Everything about this hotel is draining to your wallet. On check in they didn't have the room I booked 6 months before. Had to settle for a room a mile away from the convention. And I don't exaggerate. Our room was so far away we physically felt drained finding it. And no help offered to help with the suitcases .It took 45 minutes to check in and nearly all employees speak another language. At least 3 times we asked for some help locating our room and could not get a English speaking person. There are no places in the hotel to get a sandwich or some sort of quick cheap food. You either have to order in room or go to one of their in house restaurants which are very very expensive. The building is very confusing and easy to get lost. I had an upset stomach and did find pepto in one of their shoppes but it cost 13.00 for a very small bottle I could of downed in one gulp. And outside the bottle had a price tag of 5.99?? You have to pay $30 a person for the shuttle to and from the airport which isn't that far away. We've been to the Gaylord in dc and prefer it much more. The beds don't have fitted sheets. I hate when the sheet comes off with normal use. It cost 5.00 at their ATM to get my own money.. The room was clean but small. Small closet. Beds pretty good. But wow, the money! Collapse

We spent three nights at the Opryland Hotel and came away with mixed reviews. You know going in that this is an enormous hotel and an experience in and of itself. We found the hotel staff to be personable and helpful and the place has the veneer of being a world class hotel. The rooms are fairly modest and a tad dated - ours had two queen beds but no seating area. There are something like 18 different restaurants on the grounds but we found them lacking. We had dinner at the Wine Bar one evening and were surprised when our server told us that they were "out of most of the wine on the wine list". He did his best but one wonders how a self described wine bar can be out of wine? We decided to go to the Mexican place next door for an after dinner drink and were greeted with a messy bar top and a bartender that immediately announced that we wouldn't be able to order food because they were closing at 9 PM which was 10 minutes away. There are many nice things about the Opryland Hotel but we found a lot of the finer details that are table stake at elite facilities lacking here. Collapse

I have a problem with hotels that charge $300-$400 for rooms to stick it to their guests with exorbitant ATM fees! It's a principal thing. The hotel might claim the ATM company is independent, but the hotel is still accountable whether they're getting a cut or not. Nice hotel otherwise. Collapse

Stayed here for 5 nights for a meeting. Took the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I got my ticket for it ahead of time on-line but you can purchase at a booth downstairs by the exit to ground transportation. Much cheaper than a cab. Runs every 1/2 hour. Got checked in quickly and staff was very helpful. Check-in can be very busy with all the conventions they have so I suggest checking in using the Marriott ap. It was super easy and I only waited on one person in front of me to check in while the regular line had about 30 folks in it. Room was very nice and had a balcony overlooking one of the atriums. Hotel is very large and will take you a couple days to figure it out. Ate at several of the restaurants and was pleasantly surprised that the prices weren't way out of line and the quality of the food was great. As I left the hotel to go back to the airport I realized I left a charger in the room. I called and the customer service person took my info and sent security to the room to retrieve it and they sent it to me FedEx overnight delivery. Unbelievable!!!! They certainly did not have to perform that level of customer care but were super happy to do it and I am thrilled with them. Super job well done! Collapse

My husband had a conference on a mon/tues so we decided to stay Saturday -Monday nights. We stayed in the Cascades on the 6th floor. Our room was upgraded, but didn't get balcony or king bed originally asked for. We were upgraded to a room with a better view overlooking the central garden area which was absolutely beautiful! Our room was nice and roomy with two queens and sofa area with lots of windows. We had great maid service and our room was nice and clean, if you opt out of room service, you can get an additional 500 points. Several restaurants to choose from a sports bar to sushi to fast food Stax hamburgers. There is shuttle service between the hotel and Opry Mills outlet shopping center, their is also a movie theater here. Service runs about every 20 minutes. There is also service going downtown. Which is fun to experience Broadway, the Ryman, country music hall of fame and some museums. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with the central garden areas. Very pleasant! The only downfall was that sometimes you have to walk a bit from your room to lobby or wherever you are going. The place is huge and confusing at first to get around. The signage could be more helpful when stepping off an elevator to point you to the nearest lobby area. The Grand Ole Opry is within walking distance and their backstage tours are fun! Collapse
