My friend and I got this 4 night city break cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for, but the star rating must be wrong.. this hotel is ok upon entrance thou the tall man who was smoking out side when we arrived was miserable. Room on first floor 102 went in the lift. When we got into the room 1 double bed which was 2 singles together and a itchy blanket and throw, room very dull and dated but it had to do, large bathroom with shower tape on bath no shower curtain or screen. There is a fridge with drinks in priced at 2euro plus, a kettle 2 tea bags 4 sugars no milk or cream a TV but no English channels only BBC news. The hotel room is clean just very old and dated. Due to the nature of our visit we was only in the room to sleep shower and get dressed we spent the whole day out. Breakfast was horrid cooked meats juice cereal fruit few pastries and very dry cakes and bread oh and boiled eggs, not very appetising again we brought things while out. We came to Rome as a last minute thing for Hira's birthday, I recommend to pay that little extra and stay in a better bigger Hotel this one I rate as 2 star. It's old dated and smells musky on stairway, but we made the most of our time in Rome site seeing and spent as little time as poss in the hotel. Collapse

Hotel personnel were friendly, rooms were clean, breakfast was appealing. During breakfast there was a variety of fruits, fresh pastry, and coffee, juice or tea. Location was centralized and close to modes of transportation (subway, train station and bus stops). Concierge was very helpful that he contacted our shuttle in order to have reservations for us to be picked up on time to take us to airport. Collapse

My husband and I stayed for five nights to celebrate our 40th birthdays. Although decor was tired it felt very old Italian which is what we wanted. We stayed on the 4th floor. Nice large room with large ensuite shower. Bed sheets and towels changed daily. No noise at night unless we kept window open which we did on occasion as air con wasn't working but still slept really well. Only criticism is that the brochure said there was a bar- there is in the dining area but it is not set up as a bar so this should be changed in the brochure; however there is a minibar. This was not a problem for us as the supermarket is around the corner and bottles of lager were €1.08 and red wine €6.99 for 1.5l and even cheaper for cartons etc . We were allowed to sit on the roof terrace with our drinks and were lent a corkscrew for the wine and used glasses from our room. This probably saved us around €20 per day as drinks from bars and restaurants were over €5. The roof terrace was lovely with amazing views so we were more than happy to return after a long day of sightseeing to pop into supermarket and straight to roof terrace for a couple of drinks before getting ready for an evening out. This hotel isn't modern but it is clean so I would recommend it as it is literally 10 mins from all the main sights, there are bars and restaurants just outside and the bus stop for Green Line tour bus is on the other side of the square so is a fantastic location. Although not hotel related book fast track tickets for any sightseeing e.g. Colosseum, Vatican etc from home as queues for tickets are ridiculously long ( tickets for Colosseum, Palantine Hill and Roman Forum cost around £13 for all 3 which is slightly cheaper than in Rome) you will have to queue for the sights themselves but this saves so much time with tickets. Also the hotel sells Green line tickets for tour bus which is a must see and run every 10 mins. We got off at the Vatican and hopped straight on afterwards. We paid €18 each for a day hop on and off tour but if you stay on it's €15. Collapse

Upon arrival the reception area was nice enough, receptionist was nice enough and informed us that the lift was just through the door. Now I am not one of those people who get freaked out by elevators but with three people and two bags in it I thought the thing was going to collapse on itself. Feeling relieved to actually reach the room (401) we were just happy to have a place to rest. However the room was far too hot and so we tried to turn on the air conditioning, we're still trying to figure out how to turn it on. Further, the TV simply did not turn on either. The decor was dated however (I hope) in an ironic sort of way and thus was fine. The main issue arose from the fact said decor was faded and peeling. Also, the apparent free wifi did not work at all in the room and having a teenager in our party the wifi was an attractive feature. The shower was small and had some of the worst water pressure I've ever seen, and I live in the north of Scotland. Breakfast was fine however there was a lack of hot food(bacon and eggs etc.) however I do understand the hotel offers continental breakfasts, despite this there was still a severe lack of varieties of cereal. There was also not a bar in the hotel which was disappointing. Overall, I do understand Rome is an old city and the hotel is an old building however there's a stage when basic standards come in to play and there is no way this hotel would pass for 4 Stars by British standards.
