We are just back from an 8 night stay in the self catering accommodation in Vienna Woods. We were travelling with a toddler and grandparents. The rooms were immaculate and all en suite so there was plenty of space (4 bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs and a kitchen, dining, lounge area). A high chair and cot was provided for the baby which saved us packing our own. There is a picnic table outside the villa to sit out in the evenings or for breakfast in the morning. We were able to cook all our meals in the villa (there is a LIDL, DUNNES, ALDI and SUPERVALUE all 6-10 minutes drive) but on the few occasions we were too tired we just strolled down to the hotel (1 minute walk) and ate in the restaurant or the bar. The food was amazing and the staff were so attentive and understanding of our needs with our toddler. When we had dinner one evening in the restaurant the waiter brought out a balloon for our toddler and was chatting to her. On a different evening another staff member brought over some toys for her to play with while we had a drink in the conservatory. Everyone was so attentive. They also had a special deal of free cookies and milk for children in the evenings and I was jealous of the homemade chocolate chip biscuits my daughter was given. The villas are only 2.5 hours drive from Dublin and then 20 - 40 minutes drive from daily activities, we went to Fota wildlife park, Trabolgan, youghal, Kinsale, Cork City and Blackrock Castle. There is certainly lots to do and we only scratched the surface, there is an indoor play gym for kids in the town too for rainy days. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back again. Stayed here for one night which was a busy weekend in Cork due to a number of events happening in the city, all Ireland quarter finals and fleadh ceoil. It was reasonably priced for the weekend that was in it and not too far from the city entre When we arrived we decided to stay in the hotel for dinner, We could fault the fabulous dinner which was great value for the meal we got and the atmosphere in the bistro is lovely The breakfast the following morning was the best hotel breakfast I ever had and the breakfast staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is a gluten free counter for breakfast and also a kids section which is a lovely touch. Some of the rooms are currently in line for a refurbishment, there was a sign in our room which stated it was due to be done up. Nice to see the hotel acknowledge this as it was evident near the door a previous guest had done some damage to the room which was an awful shame someone did this to a nice hotel. Very happy with the hotel and will definitely return Collapse

Two days before our check-in date I received a phone call from a lovely receptionist at the hotel. She told us that there was a problem with our room and she would be upgrading us at no extra cost. Needless to say, we had no complaints about this! Upon arrival to the location of the hotel, we were stunned. It was absolutely beautiful. After a short drive up a gorgeous wooded driveway, we arrived at the hotel itself and it was as nice as the drive up. We were greeted by a wonderful lady at reception who couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. The room that we were upgraded to was amazing and sparkling clean. The decor was beautiful and there was a very large wall-mounted television. The bathroom was stunning with blue lights added around the mirrors (yes, two mirrors, one large and one small, wall-mounted vanity mirror, A+) and the shower head had multiple spray settings. The bed was a treat, it was insanely comfortable with wonderful pillows and a down duvet and honestly it was almost hard to leave in the morning! The hotel offered a great room-service menu that we did avail of and the food was very good. This stay was one of the best experiences I've had in a hotel and I cannot recommend it enough! Collapse

Our first impression was wonderful; the greeting was very friendly and helpful. However, the room was not as nice as we had expected, the television had no reception and we were told “some rooms just don’t have good reception, sorry”. And the shower left a lot to be desired, the knobs didn’t work very well so most showers were scalding hot. The thing that bothered us the most was that we were told that dinner was served from 8-10 and was shown where to go. However, what they failed to tell us was that reservations were required. I guess we thought our hotel reservation was sufficient to get a dinner reservation but that was not the case. Ali, who we assume was the Maître d, asked us if we had a reservation and when we told him we didn’t, he told us we could not be seated and that we would ‘have to go eat in the bar’. He was condescending and pretty rude so we never returned to the restaurant as we felt very unwelcomed by Ali. But having said that let us tell you about the bar staff and especially Monica Butler! Everyone in the bar was so friendly and welcoming; they looked up information for us and answered all of our many many questions. But there was one person that stood out above everyone else, Monica! She was delightful and made us feel very welcome in the bar and we returned nightly to visit with her. She is the kind of person who makes you feel very comfortable and like you’ve known her forever. She was wonderful to us on our anniversary too, working it so that we got a complimentary bottle of champagne. She is just one of those people you will never forget and will remember fondly for the rest of our lives. So don’t go to the Vienna for the restaurant, instead go to the bar where the company is fabulous and the menu is better! Collapse

Im a Cork native so I never have used the accommodation side but I have been here for a wedding and afternoon tea. Both were a fantastic experience. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is exceptional. Will definitely keep coming back.
