What not to like? we stayed there yesterday on a travelzoo cheapie and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We are both "foodies" and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The room was clean, well furnished and with a nice sea and town view. Its a long time since we stayed anywhere with staff so keen to help and so chatty. Only negative was a duvet which would be more suited to a hotel in antarctica so it was a night of throw it off / pull it back on and repeat. We will return Collapse

What a beautiful hotel; room was incredible (stayed in room called Louisa) huge super king so comfy with feather down pillows and mattress topper (I am getting one of those) huge room and lovely bathroom and a great view of fowey! Such friendly staff, tour of hotel on arrival and absolutely amazing food some of the best we have ever had in a hotel Michelin star from us! DVDs to borrow, wellies, buckets & spades and lovely seating inside with open fires. Great spa and pool oh and the sunset from the hot tub was beautiful! We had our 2 year old daughter with us and was made to feel so welcome...finally a hotel which has it right when it comes to families; separate dining areas with young children so we didn't feel awkward about upsetting anyone who had come for a quiet weekend. Also there are baby monitors in the rooms if u wish to have dinner as a couple. Only thing was that drinks were fairly expensive but usual hotel prices really and lovely wine. Overall was so nice to stay in a luxury hotel which is also child friendly! Collapse

Very welcoming staff Very attentive Nothing too much trouble Family and pet friendly hotel but both kept separated from those without Food very good but rather small choice Lounges nice and warming with log fires Large drinks choice Fire alarm late evening (11 ish) small fire in the Spa - well handled by staff and got us back inside then back to our rooms as soon as fire brigade allowed Offered free lunch next day as compensation, we were not staying so took a bottle of Prosecco off our bill Collapse

Fowey Hall is a Majestic Hotel a Classical British Gem. Beautifully decorated interior, high ceilings, period features. There are a few lounge areas to choose from with real fires and comfy seats. The dining rooms are equally lovely over looking the estuary/sea. What makes this hotel five stars in my eyes are the staff, professional, polite and knowledgeable they do actually treat you as a very valued guest, two fine examples of the staff (though they are all wonderful) are Libby on reception and Ben in the Restaurant. The food in the restaurant is fabulous as is the service. They have separate dining times for small ones who can choose from a special menu or if you have a fussy one like me, they will make cheese on toast 3 times a day! We have two children 3 & 5 and have been to Fowey Hall twice now and we are looking forward to returning May half term. The remarkable thing about Fowey is that when I leave I feel like I have had a break, relaxed and pampered which is hard to achieve with two little ones in tow. There is a lot to entertain children in a discrete way, the library has a selection of toys so parents can relax with coffee while the children play. Off this room but away from the lounges so as to not to disturb other adults there is a table tennis table, a smaller room holds 3 computers and table football, then from this room is a children's cinema/lounge all very relaxed and informal. Not to mention a wonderful creche/playgroup where you can have 2 hours child free a day if you wish. We had a suite which had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with an internal hall joining them which was perfect for our little family. The town of Fowey is just down the hill and has some wonderful shops, you can take the ferry over the river for exploring. Lanhydrock National trust is 25 mins away a fabulous house and of course the Eden project is down the road not to mention the rest of beautiful Cornwall with its coves and quaint villages. I cannot recommend Fowey highly enough. Collapse
