This place is so beautiful! We came in town for a wedding. However the rudeness was appalling! As we checked in the lady that was responsible for that was frustrated as we had to change some information and we needed to get a room near my parents. She was almost striking her keyboard in anger, as she actually rolled her eyes at me. Seriously, I’m paying $300 a night for this!? For breakfast my son went to get coffee and drinks and asked for almond milk for my coffee, they walked away and never returned. Then we went tried to get lunch and we tried 3 different places and they were all closed. One was a pub, one was a burger place, and another was a cafe. We finally found a coffee shop and got a sandwich. The wedding was beautiful and all went very well with that. As I left after the wedding I was double charged for parking and couldn’t get out of the lot. I went back in and the lady was kind and gave me a key card to get out, but it didn’t work. After 4 tries they finally answered the assistance button and let me out. I gave this a 3 as it was decorated beautifully, but for the hospitality industry they really need to train their employees. Sad to pay so much for a room and they treat you so rudely. Collapse
Beautiful as always, especially at Christmas, but not perfection

The Opryland Resort is always stunning at Christmas - the lights, poinsettia trees, Christmas trees, etc. Since we had not stayed here in a few years, we were pleased to learn some of the rooms (maybe all?) had been renovated and our room (in the Garden section) was very trendy and up-to-date. As a Marriott Gold Elite member, we were given an upgrade to a room with an atrium view which we especially enjoyed. All of the staff members we interacted with were courteous and professional. As mentioned in other reviews, the lines can be extremely long and frustrating. We stood in the line for Gold Elite customers, and had already checked in via the Marriott app, but neither helped with regard to our wait. There isn't a kiosk where you can pick up your room key if you have already checked in! There is an employee who floats among the crowd attempting to offer advice, but there is little he can do to speed up the process. I don't know if they are understaffed or if sheer volume is the culprit. At peak times, expect to wait at least 30 minutes in the check-in lines. Since we were early, no rooms were available so we checked our luggage with the bellman. Even though they checked us in (again), we had to go back through the line to pick up our room keys when the room was ready. Fortunately, we returned much later in the day so the lines were very short. Our only major issue was noise. The atrium view is aesthetically pleasing, but the noise level is worse when you have a room overlooking the atrium. Also, we had a room full of unsupervised children next door and had to call the front desk twice before the matter was finally resolved around midnight. Tip: If you self-park for $29/day, make sure you keep a room key when you check out of the hotel because you will need it to get out of the parking lot! No one mentioned this to us, but fortunately one of the members of our party had kept their room key. Collapse

The room was very nice and clean. The housekeeper on Delta 6 was Irene I think. She did an awesome job . The rooms are hard to locate as all hallways are identical. It was quite a distance uphill from registration to the elevator to my room. Lots of "lost folks" so I was not alone in my quest to locate the right "sleeve" that would ultimately take me to my room. The convention center was quite nice as I was there on business. I could only locate three of the restaurants. They do not serve a free breakfast. There is a coffee pot in the room and they give you two bottle of water daily if you have maid service. I joined their rewards program but I guess it did not take since I did not receive anything welcoming me or points. Bummer.. Expensive place. I called the front desk to inquire about a 4 a.m. cab and ended up having to make the trip to the front desk as the girl was new and could not help me. Once I got there, I was given a card with a number to call. I wish they had just said, come to the lobby in the morning and cabs will be here for you, just walk outside and they will fight over you. (Which did happen). Not so pleasant. They were setting up for Christmas and it was beautiful. I would not rush back but overall, it was a pleasant stay. Collapse

Stayed here with friends while doing a Deep South tour, the hotel is amazing ,the Christmas lights took our breath away so pretty. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and we found the phone app a great asset to the hotel as it’s so big and quite easy to loose your way around,we didn’t get to see everything there as we only had two nights but for families with young children it was amazing. I’ve only given four stars as the breakfast although plentiful was only just warm a bit of a let down.would I recommend this place yes,and I would love to go back. Collapse
