Brilliant hotel for a family holiday. Went fully inclusive and found the food to be excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. The animation team are on hand all day to provide activities to keep you busy and entertained. The hotel and apartments are set in a great location, two minutes from the beach and a ten minute walk from the marina. The hotel has five swimming pools, volley ball court, table tennis, mini golf and billiards. Plenty to keep the teenagers happy. The cleanliness of the rooms and all public areas is exemplary. Would recommend. Collapse

Just returned from our 5 night stay at Ariel Chico. Room was a one bedroom apartment, basic ⭐⭐⭐ but clean and tidy and suited our needs. Food a bit hit and miss, breakfast and lunch were OK, evening dinner not so good and some nights struggled to put a balanced meal together with lots of dishes not replenished leaving empty buffet counters. It wasn't a pleasant eating experience and I sometimes felt I was being hurried. Drinks were fine, but I do have to agree with other reviewers that some of the bar staff have had a personality bypass. Pools were pretty cold but hey it is the back end of October. We stayed in apartment A6 and here lies my biggest gripe...the balcony overlooks private residences, one in particular has a large dog chained up outside that barks constantly from dawn to dusk. If you think you'll be able to have a peaceful glass of vino on your balcony forget it. This is no criticism whatsoever of the hotel as it's out of their control but think it's important enough to mention it. Overall I found the hotel average and with some changes could offer so much more... It really is a case of you get what you pay for Collapse

Just back from a one week stay at the Ariel Chico hotel. Have been traveling to Cala Dor for several years but this was my first visit here. The rooms are fairly basic what you would expect for 3 star, for the amount of time we spent in our room it set up a good base. On arrival noticed WiFi was not free, had to pay £20 euro for a week's worth on one device not advertising as pay for as I rely on my phone a lot when I am away. Need to address the advertising of this. Reception staff where lovely on arrival room was ready on arrival our other parties room was slightly less inviting as our own no balcony as such as it lead onto a rooftop. No kettle allow had a pot to boil water wouldn't go a miss. Also charged 10 Europe deposit on a iron which burnt an expensive top. Food for all inclusive was great did find breakfast and lunch the best to dine at, dinner I found very hard to make a plate up for dinner it felt more like a canteen dinner menu than evening meal, did eat out twice for dinner as didn't feel 7 nights of dinner would be bearable, one night the cook was very eager to get chicken out because of the que of people waiting at the grill unfortunately I noticed my chicken wasn't cooked which made that night a uneatable dinner at the restaurant, it did feel at times no structure and a free for all with the sheer amount of people there. Breakfast and lunch couldn't fault it was the right things to eat at that time, very basic burgers, chips, hotdogs at pool as well which was good for a snack. More healthy items wouldn't go a miss again due to being diabetic I found a lot of the food carbs and pasta, pasta and salad provided looked on the turn daily. All inclusive drink was great for my party apart from me (again due to diabetes) and had choice of water and diet coke all week maybe should be more inclusive sugar free items which may help other people in my position. Some of the barstaff waiters where great especially Farah, Irene, Rachael they are a credit to you and made our days lovely when we meet them, some of your male staff however are very rude and don't even look like they want to be there found them very unpleasant and maybe a lesson in manners and customer satisfaction wouldn't go a miss. One guy closed the reception bar early at 10 so he could help with pool bar wasn't fair that people who didn't want to go there couldn't have drink unless going over. The entertainment team you have there are a credit to you. I rarely do night time entertainment as I normally find a bar else where but my party throughly enjoyed them again a credit to your resort and they work very hard. One concern was the comedy show on Friday night could possibly be taken a lot of offense I would maybe reconsider this show. All in all a good week for the price you pay it is fairly decent if your a picky eater I wouldn't suggest it, young families with kids this would be a good spot. Collapse

After being let down by low cost holidays the hotel let us rebook straight through them we arrived at reception 8th oct for 8 nights and greeted by Laura who said she was the one who had emailed me sorting my booking out she was really pleasant and showed us across the road as the complex is across both sides of the road we had a lovely room lovely and clean and quite modern and overlooking the main pool I asked for more pillows they were there by the time we had looked round the complex we had lots of clean towels through the week and beds made every day rooms are cleaned 3 times a week . We had a fantastic holiday at this hotel after a lot of worry with having to rebook the room transfers ect. We both loved the food best we have had at any AI so much choice great breakfast loads of choice even freshly cook pancakes lunch and dinner always something u liked roast beef/pork carved for u even ribs one night that fell apart always something cooked fresh on the show stand meat or fish ECT loads of lovely fresh salad dishes only thing I didn't like was the mash was like wallpaper paste ! Can't believe that was so bad as every rice dish different rice dishes most days lunch and dinner full of flavour, we had apple crumble ,apple pie 4 different ice creams you could scoop yourself every lunch and dinner with choc flakes and sauces, even had PG tips lovely to have a decent cup of tea for breakfast and all soft drinks , wines , beers coffee hot choc ect self service we can't fault this hotel lovely pool clean and tidy areas all around spirits served at pool bar and bar across the road next to dinning room bar staff were not that friendly infact one girl who also worked in dinning room was quite rude, we found reception staff friendly always smiled and said hello as you walked past most of the dinning staff were ok and worked really hard the animation team were all friendly and did a movies show on the Monday we were there they were really good but a couple were going home the next day so wasn t that much on rest of week except one really good band on the Thursday which was great as my partner really enjoyed it and it was his birthday so that was really good Cala D'or is lovely loads of shops and bars lovely Marina to walk to really nice resort . We would highly recommended this hotel Collapse

Great hotel, we stayed in room Ground floor 117 and it was very clean, airy and spacious. Food great, amenities great but the weather was bad which the hotel can't control. I would also like to point out though that I fully appreciate the entertainment staff need a night off but a Saturday? Seems weird that is the night you would have no entertainment! The management need to have a word with the bar staff though especially at the entertainment square cos they were more interested in chatting to each other than serving staff. Also, the guy with the beard at reception needs to learn to crack a smile but all in all, a very good hotel and I wouldn't hesitate in paying a return visit. Collapse
