We've just returned home following 8 fantastic nights at this hotel. This was our second visit here and was just as good as our first. Location is spot on really central with bars, restaurants, shops and beaches on your doorstep. All staff are friendly and hard working, we emailed ahead of our visit for a preferred room and we weren't disappointed. Kayla and her entertainment team are amazing, the lion king was mesmerising with masks and choreography created by the talented Kayla. My 13 year old daughter and I took part in the aqua gym at midday and loved Christina's sessions as they were crazy just laughed all the way through. Food and drink was great, the snacks were a little hit and miss but on those occasions went for lunch in the dining room. The sunbed situation isn't the worst we've experienced, we used to get down to the main pool at around 9am and stand in our preferred spot ready for the beds to be unlocked between 9.20am and 9.30am, it was busier some mornings more than others and you were quite snug to your sunbed neighbours. We love this resort and will definitely chose this accommodation for a 3rd time. Thank you Ariel Chico. X Collapse

We did not realise how long the transfer would take to our hotel in Cala D'Or we arrived after midnight but the friendly staff were fantastic they offered us some dinner even though it was way past the time for dinner. They were great on check out as well with allowing us lunch and access to the pool and the shower. The only issues we had was it being peak season it was very busy at lunchtime and dinner time. It is a hotel that mainly has Netherlands and French visitors when we were there. The balcony felt a little dangerous as it was sloping. The cleanliness was great. If you bear in mind all the different nationalities they had to cater for the food was great. The rooms were a little dated. The aircon was great. We loved it being at the heart of Cala D'Or. The entertainment staff were fantastic a real credit to the hotel. If you love all inclusive and don't mind the busy times when eating this hotel will be for you. The pool was great but having to get up at 08:30 to get a sunbed was not so fun. If the hotel was a little less busy then it would have rated higher for us. Collapse

Just returned from a 7 night stay here, to get the negative point out of the way the hotel in my opinion was too full.. if you wasn't by the main pool laying your towels down for 9am you could forget getting a sun bed , we had to be down by the pool for 9am and then sit and wait till 9.20am till the men in blue came and unchained the sun beds. Just to add there is other pools in the complex but as we was travelling with 4 children we wanted to be situated where the animation team did there activities. Now for the positives, the hotel was beautiful well maintained and clean our 2 bedroomed apartment was perfect. All staff where friendly the receptionist emi was always happy to help and go that extra mile. The animation team where great.. such a laugh and always made you smile, they put on great shows and kept us all entertained. The food was great always plenty of choice and hot food I really enjoyed meals times. The location is great just a 3 minute walk to the beach and lots of bars restaurants and shops just on the door step. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would love to return again but maybe at a less busy time :) Collapse

Overall a good holiday. Details below:- Rooms - we had a 1 bed apt behind the building where the main pool is. A bit tired & dated, needed a bit of a facelift - rust around taps, dirty grouting, constant drip of water from upstairs and ants. Rooms are "cleaned" every 2/3 days and towels we think are replaced every day if you need them (put them on floor if you want them replaced). However, our room wasn't cleaned very well as there were lots of crumbs from previous guests which weren't cleaned away & the crockery was filthy. Air con was brilliant though. Pool areas - we only used the main pool, can't comment on the others. Lovely pool, always clean & well maintained. Gets very busy. Sun beds - this was an issue for the first few days, but not so much of a problem later in the holiday. If you want a prime position & the best sunbeds, then you'll need to be up early to reserve your spot. Sun beds are unlocked at 9.30, but people are there from 8.30 putting their towels down. Then you basically need to wait there in order to grab the sun bed you want (there are good sun beds and not so good ones & everyone wants the good silver ones!). Food - breakfast is good, varied with fresh pastries, pancakes etc plus full English etc. Lunch is ok, however dinner is a bit disappointing, but overall we managed to eat pretty well & never went hungry. The all inclusive drinks & ice cream are great, kids can just help themselves whenever they like. Coffee is rubbish though so we bought our own. We got a bit fed up of the same old stuff to eat, so we had a couple of meals out in town which were lovely. Expensive though, so the all inclusive is excellent value. Staff - no issues here. Everyone helpful and friendly. They all work very hard. Entertainment - the staff work hard to put on a good show, but some of it is very cheesy & cringe-worthy, so we spent most of our evenings out in town to get away from it! Great for little ones though. Daytime activities are good and, again, staff are always on the go & always smiling. Location - excellent. Right in the heart of it, close to beach, shops & restaurants. Overall a good holiday, but wouldn't go back to Ariel Chico. Collapse

Really loved it. Great hotel, very clean, staff are friendly and can't do enough to help you. There is a main pool which is large and several smaller ones that are ideal for younger kids. There was no problem securing sun beds when unlocked at 0930 and enough room by the pool for all. Food is good with something different every day We will return. Collapse
