Overall I will say that resort is clean and an interesting place with nice gardens etc., unfortunately, those are the only nice things I can really say about it. The only reason I would stay here is if there is a conference at the hotel. It is expensive and very out of the way. Check-in was easy and I didn't have any problems, just be aware that that place is huge and your room might not be easy to find and could be a long walk. Room: I reserved a suite, and although there was sufficient space in the room it was very poorly designed. First off, there were only 3 lamps in the entire suite - 1 in the bedroom and 2 in the living room - at night there was nowhere close to enough light. There was also only 1 outlet at the desk which I found frustrating when trying to work and charge my various devices. One of the weirdest things was the TV in the bedroom - I attached a photo so you can see the tv was on a wall that didn't face the bed, and you couldn't angle the tv, or pull it away from the wall. In the end, if you wanted to watch TV in bed you watched it at a 15-degree angle. Just a very questionable design choice. Wake up call - they have celebrity wake up call that I found amusing, what I didn't find amusing was that if you don't answer if they will break into your room. I was just getting out of the shower when I heard someone trying to force their way through the deadbolt. I was surprised to find that it was building security. If I hadn't latched the deadbolt they would have walked straight into the room. Also, this was 10 minutes after the wake-up call. They should just call again to follow up. This happened to one of my coworkers too, who did not use the deadbolt and was not happy to have an unknown man enter her room uninvited. I really didn't think this was appropriate. Food - you are not really close to much and they know it so food is very expensive. I took my team to Sushi and our meal was more expensive than Morimoto in NY. It wasn't particularly good, so paying the amounts we did was disappointing. The conference aspect of the hotel was pretty good, the facilities were well maintained etc., I just can't recommend it to anyone. Collapse
I have been in some places. This one beats them all. It was worth the long bus trip we made to get there.

Great Destination Property!

Although the desk staff could use some training (not well versed in the check in or parking process), the property itself is worth the visit. We had a nice room overlooking the atrium and had a great stay.

After reading some negative reviews and knowing that we were traveling to the Gaylord for one of the biggest events that they host I was concerned. Our stay was amazing! Check in was smooth thanks to DaDa who answered all of our questions and managed to get the 8 rooms for our group all within the Cascades area. She handled all of our special requests and was very pleasant to work with. Our rooms were very clean and we had wonderful balconies that were a treat to sit on during our breaks. This property is large but finding our way to the convention area was easy. The Chess tournament did bring in several thousand students but the hotel handled the volume with ease. The only wait I encountered the entire weekend was at the coffee shop. We took advantage of the Mall nearby for some of our meals because traveling with a group of middle school students can be tricky and the food court provided a great variety. Judy at the Concierge desk helped our group secure discounted tickets to a local attraction. The positive experience continued after the stay when Mr. Wes Chandler sent me the receipts of all of the rooms via email for accounting purposes. Will definitely stay at Gaylord again if in Nashville! Collapse

The room itself was ok but finding it could take a long time. Their little maps are nearly useless; staff if you were able to find someone could only wave in a direction and say, "i think it is in that direction" It was equally challenging to leave the room and be able to find it when you wanted to return. We used Valet parking and had to wait 20 min to get to the door. Returning the next afternoon, waited thirty five minutes to return valet parked car. Only one staff person working. Never saw a bellman. Management is so poor. Collapse
