Stayed for 2 nights in a King Suite on my first visit to the Gild Hall Hotel. So glad I chose it. The neighborhood -- Financial District -- is an attractive alternative to the clatter of Midtown. The area is certainly lively but also oddly quiet and still has a village atmosphere. But the standout is the hotel itself. Above all, the staff are fantastic: special shout out to Rob on the front desk who ensured that I lacked for nothing during my stay. I just wish it had been longer. The suite was stylish and comfortable, attributes that don't always go together. I slept extremely well, not least because it was so quiet. I had breakfast in the hotel both days, with very good food and service. The bar was a real highlight: just bustling enough, with a friendly bartender and expert cocktails. The lobby -- all leather and woodwork -- is a great place just to hang out and read the NYT (available at the front desk). All in all, a wonderful stay and highly recommended. Collapse

My wife and I stayed at Gild Hall for 3 nights in December as part of an extended stay for Christmas. We wished we had had stayed here for the entire stay we loved it that much. The night we arrived in NY we had huge issues with our shuttle bus as it was over 2 hours late collecting us from the airport (that's completely unrelated to the hotel). When we finally arrived at the hotel we were greeted with warm smiles and helpful staff. We immediately felt completely at home as the hotel had a warm cozy feel. Upon check in I shared our shuttle experience with the young guy at reception and he without hesitation offered us a couple of complimentary drinks in the bar. This was a most grateful touch as it was in no way the hotel's fault our shuttle experience was poor. The room was very modern and in great condition. The whole hotel appeared to be recently renovated which was great. The Italian restaurant Felice at the hotel was amazing and was buzzing every night we were there. We loved it so much on the 1st night that we ate breakfast in the morning then dinner again on final evening. Price and quality wise is was probably our best dining experience in NY. The hotel being in FIDI is well away from the chaos that's Times Square. Its located close to the 911 memorial and museum and the ferry to Liberty Island. It's an easy walk to the Brooklyn Bridge as well. Stone Street which is short walk from the hotel has some great bars and restaurants and is located on a pedestrian only cobble stone street. Our overall experience in NY was not great for various reasons however if we were to return we would definitely return to Gild Hall and will recommend it to friends and family. Collapse

We recently went on a two-week vacation to New York. Gild Hall was an extraordinary surprise for us. It is full of the elegant glamour you would expect in New York, with great decor. The rooms were large for New York standards and always clean and extremely comfortable. But beyond all of this, that would have already been enough for us to want to come back, the absolutely best thing about Gild Hall, hands down, is the excellent, kind service we received from everyone working in the hotel. They went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home. When my older father's flight arrived 5 hours late at 2:00 a.m., Fitore helped him to his room with his suitcase and a bottle of water to make his ordeal a little more manageable. Every day we were received with smiles and help with directions, tickets, suggestions, and everything else we could possibly need or want. I could go on and on about service, and no amount of reviews would be enough. The only thing left to say is thank you so much, John Rob, Chris, Fitore, David and anyone else I haven’t mentioned. Thank you for making this trip more memorable than could have even dreamed of. All of you deserve a promotion, and of course, next time we go to New York, there is no other hotel we would stay at. We stayed here for 2 nights over New Years eve. From the moment we walked in we were impressed, the entrance is small, with dark wood accents, but is very welcoming. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly, he was talkative and funny and gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and drink. Our room was on the 17th floor, away from the elevators, we couldn't hear any traffic, which is very surprising considering it's the city that never sleeps. Our room was very clean and spacious with a massive tv. A couple of downsides would be there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, or a mirror in the bedroom, just in the bathroom. If you are looking to stay away from the usual tourist areas, this is perfect, with loads of amazing places to shop and eat close by. The restaurant next to the hotel was amazing and reasonably priced also. Collapse
