The only downfall to this hotel is that because it doesn't limit outside guests, you can't fully enjoy the inside. Crowds within the gardens, restaurants, etc are very thick. If you want to have a peaceful look at the gorgeous holiday decorations, you need to get up early. Hot tub is outdoors and pool area is OK. Rooms are small, but clean. Housekeeping was good. They only have light blankets so if you get cold at night, call for an extra. And make sure you stay at least two nights. Collapse

My girlfriend and I attended the Opryland lights show tonight. While the lights were enjoyable, the parking prices and unavailability of parking ruined the experience. While parking was available two years ago in the bus lot for free, even those spaces charged $20.00 this year. After attempting to find more affordable parking in the labyrinth of heavily trafficked streets around the hotel, we ultimately gave in and parked in one of the lots an attendant told us was $24.00 (without mention of any additional cost for state sales taxes). Open spaces in the lot were scarce, and many vehicles parked in places that were not parking spaces. Upon leaving, the ticket machine indicated we owed $26.22. I buzzed for the attendant (who was in a shack literally three feet away) to ask about the price difference from what the attendant indicated. Frankly, the attendant was rude (ignoring me for several minutes and then opening dialog with me with the statement "Are you confused about something?" The attendant said the extra amount of is for sales tax, which is a valid explanation aside from the fact we were not previously advised sales tax would be applied (I don't recall sales tax ever being withheld for parking anywhere I've ever attended). My complaint revolves around three points: 1) The lack of affordable parking options is disappointing; 2) there was insufficient advance notice about the addition of sales tax to the parking fee; 3) the attendant was rude in addressing the issue. This was my first trip to this property for a medical conference. This resort is absolutely beautiful with lush gardens, fountains, and even a river running throughout the property that one can take gondola like boat rides! The property is very large and there is a lot of walking from hotel rooms to the several large conference centers. But with a property and convention center this large, also comes large crowds. There are many restaurants to choose from, though some are high priced. Rooms are comfortable and clean and surprisingly quiet, in spite of the huge capacity of the hotel. I was fortunate to get a reduced rate at slightly under $200 a night. However, I would guess the regular rate is quite expensive. If you are looking for a full-service all-inclusive resort, in a city with much to offer, this may be for you. Collapse
Lacking customer service plus all the added fees!

Not super impressed with this place. After coming directly from another hotel that showed exemplary customer service, this one was less than ideal. It started with check-in where the staff seemed more interested in moving people along than answering questions and helping to better explain. It continued when the maid routinely came around 6pm or after. One time we came back from dinner and the room still wasn’t made up, so we had to flag someone down the hall. Another day we had been out walking around historic sites all day long and hoped to spend the evening resting our tired feet in the room, only to come back and find they had just started to clean our room. Once our checkout day came, they came knocking at our door before 9am making sure we were checking out that day. It definitely makes you feel like an afterthought until the day you leave and then they make you a priority. The night before we left we found out that you can request a time for the maid to come. Even if we knew this ahead of time I don’t think we would have requested anything because we have never experienced an issue like this before anywhere else. If you stay here I would highly suggest requesting a time for the maid to come. The other thing that left a sour taste in our mouth is everything is pay, pay, pay or you get hit with added fees you may have not known about. Looking back, it definitely felt like a mega organization looking for additional ways to squeeze more money from their guests. If you don’t sign up for excursions or have a car (which is an additional fee), there really isn’t a whole lot to do at the hotel other than walking around the gardens. We luckily had a car so we weren’t as restricted and ate most of our meals elsewhere because the food prices were extremely high. Overall however, the room was very comfortable and the place is very well kept up and maintained. It just seemed like the size of the hotel may have affected their overall customer service and money hungry tactics – don’t expect to come here and get waited upon! Collapse

This resort is beautiful, especially decorated for Christmas. The beds were very comfortable and shower was good. There is a lot of walking to get anywhere. Food/drink inside the restaurants is very expensive (there is Starbucks!). You really don't have to leave the resort, but you should! Uber to/from the airport was about $15 each way. Uber to downtown was about $15. We did pay $27 once from Five Points area to the resort. You can easily walk over to the outlet mall and Grand Ol' Opry. Next time we would stay downtown, but this resort is great! Collapse
