If only we could experience true Irish elegance and charm along with genuine hospitality and care that transports us to a world of green fields far away right in the middle of Manhattan. Luck of the Irish? In John Fitzpatrick’s case, innovation and inspiration were the main components with a little help from his pot of gold. John has an impressive collection of framed photographs with artists, politicians, celebrities and royalty in the front lobby area and has truly created a tiny haven for his guests combining authentic grace that exudes the warmth of a cozy ambience. While visiting the Fitzpatrick Manhattan hotel, our wish was granted and we escaped into the splendor of our Irish roots in the most fabulous city in the world. Like the replication of an antique jewelry box, the wine colored interior lobby with its beautiful wooden paneled walls and ceiling beams complimented the crystal chandelier and the leather bound books behind reception. With brushed gold elevators and a cozy restaurant bar where a decent pint of Guinness is waiting to be poured or an authentic cup of Irish tea waiting to be sipped, the Fitzpatrick Manhattan hotel exudes the authenticity and charm of an Irish country townhouse in a forgotten chapter out of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. The rooms are extremely clean with tasteful décor and comfortable beds hosting fresh bed linen and well positioned bathrooms with beige cream marble and mosaic featuring a glass patrician in the shower which is spotless. Having personal recommendations and help during our stay in deciding where to go and what to do was wonderful. Thanks to Ciara Murphy, our dream came true when we were directed to our morning destination - a local spot for the best plate of pancakes with real maple syrup, also popular with the locals. Ciara made our check in process unforgettable with her ability to ensure we were happy in every way. Chris O'Sullivan spent time with me over the telephone answering the many questions I had about staying at the Fitzpatrick before I even booked it a month prior, not to mention helping me with my directions into the city, especially on our last day when we wanted to see as much as we could. Chris has amazing knowledge of New York City. He is an extremely patient person with a lot of knowledge and is a joy to speak with. We were greeted by Victor Aybar from valet as we pulled up after a 12 hour drive upon our arrival. Victor is a true gentleman and was incredibly helpful, informative and kind to us all throughout our stay and also helped us with our directions upon departing. The bar staff are very personable. Sam was lovely in the hotel bar as we asked him all about the Guinness and went out of his way for us. We also enjoyed a quick chat with Conner who’s very new from Co. Mayo in Ireland. During the night, we arranged our wake up calls with Ishita who was incredibly cheerful and pleasant. In the mornings, we were greeted by Merima’s lovely smile along with Peter Wild’s amazing aura, smile and assistance! Peter was always ready to help us with our daily directions, plans and decisions on where the best places for hidden croissants were along with advising us on the weather. He is a true gem and we looked forward to seeing him in the mornings. After a fabulous stay, Ciara checked us out and Chris and Victor helped us with our directions out of Manhattan. I had to call Chris quite a few times as we drove out of the city and kept getting cut off due to bad reception. He was incredibly patient and genuinely cared about helping us to get where we needed to go even though he was incredibly busy. Shane Cookman who is the Area General Manager and who we hope to meet next time, has done an outstanding job in setting a standard in customer service that is above par with his staff as they are all incredible. The Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel is a jewel that sparkles at the corners of Madison Avenue and 57th Street and will most definitely beckon us to return again someday, to be sure to be sure.....as the Irish would say. I would highly recommend The Fitzpatrick on Lexington Avenue. The location is brilliant, ideal for shopping on 5th Avenue. The staff are most helpful and the beds are very comfortable. I will definitely be returning.

I Love The Fitz! I'm there more than I'm in my own home in Los Angeles. Chris O'Sullivan is a treasure and a friend. The staff is fantastic and the location is perfect! I have stayed here for years and am always happy to be here!

My husband and I visited NY for the first time as part of our 25th wedding anniversary. The welcome we received upon check in was fantastic and on finding out about our celebrations, we were instantly upgraded to a suite. We were told quite honestly that there wasn't a great view but it was at the back of the hotel which was much quieter. We wasn't disappointed. The suite was beautiful. A bottle of fizz and chocolate strawberries were also sent to our room. What a wonderful, personal touch. The staff are a credit to the hotel. Advice about transport, directions and attractions were invaluable. The bar was a welcome addition to the end of some busy days. We ate at the restaurant once and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. A great hotel, fab location and wonderful staff. We're definitely coming back. Thank you for making our celebrations one to remember. Collapse
