My husband just checked out today and spend half of our visit with no power or heat (and it was very cold outside). We were on the 3rd floor (the only floor affected by a more than 12 hour power outage), and we were never offered a new room or compensation for any part of our trip. The desk clerk offered me a temporary place to shower, but that's it. We got ready in the pitch dark for our day and stumbled around the room before finally throwing on a sweatshirt and leaving for the day. Additionally, our third night, we had no heat (the heat was overloading the power system), so they gave us small space heaters. Again, no offer of any kind of voucher or refund for our trouble. Aside from the power issues, the Hotel is fine. Nothing special at all. Luckily, we were gone most of the time anyway sightseeing. My husband and I are very easy to please, so I hate leaving bad reviews. It was just a lot of inconvenience for an over $1000 bill. We loved our visit to San Fran, but the Galleria Park Hotel was definitely not on our highlight list. Collapse

I really enjoyed our stay at Galleria Park Hotel! Such a quaint boutique hotel! I found it through Hotels Tonight app, and was able to find a good last minute booking deal for a Saturday night. I was really happy to be able to bring our large golden retriever too. No extra fee and no weight limit = big plus. Check-in was easy. The front desk was nice, and he put us on the third floor so the outdoor terrace would be convenient for our dog. There was also a cocktail wine hour at the lobby, so we were able to grab a glass to our room. The room was on the small side, but that is expected for most hotel rooms in the city. No view for us, we were situated in the center of the hotel. Maybe that's why we got a deal? But overall I was happy to see clean white bed sheets and clean bathroom. Shower head was on the weak side though. The park terrace was a savior! Our dog loved it! He got to run around, and do his business at peace. Because he isn't a city dog, potty time can be tricky and difficult... But with the terrace, we felt safe and at ease without needing to wander around the streets at night. We loved the convenience. Thank you, Joie de Vivre! Next to Galleria there is a fantastic restaurant called Gasper Brasserie. We made sure to come back after dinner to grab a drink. The ambiance was romantic and quaint, and they had a jazz band playing next to the bar. Love it! We were lucky to find street parking right across from the hotel on Sutter St. Except my boyfriend had a nightmare that his car was going to get towed, even after reading the parking signs five times. We're just not used to street parking overnight. Sunday morning came and the car was fine and free parking for the day. Would love to stay here again on our next staycation! Collapse

We stayed in a Park Suite during our recent visit to San Francisco. We were travelling with our 2 sons (4 and 6 yo). I called around a number of hotels in the city looking for either adjoining rooms or a suite. None of the brand name hotels I spoke with had suites or would guarantee adjoining rooms. Thankfully we found the Galleria Park. It was absolutely perfect for us - the suite includes a large bed room room with separate living room with fold out bed for the children. Great location. Strongly recommend for families visiting San Francisco. Collapse

After a nine hour delay and a seven hour flight, I arrived at the hotel at 2am. I called ahead to advise I would be arriving late. There was nobody at the front desk to check me in and when I found the security person they called him and he said he would be there in a while. There was no back up to this one person and he took his time to come check me in. I then got to my room and it wasn't the category I reserved and paid for. I called to change rooms, was put on hold and then finally told that even though I had a confirmed room they were oversold and this was the only room I could have. This terrible service is totally unacceptable in any hotel, and particularly in one hotel that is supposed to be four stars. After a long argument I was offered a $50 discount on the night. This is the last time I will stay at this hotel. Collapse

This hotel is steps away from Union Square, shops and restaurants. The first impression in the lobby is one of elegance. Friendly staff and nicely decorated rooms. I took an inside room for a quieter stay, and it had one window facing a narrow interior section of the hotel. Nothing to look at, but definitely quieter than a city street. The bathroom was very modern and up-to-date with nice toiletries. The room was also nicely decorated and just right for two people. There is a wine bar right next door and a half-block to the left is a terrific place to grab coffee and breakfast. The location really can't be beat! Collapse
