Stayed for a week late October based entirely on the reviews, bit of a gamble as some reviews for hotels can be way off the mark, but on this occasion happy to say the positive reviews are all spot on. Given a choice of rooms on arrival (brilliant), top floor with large balcony (great) or 2nd floor room that had more internal space and smaller balcony (great also), nothing to choose between them but opted for 2nd floor room 210. Definitely 10 out of 10 for the personal touch as stated in other reviews, staff a credit to the hotel, always welcomed with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. If booking add breakfast you wont get better, all in all for a budget hotel it might be classed as a 2 star, but comes with 5 star service, as opposed to 5 star with 2 star service. Collapse

My husband and I stayed here from 1st - 8th October. We arrived at 1:45am due to a late flight. We were allocated room 203 in the Garbarda section of the hotel. We went to put our cases in our room and down into the bar area as it is open 24/7 and also sells baguettes, sandwiches and pizza for the late night snack. It also has a small outdoor pool, courtesy shower room and luggage storage. The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. We were advised by Tanya on reception to go to Son Caliu to catch the bus into Palma which cost €2:50 each one way. It's cheaper than walking towards the promenade and catching the bus from there and it's only about a 10 minute walk to Son Caliu. When we arrived we got off at the bus station and went into the tourist info office for a map and directions to the cathedral. Buying your tickets from here are slightly cheaper, €6 instead of €7. You can walk through Palma and get a feel for the city before reaching the cathedral which is a 'must do' for all tourists. Marineland is about 20 - 25 minutes walk. We paid €24 admission but if you go online you can book tickets cheaper. The sealion and the dolphin shows are not to be missed. Palma Nova has an abundance of restaurants, cafes, bars and even a nightclub. The restaurant Castaways next door to the nightclub was good and sold Strong bow for €1:50 per can. We did go into Reflex nightclub one evening and enjoyed our night. I highly recommend Paradise Beach restaurant. Excellent food and friendly, attentive staff. The staff at the Hotel Garbarda are very friendly and welcoming. Tanya is brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She booked us an island excursion, we hired a kettle so we could have a cuppa in our room and gave us directions/sightseeing advice. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have booked again for next year. Collapse

When we first arrived the coach passed through what looked like a commercialised area which had a Aldi and a lidl not far apart from each other. I said to my partner quite sarcastically "this looks like a nightmare for someone or a dream for use" Yep! You guessed it. First and only people of was us. Driver dropped us on the corner, said hotel across road and off he went. NEVER JUDGE BOOK....etc etc Well we checked in and the room was basic and functional but really clean. View wasn't special but it had a balcony so can't complain. Room had air con that was right cold. Breakfast cooked to order and no complaints. Drinks not included in breakfast but we always got coffee as it was excellent. Staff throughout this hotel are exceptional without omission. Every single person was pleasant and helpful. They have a unusual outside pool, more of a plunge pool but functional through we never used it as the weather wasn't the best. Awesome little touch this place as it if you have a late flight, you can leave your bags in the luggage room and if you want a shower and change of clothes they provide the best shower room I have been in in ages. They even provide towels so you don't need unpack your own. The hotel is only an 8 minute walk to the beach maximum. This is a cracking place to base yourself away from the madness that is Palma nova or magaluf but within easy walking distance of everything. Bus routes are easy to access and a bus from around the corner is about €2.50 to Palma city. Well worth a visit Thank you so much for everything. If I get the chance to return, in the words of Arnie "I'll be back" AWESOME people. Collapse

Excellent hotel with excellent customer service and welcome. It's a two star but really deserves a 4*. Adele and Tanya at reception provide almost homely welcome and anything you need to know just ask. If they don't know thenits not worth knowing. Christine and bar staff are amazing! Food is basic and cheap but tasty and all you need to fill the gap during the day. Can be loud with stag and hen but to be expected. Didn't loose sleep and they are away at magaulf Stip for majority of stay so they are not a problem. Excellent location and a five minute walk to Palma nova strip and two minutes from shops and supermarkets. Can walk to mags in fifteen to twenty mins. Hotel is clean and spotless. Been many times over last few years and will definitely return. Excellent prices and above average customer service. Collapse
