The check-in process was very good with attentive staff doing an efficient job and showing a friendly side. Always a reassuring start. I requested a room which was at the end of a corridor as things can get a bit noisy in this hotel at this time of the year with Christmas parties etc. Clearly this is no fault of the hotel. Anyway my requested was granted and I was tucked away in a quiet room. Rooms here are fine, clean with two widowhood singles bolted together (a pet dislike of mine) although the bed was big enough for this not to be an issue. During my week long stay my sleep was only ever interrupted by sirens on the close by motorway which happened a couple of times. Once again not the fault of the hotel. Breakfast is top notch, with various different options and a chef who is only too willing to make delicious omelettes at your request. I declined the whiskey nip in porridge at 7.30am which is apparently a local tradition. Generally bar staff very good and professional at night so from my point of view this is a very acceptable branch of a Marriott chain. Obviously such places will always lack a personal touch but this hotel does everything which you might need it to do. Just a final negative, always double check your bill as I was charged 7 x £5 per night parking despite my car being 300 miles away!! I assume it to be an oversight. Otherwise I would recommended as a decent stay. Collapse

This hotel was very disappointing and not what im used to from the Marriot chain. The reception and check in was smooth enough and we were as Platinum members given a room on the executive 12th floor. When we arrived we noticed that the room thermostat was off so we turned it on and set it to 21deg. The fan / AC system roared into action but we could only find it blew hot stale air. Going out for dinner we complained to the front desk about the A/C and were told they would 'see what they could do'. After our return we found that their 'fix' was to sit a Dyson style fan in the bedroom and open the window facing over the M8 Kingston Bridge!. the temp in the room was still clicking out the thermostat at 28 deg and we were stewing in stale (now mixed with some CO traffic polution) Front desk told me there was nothing they could do as all the rooms were sold out. Properly spoiled my family get together Collapse

Had an overnight stay with my 2 year old son and husband for my birthday. From the moment we booked in to the moment we left we couldn't find a fault with the hotel, in any area. Reception staff pleasant when booking in (and leaving) and when passing cleaning staff on our way to the room they all smiled and said hello. Room was clean and had everything we needed, bed was large and comfy. Pool was tidy but recommend taking towel with you to poolside as a little walk from pool to changing room, again staff in this area couldn't do enough to help. Muriel at breakfast made such a fuss if my son and ended our stay on a high. I would highly recommend this hotel and if staying in Glasgow again would definitely stay there. Collapse

We were on a trip for my mum’s 85th birthday. The staff could not do enough for us, champagne, balloons and a card personally signed by the staff was such a wonderful gesture and made our mum feel so special. The concierge went out of his way to find us a restaurant in Glasgow on the Saturday night which was not fully booked and came up trumps. I had lost property returned to me so efficiently. I can’t praise them any more highly. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is I understand the rooms are being renovated and as comfortable as they are they are probably in need of a bit of an upgrade. Didn’t spoil anything though as the rooms were very comfortable. The location of this hotel is perfect right in the middle of everything with easy access. Collapse

My partner and I stayed at the Marriott for 5 nights about 3 weeks ago after he had a back operation at Ross Hall Hospital. The staff were so helpful and made our stay as comfortable as possible giving him extra pillows to help support his back. Nothing was too much for them. We've stayed a few times before and will be staying again. It's just that bit quieter being a 5 to 10 minute walk into the main area of shops and restaurants. That you so much to the bar staff who served up excellent Chardonnay and looked after the family when they came to see us for Sunday lunch in the bar. Also a big thank you to Sam, Amy and David at reception for all your help. See you soon. Collapse
