We stayed for a week over our April vacation with our two boys 11 and 13. HUGE mistake! Maybe the reviews I read about this hotel being family friendly were written during the low season, but this was definitely not the place where we would ever choose to spend quality family time. We arrived on a Saturday and quickly discovered that to get to the pool area you are forced to walk right by the adult pool where you can see and hear everything going on--it was really ridiculous. The music was blasting everywhere we went and you could barely hold a conversation while trying to eat lunch at the outdoor restaurant. If we hadn't prepaid for our JetBlue vacation we would have probably checked out that day and headed somewhere else. Things were a little better for the beginning of the week although we had to get up early every day to get decent chairs by the pool. If you didn't, you had to find chairs that were stacked on top of one another in the lawn section where there was no way to keep an eye on the kids unless you were in the pool with them. The staff by the pool were all very nice and definitely tried to please as many people as they could, the waitresses were very attentive. I agree with another reviewers comment regarding the difference in uniforms between the male pool staff and the females. The little skirted bathing suits the girls had to wear left nothing to the imagination and when you're lower than them in the pool, you certainly get more than an eyeful. By Thursday things started picking up again with a crew of 700 employees of Insight Global arriving and we were suddenly thrust into a giant frat/sorority party. The group took over the pool and everywhere else we went and were pretty obnoxious. No regard for the other people that were there with kids--dropping f-bombs, stumbling around drunk, and just plain rude. I can honestly say that based on the behavior of the employees of that company I would never ever use them (a woman literally tried to pull the floaty we had rented from my son while he was on it and wouldn't let go until I intervened--who does that???). It would have been one thing if it was just my husband and myself, but having my kids there made the experience really frustrating. The hotel itself was okay--you're nickel and dimed for everything, no coffee maker in the room, all the food was very expensive but that actually was secondary to the quality of clientele and the kind of behavior that the hotel allows and somewhat promotes. It was a bummer to have used one of our family vacation times at this hotel--definitely a one and done for us. Collapse

Fontainebleau is INCREDIBLE. Stunning hotel, perfect beach, and wonderful, genuinely friendly staff. We rented a cabana today and had Rosalia as our host. She went beyond the bar and made our day absolutely amazing. When we asked for a pic, she took at least 20 from 10 different angles (so we looked just right ;) ) So awesome, this lovely lady deserves at least 10 stars!!! And 10 stars for the hotel too! Amazing hotel, 100% recommend ❤❤❤ Collapse
Overrated, over priced, not what you expect

Booked through booking.com which was a lot cheaper than booking direct with the hotel. Room was exactly as expected, spacious, two comfy beds and a bathroom. No tea, coffee making facilities and a horrendously overpriced mini bar $10 for a bottle of water, no wonder it was covered in dust! We walked into this hotel just after midday on a Saturday afternoon, to what can only be described as a full on rave! The adults pool is directly in front of you as you enter the hotel and it was full on with loud music and drunk adults cavorting. The hotel is huge with various different parts, surely an adults pool could be located somewhere else so that everyone doesn't have to walk past it? We ate in the pizza burger restaurant, we did expect to pay more, but for this I expect top class food. We ordered 7 meals, 3 of which were sent back, and I left most of mine as I just couldn't finish the fries with the amount of salt that was on it, we did have drinks at the table so for our part of the bill which was for a burger, a pizza and fish and chips this came to $222.00, that isn't just expensive it's outrageous undoubtedly the most expensive price for a cheap easily produced meal I've ever paid. I would not recommend this at all, the hotel is beautiful in a great setting, but you have to get a taxi everywhere as its too far away from anything, just to go to the nearest breakfast place (advised by the concierge) this was a $30 taxi return, the same to get to shops and double to get to downtown Miami. It's certainly not a relaxing break, I don't mind paying extra for quality but I do mind being ripped off. Collapse

Being my first time to Miami, I settled on Fountainblue after reviewing a ton of TripAdvisor reviews and comparing cost and pros/cons of many hotels. I was not disappointed with my choice knowing what to expect going into it. We spent 3 nights over Easter break. I booked through Orbitz. I called the hotel to mention it was an anniversary trip and was graciously updated to a huge oceanfront room (no balcony or suite) but I was very happy. The hotel is huge and over Easter it was very busy. However our check in was friendly and quick. The pool is the hub of the hotel. Massive and gorgeous with loungers and cabanas. Yes you had to get up at 7 to get a lounger or pay for a cabana but I've learned that is often the case at many beach resorts so we just rolled with it got up early and got prime seats. Don't let it ruin your trip. The pool area is beautiful early morning. Grab a coffee at the pastry shop and enjoy some quiet time at the pool. Every single staff person was so professional, friendly and genuinely interested in serving you. Yes there is an 18% charge on top of everything but that was nice no need to add on tip. Easy peasy. Pool bar staff were the best! Beach was also very busy with loungers stacked side by side. We got up early and got 2 right up front. You only pay if you want an umbrella. Beach service also great. This resort has amazing people watching. Did massage and hammas bath at spa. Spa is beautiful and staff attentive. Car service staff were also great even talking in Spanish to our Uber driver to help him find where to pull in. I can see how this place being so huge, pricey, busy and such a "scene" might not be for everyone but for us it was awesome and we felt pampered and appreciated...Thanks Fountainblue wish we could have stayed longer! DO NOT STAY HERE!! This hotel is awful. It is like Spring Break here. Customer service is terrible. We booked a king ocean view and were only given a partial ocean view where you have to strain your neck to see the sea. Our room is across from the elevator and we have barely slept all night because of the 'ding' of the elevator each time it opens and also because of the noisy 20 somethings coming out of the elevator drunk. Note that I am writing this at 4:38am because it is too loud to sleep. We tried to get moved to a quieter room but were told the hotel is full. I wish we had booked elsewhere. Big mistake booking here. RUN LIKE HELL IF YOU ARE OFFERED ROOM 1581. Collapse
