We had a meal booked for us with a Buy A Gift voucher at the restaurant. Wow what a beautiful place. From the moment you step into the hotel you are really taken care of. We sat in the drawing room where the menus were bought to us and were able to browse them at our leisure. Drinks were bought to us and once we had ordered our food you were collected by the waiters/ waitresses to be seated at your table. The level of service was outstanding and very upper class but very relaxed. The dress code for the restaurant is smart/ casual. This was also the case of the staff too which was very appealing. The food was beautiful, as it was fine dining it did not look a lot, but the quality of the food definately filled you up. Forgot to say in the drawing room there was a open fire which really made the room feel even more welcoming. We had a super evening and there was no rush for you to leave. Collapse

My mum bought me a gift voucher for afternoon tea here as part of my 30th birthday present. We had an absolutely lovely time, the staff were so unbelievably friendly (which you don't get very often nowadays) and we had a lovely view of the sea and beautiful surroundings of the hotel. We sat out on the porch enjoying the day, it is a gorgeous hotel, everything was perfect and I felt so relaxed, the sandwiches were the best I have ever had (salmon in particular) the cakes were so delicious, but by far, the best part of afternoon tea, were the SCONES, I have never had scone that was so fresh and still warm, it was like it was just made, the jam and clotted cream were an added bonus to this scrummy meal, I would go back in a heart beat. Although we didn't stay in the hotel, the grounds and building have so much character and charm, I can't imagine how amazing the rooms must be if the rest of the building is so stunning, and the staff are just amazing! My son arranged a surprise 70th birthday meal for my wife at the Fowey Hall, somewhere we had never been although living in Cornwall all our lives. The hotel is situated in stunning surroundings overlooking the Fowey river estuary and Polruan. The five of us all had something different to eat and without exception, all of us thought the food and service was fabulous. God knows why we have never been before but one thing is certain, we will be going again. It was the best way to end a wonderful day for my wife. Simply scrumptious. Collapse

We have been to Fowey many times but this was our first visit to Fowey Hall. It is a lovely big old fashioned country house with stunning views over the Fowey estuary and the village of Polruan. We had a big room with a great view, large comfortable bed and was spotless. The bathroom had a bath and shower, large fluffy towels and nice toiletries. After being shown to our room we were bought two glasses of champagne, it was our anniversary, a nice touch. The hotel caters for families, we were there outside of school holidays but imagine it could get busy with children during holiday times. There is a separate restaurant for families. We ate in the hotel restaurant, service was good, the menu had a good variety of choices and the food was was well presented and delicious but was quite expensive. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good. There is a pool and spa which we didn't use on this visit. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had no problem with parking always finding a space. The hotel is at the top of the town and it is a steep walk down to the harbour and shops coming back will certainly test your fitness levels! However there is a free town bus that goes from the church in the town centre to the local car park near to the hotel. Would recommend a visit on the passenger ferry across the estuary to Polruan, stunning views if you can make the walk to the top and a lovely pub by the quay. Also Hall walk, tough but worth it for the views. Would certainly stay here again. Collapse
