Very clean room and the grounds were well looked after. Food was plenty good enough for us and there was a very large good choice. Loved the planting all around the hotel especially the cacti. In my eyes this was the best looking building in the area. Wouldn't hesitate coming back again. Staff are marvellous and a credit to the hotel . Only a couple off small annoyances, the bar closes at 11pm, charges for the room safe (never paid for that before anywhere in the world) and no tea or kettle in the room although there is a coffee machine for which you pay 1euro for a coffee pod. Hotel manager please note, 50% of your guests are UK based, Kettle and tea is an absolute priority. There are a multitude of pubs, restaurants, bars all around the area and I don't recall seeing any that what would be called a dump, in fact everyone will find something to there taste. Collapse
Good hotel but a few tweaks would make it a great hotel

4 people 2 rooms, both rooms were very clean, the cleaners work tirelessly and are very pleasant, we left the cleaners a tip as both rooms were constantly spotless towels were changed every day new bed sheets, floors swept, bathrooms kept spotless what more could you want, the hotel is in a great location as it's only a 5-10 min walk from the beach and 5 min walk from the strip, the hotel is massive! The pools are very nice, the receptionist staff and the staff in the restaurant are very nice and helpful. All the good points aside. In my opinion there is a few things that could be improved to make this hotel better. The restaurant- the food was not so good, for a 4 star hotel the food needs to improve the quality and variety, I'm not a fussy eater but even I was struggling with the food I'm just pleased we were only half board and not all inclusive or it would have been a total waste of money on the food side of things. The beds- they were very squeaky and noisy the slightest turn and you could literally wake the dead, they need updating! If you want to avoid the Veronica strip and the harassment from the p.r's you can use a back entrance door which takes you directly to the playa beach, we found this very useful as the p.r's can be very irritating, but the times for access to this door need to be altered 9:00-8:30? personally I think midnight should be the cut off. This is a good hotel but these minor changes would make this a great hotel and that is the reasoning behind my 3 star rating for hotel. Collapse

We stayed in The Gala in September last year, and were so happy with our stay that we booked again & returned earlier this month. If anything the hotel was even better this time! The restaurant & entertainment area had both had a refurbishment, to include new flooring and furniture, and I must say they have done a good job. We were half board and every meal was superb, with a wide selection to suit every taste. The main course plates were always warm and the restaurant staff were very friendly and obliging. Tables were cleared & relayed promptly. Our room was spotless & cleaned daily. The whole hotel was very clean. The Gala is also ideally located for the shops, with 24 hour supermarkets within a 2 minute walk, & was only a 4 minute walk from the sea. There are 2 pools, a shallow one for the kids & a deeper adult pool, as well as plenty of sun loungers & there were always plenty available. & even though The Strip is fairly close, you cannot hear any noise from there, even when stood out of the balcony. Had the best week in hotel gala. I really don't understand the picky and rude comments. POOL- the pool was lovely. not heated, but not freezing cold. Sun loungers was always available, but bring your own towels because you have to pay extra for towels around the pool. FOOD AND BARS- we had half board meaning we got breakfast and dinner for free not including drinks. There is something for everyone, wasn't the best breakfast I've ever had but I never expected something amazing, I usually just had a baguette or toast so never bothered me. Bar staff were very slow, so only used the inside bar once and we went out every night so didn't need to use it. Pool bar had a maximum 10 minute wait and used that bar every day for drinks and light snacks when around the pool (ham and cheese toasties and cheeseburgers were amazing) there was only one member of staff that was rude and his name was Manuel but all the other staff were lovely especially David! I think there is quite a language barrier which can make the staff come across as rude when really they can't understand you. ROOMS- rooms were lovely and spacious, very clean and usb sockets are very handy! Bathroom is very nice. Chair underneath sink, so nice place to sit and get ready. Fridge in wardrobe as well as a safe that you have to pay extra for. No wifi but there is wifi in the games room but it's very slow. Housekeeping are great, they are so professional and friendly. will always go out of their way to say hello. Overall I had an amazing holiday and I didn't want to leave! Thank you to hotel gala for making my holiday as fabulous as it was! Collapse

Was very pleased from the very moment of stepping into the reception lobby. Hotel was very clean and modern with friendly staff. Food was great with a wide selection. We had a room with a sea view that also looked over the pool area. The room was really nice and modern. The location of the hotel was perfect for me and my girlfriend as it was a short walk to the bars and the beach. The pool area was lovely and a little gym to use on site was ideal for me. Collapse
