If you're looking for a relaxing, fun and exciting holiday, then please DO NOT come to Gemelos. We arrived late and had to walk around Benidorm to try and find our keys in the dark. We had to get them from another hotel only to be greeted with a man who couldn't speak and checked me for calling him 20+ times (which I didn't but I did call his hotel on three occasions because we were stuck in the street and another family had a small baby). He couldn't speak much english and also a presented us with a security charge. After finally, what felt like an eternity, we got our keys. The apartment was smelling of dampness and felt as though it hadn't been vented for a long period of time. There was no aircon, no TV, no Wifi, no hand soap and one toilet roll. 3 days into the holiday the heat was unbearable so we went to the reception at the bottom of the towers - a lady there told us she cannot help us, we must walk a few miles to the beach office if we need any help....( what if there was an emergency?) Once we reached the beach office we asked about the aircon; the aircon is €5 per day and we had to pay €35 to last the rest of our holiday. We do not have a cleaner, fresh bedsheets...nothing!! Basically give me your money and get on with it. We were told the staff would only change the bedsheets 14 days into the holiday. The lift elevator screens do not work and therefore you can't tell which floor your on, and when you do reach the landing it's in darkness until you have to switch the light on yourself (outside of the elevator) which surely is a security risk! (I work in building that have automatic lights) so I know how this could be resolved. The elevators aircon leaks and splashes down onto you. The swimming pools are great - clean, spacious and good fun although if you want to relax on a sun lounger you .....(wait for it.....) HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY!Everything is very money orientated and I completely understand this, but if Gemelos want to enhance their business then perhaps they need to re-evaluate their services because I won't be returning here. Hotel Dynastic or Hotel Nero appear much better from my balcony and I will give them my business next time. Collapse

We decided to book up for a last minute holiday and booked through A1 travel. This hotel was suggested to us as it got fairly good reviews and wasn't overly expensive, however we still paid a good amount for it. We arrived on Monday evening about 10pm. The reception was not open which I already knew about but had expected there to be a sign of some sort at the reception telling us where to collect our keys from. I had messaged the hotel via Facebook beforehand asking where we were to go but they never replied. Anyway we arrived and there was nothing at reception. Everything was in Spanish which was absolutely no help at all. There was nobody around to ask. So we checked all our paperwork and it told us to collect our stuff from hotel Buenavista. We met an Irish family who were in the same boat as us. We spent ages trying to find where that was because if you're like me... I'm not great with directions in a foreign country I've only been to once before. We called the man who owned Buenavista and he tried to direct us however his English wasn't great. Just a note for anyone arriving at night: KEYS ARE AT THE BUENAVISTA. But to add to confusion up until 20:30 - collection is at the actual Buenavista offices down the beach front!! Mega confusing and I don't know why they do that. It took us about an hour or so to get the keys and get to our apartment which isn't ideal after all that travelling. When we eventually got to our apartment (tower 2) it's no surprise - it's basic. It was fine though. Nice bathroom, sofa bed is fairly comfy and the balcony is lovely - great views. The shower is also very powerful which is nice. It was however very hot in our room as it was 27* outside and I couldn't find the remote for the aircon... So after a restless night in a hot apartment, we went down to reception when it opened in the morning only to be told that they don't deal with our apartments!! We must go down to the beach front and deal with Fincas Benidorm. I still don't get why! So we traipsed down to the beach (which in fairness is only a 10 min walk). The man in Fincas Benidorm wasn't the most pleasant of people but I'm not sure if that was just the language barrier. However he basically told us that aircon, TV and WiFi are not included and that we must buy them separately. This is annoying as 9/10 hotels I've been to are equipped with WiFi and aircon. We also questioned about someone coming to clean our room and change the sheets, however were also told that they don't do that unless you're staying for 2 weeks... even though we are staying 10 days!! To sum it up. It's a basic hotel. You really are left to your own devices if you like that sort of thing. The views are nice and the hotel is clean but there is no room services, WiFi, aircon or TV. You are expected to get your own toiletries normal hotels provide. Also anytime you need something you need to walk to the beach as the reception downstairs may not always cover your hotel. I'm sad to say I won't be back. Collapse

the complex was very secure, pools were great, the apartment was like being at home a couch and kitchen and 2 bathrooms which we didnt expect one was an en suite, the were rules to the apartment which were often not followed ie getting in the lift wet and people coming back at all hours in the morning and either shouting, singing or arguing think a night watchman would be a good idea to keep and eye on things from a safety aspect as there are stairs to different blocks and if someone fell they could get help straight away Collapse

Pool is excellent, three and very nice. during hot days you find shadowed areas and fresh wind between apartments. Residence is the crowdede and old part of Benidorm, rightly out of it you feel in big city. Ponente is more suggestable then Levante for its quiteness if you look for that. Apartment is in the average we appreciated we had a washing machine not forecasted. share well in booking what is air conditioned, mobile A/C as we had is a movable air-co which does not give too much help in very hot days as we had. booked through website got the key from hotel Dynastic 50 metres distant at 18:30. Suggestable if you look for average apartment but excellent common areas. Collapse

This is our fourth year to stay in the gemelos22. We as a family always felt safe and secure in this building great pool for kids football and tennis , security guards at nite. We book our accommodation every year threw travel republic last year and this year though we have had to collect our keys down along the beach from a company who part owns some apartments at the gemelos22 called fincas. We arrived 11/08/17 the following day a young gentleman knocked our apartment door when my husband opened the door the man turned and walked away we never thought no more about it. That nite we went out with our kids for a while came back to apartments around eleven. The next morning we got up to go to the local market. When I went to my case for our money it was gone all was left was the envelope. We weren't told about a safe at the fincas this is why I kept money in the case. Someone used a key to come into our apartment to take our money. When I reported to hotel staff the lady said I should report it to fincas I did and the gentleman response was what can I do shrugged his shoulders and said he would change the lock. Other families that we spoke to around pool area after that had mentioned young men at their doors on one occasion one family had said they had been sitting in apartment when two boys had just walkied into their apartment turning a key in the door. On 17/08/17 it was our last nite we headed out for a while. We had all our cases packed as we were traveling during nite when we arrived back at apartment every light was burning. So obviously someone had paid us a visit again even though the locks where changed. A scary experience. Please be careful if you visit here it's cash they want and it seems to be British and Irish tourists that are being targeted. If you book gemelos22 threw travel republic speak to an advisor and tell them you want keys from main reception not fincas. Collapse
