Massive hotel with amazing seaside views In a beautiful reception area We had a nice welcome when we arrived a busy day of check ins it seemed we were checked in super fast no waiting around (with 3 young kids hanging of you it's hard to hang around) I appreciate quick check ins The room was beautiful it was spacious nicely furnished, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom clean and stylish There was also balcony in our room which had fab sea views also spotted the outdoor hot tub from our balcony which looked superb i would never get a way from the kids long enough to enjoy that cool feature We went to the pool it had nice private showers and nice changing area with hair dryers I did think there was a smell of urine In the changing room area The pool was gorgeous the whole area seemed clean and well maintained- no baby pool was a bit of a downer for us but we managed and the kids enjoyed it - there is kids allocated times to use the pool We went for dinner in the bar restaurant very comfortable and the staff were welcoming the menu wasn't that great for the vegetarian/vegan people but to be fair between salad chips onion rings sandwiches and soup we had a lovely meal little bellies were happy and that was my priority So the kids entertainment was a cinema night which I found strange because we have had cinema nights in other hotels and always been supervised and parents didn't have to stay not a massive thing having to stay there was a popcorn and drinks table set up I think it was boring for my kids 6 and 4 and an almost 2 year old they were expecting a kids club type of night The breakfast was a buffet or order from the menu The kids love all the pastries available and the beautiful brown bread was a hit too We checked out soon after breakfast I found the hotel a real gem of a place a nice calm environment overall just what you want on a night a way I would most definitely go back and for more than one night for sure Collapse

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday 11th of February. We were really looking forward to the break, unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. The hotel to be fair looks really well throughout. We were looking forward to a relaxing time in their leisure centre only to be told by Conor who I knew that they were closing at 6pm as there was a members night, on booking we were never told this, in my opinion we should of been. We went to the bistro for a light lunch before our dinner which was booked for 8pm the seafood plate was well presented but the carpet under our feet was filthy and had food on the floor, this was quite noticeable to the staff but they were to busy speaking to each other instead of keeping the bistro area clean and presentable for it's customers. After finishing our food and 2 drinks my wife went to pay for the food which a young barman undercharged us and never took for our drinks, while we brought this to his attention he did not give it to much thought. We then went into the bar to watch the Wales v England rugby game the bar itself was freezing for the hour we stayed until an older gent who came on duty came out and lit the stove. After our meal that evening on a number of occasions we were constantly left waiting at the bar waiting to be served. The bar itself was quite as members from the leisure centre had their own function in a separate room. To top it all off, I went to the bar around 11.30pm to be served by a barman who could not fill a pint, he obviously came out from the function room. Other customers on the night noticed this also. All of the above complaints are factual, we may just of been unlucky with the swimming pool closing early, been undercharged, cold bar and poor bar service, But I felt as a person in the bar industry for the last 25 years I needed to highlight these issues. If we do stay at this hotel again, I would hope that these issues would all be addressed. For the record we stayed in room 106. Collapse

From Start to Finish we had a wonderful experience at the Garryvoe Hotel. The customer service experienced throughout the hotel was top class and is a credit to the staff and Management. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere from the minute you step through the door. We stayed on the third floor having received a complimentary upgrade to a sea view room. The standard within the Leisure Centre with its outdoor Hot Tub was first class and so well maintained. We had the pleasure of dinning in the restaurant and the quality and variety of the food on offer was top class. Cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and looking forward to a return visit very soon. Collapse
