change rooms! We get back late and go straight to bed, I should've noticed the complimentary earplugs as a sign. The room that we were in was the LOUDEST room in record history. The earplugs did not help one bit. I slept maybe two hours. It was unbareable. Noise drunk people next to us. Shouting in the halls. Just ridiculous. We checked out early in the morning since we were up and exhausted. Went to the front desk to file a complaint in person, she looked at me and did not care. I asked for the manager and she didn't bat an eyelash. She acted as if she didn't hear me. Talk about customer service or lack of there. She did not want to hear me out, no apology, no how can I make this better. Instead just said, well I guess I can wave the resort fee ok? So now you don't have to pay that. Thanks have a great day. I could not make this up, I ran out of there and have no desire of returning EVER! I will make sure I tell everyone I know not to stay at that rustmobile. There are soooo many other pleasant hotels and resorts in vegas with great customer service and fabulous rooms. Why bother torchering yiurself here? ****When I figure out\have time how to post the pics of the room I will update my review Collapse
Pretty darn good

So my husband and I stayed at the golden nugget recently. Very lovely, updated casino hotel on Fremont street in LV. The most beautiful and up to date on Fremont besides "the d" down the street. They had a good variety of dining with different price points ranging from the very expensive to a cheap quick bite to eat within the hotel. The gambling is some of the most expensive on Fremont street. They are not generous with their drinks in some areas (video poker machines) but in others they were great (black Jack tables they were around every 5 minutes.) We stayed in the Carson towers which seemed a bit outdated in decor. There aren't many electrical outlets in the room. The rooms are a tad dark. But they do have a lighted mirror if you need to do makeup. It's not horrible, at least it didn't bother us that much. Some people say it's so loud on Fremont street at night that you can hear the music so easy but it did not bother us one bit. However the small pillows DID bother us. We are used to using king size pillows at home and the pillows there were so comfy but short! This wasn't something I thought would bother me but it did. The staff did their best to keep hallways and main areas clean but as there are a ton of people walking all around all the time some of those areas were a bit dirty. We enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay there again. We really enjoyed downtown compared to staying on the strip. Totally different, less sleazy vibe. Thanks for a nice stay Collapse

So we chose this hotel for the location and pool, also had friends say it was great. Well, the slide was out of commission, the walls were paper thin (noticed the complimentary ear plugs so I'm assuming the hotel knows this already), the beds were totally uncomfortable, the trains' horns did not help sleeping either. I'm bummed that we were placed in the Carson tower and then to find out the Rush Tower is newer. Location was good but I feel for the amount we spent at this hotel I should not have this many complaints. Collapse
Not so much

This was my first time staying on Freemont and really enjoyed the break from the strip. I come to vegas often and just found the casino was a little too crowded and the ticket redemtion machines were always broken and out of service. This was making people really grumpy and creating awkward line ups at the machine that did work. On morning on my way down to the casino floor the elevator seemed to drop from the convention one floor to the lobby and actually really hurt my knees. It was quite a walk from the Carson tower to the casino which did not bother me and the walk is actually very pretty with a lot to look at but difficult for the senior I was travelling with. I found the beds to be quite hard and uncomfortable but the room was quite spacious. Collapse

One of the main reasons we stayed here was for the pool, with the slide going through the shark tank for our kids. There were no sharks, and the slide was out of order. Our room(s) were nice, but only because we had to upgrade to a suite because of the rooms only having double beds. It was overpriced for Vegas. Also, we asked that our room not be facing Fremont street because we were traveling with our kids and the noise. They told us it would not be, but it WAS anyway. Very frustrating. When we asked, the front desk told us we did not need reservations for the Italian restaurant, but when we went to dinner, the wait was two hours. There were no other good options with kids. So we went back up to our room, and made a reservation for the same Italian restaurant through Open Table for 45 minutes later. We will stay on the strip in a nicer hotel next time for sure. Collapse
