I'm never staying at this hotel again. It was all a pretty pleasant experience - I arrived late and was really just here for a layover before catching a flight the following morning. And so I had picked this out of my current loyalty program (Platinum) at Marriott. The check-in staff were helpful and the rooms were serviceable and your typical Marriott quality. The lounge had drinks in the late evening - I arrived late and left early, so can't comment much more than that. The shocker really came when the bill was presented. I had given my credit card to be placed on their system for storage at check-in, as in common practice everywhere, and when asked if I wanted to charge my room to the same card, I said yes. Whereupon I was then presented with a credit card slip that had already converted the bill in Euros into my home currency. I took issue with this, and the check-out staff essentially told me that their system has this on default and there was no way he could give me the option to pay it in Euros instead. This would certainly be a first for me - in all the hotels and restaurants that I've stayed at around the world, that option is always available and not "set to a default". And before I signed the credit card slip, which basically said I was presented an option, I highlighted this to him again and was told it would then have to be escalated to their accounting department which would take a few days - and by then, the currency wouldn't be too different. Again, I didn't know Marriott was hiring foreign exchange experts part-time. It isn't about the couple of Euros that would have been the difference - it is because my company also has a policy whereby I will have to get all sorts of exception approval to be able to claim expenses against something that was converted into my home currency out of my corporate card. I explained this to him, but was told that there was nothing that could be done since it was the weekend and the accounts department was closed. I do not know if any of this is anywhere close to the truth (I suspect many liberties were taken in the explanation) - but that is fine because I'm never staying here again. I will also be writing a complaint to Marriott and asking them to provide me with a letter as to why I was not given a choice at check-out on which currency I wanted to pay. Let's see what happens there. Bottom-line: Don't stay here unless Euro is your home currency as well. Collapse

I went to check out here and was told that I could pay in dollars or euro. I paid in euro, because I know that Dynamic currency conversion is a big scam that tricks lesser travelled people into paying in their home currency at a higher rate than they would otherwise pay. It’s sad that the Marriott Frankfurt participates in this scam. As a Gold, got a higher room. Good executive lounge and comfortable and clean room. Gym was fine with plenty of weights and cardio equipment. Brasserie Ici was quite busy during breakfast. Collapse

Let's face it. Great hotels are proclaimed great because of the quality of the staff. The road to success is service, service, and more service. This Frankfurt Marriott knows what that means and delivers at all levels. Need something special, anything at all, and it will be provided by 2-3 staff members who coordinate with each other to get the job done for you ASAP. I have to admit to failing to remember all the names of those who helped my wife and I to have a wonderful time of 5 days in Frankfurt, but let me say that the 2 men who provide Concierege services are outstanding. In addition, I must give a very special nod of thanks to Kalliopi and Christoph. Many thanks to all of you! Stay your course! Collapse

First time at this Marriott in Frankfurt and mostly a positive experience. Super friendly check-in staff which was most appreciated howver they did not have my rewards number on file and didn't ask for it (why?) until I asked why I couldn't get free breakfast because I was Platinum - suddenly the service changed and my room was upgraded (but I booked on the Marriott website so why wasn't my number there?). That aside, it's a glitzy, buzzing lobby area with a beautiful bar to the right and welcoming check in area. I was given a room on the 41st floor with stunning views out across Frankfurt and the enormous Messe complex - a good sized room and bathroom, immaculately clean and seemed fresh and new. Comfortable good sized bed, great desk area with television and everything else you would expect in a Marriott (safe/toiletries/hairdryer/iron/wardrobe with storage and so on). Wonderful walk-in shower with plenty of towels too. The Executive Lounge is on the 43rd floor and the only floor you need to use your badge upon. Good sized lounge, nicely laid out with little alcoves/rooms to hide away in. Good selection of beer/wine for a lounge too and food in the morning and evening. The breakfast here was a little disappointing and I wish I had gone down to the main breakfast area on the ground floor - the sausages were lukewarm, the bacon stood for too long and the omelettes overly wet after sitting in what looked like water. Staff awesome though just improve the breakfast. Can get busy in here too but hey. It's in a great location too for Frankfurt, nothing is that far away, and perfect for the Messe/Festhalle across the road and about a 15 minute walk from the central station. Only other final negative is the lifts... at peak times they wait is just too long. There are 43 floors and just 4 lifts/elevators for guests. Congested at busy times given the 500+ rooms in the hotel. Would be so frustrating for a long stay. Fix the lifts, and exec lounge breakfast and it'll be five stars! Collapse
