Arrived to find there was a wedding on, and it seemed like I was the only none wedding guest. As a result I could use neither the bar nor the restaurant, and was, effectively confined to my room. Given that Farnham itself is a drive away, I accepted this and ordered room service. Worryingly quickly a chicken burger arrived looking like pub food from the 80s and, indeed, it may have been in the oven since then. Tough as old boots, it's dryness was heightened by the lack of any kind of sauce apart from coleslaw which came out of a tub. Clearly, in this place, food is something of a utilitarian need. Given that there was a wedding on, the hotel should have warned me up front to the lack of facilities and the inconvenience. If you can't even offer your guests a place to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening, I don't think you should describe yourself as a hotel, or at the very least offer a discount. To top it all, the revelry from the wedding resounded throughout the corridors of this noisy hotel until the small hours. Not great when you need to be up early. Breakfast was passable in parts, although it was a buffet affair with scrambled egg you can slice. It is also the only place I have been to in a long time which brews tea in great batches - even the most modest places offer you a tea bag these days. The whole place felt like a throwback to times when hotels were arrogant enough to think the honour was the guest's and not the other way round. These kind of places are few and far between for good reason. I'm sure there are far better places for similar money in the area. Collapse

Very expensive for below average accommodation. Collapse

I have just stayed in this hotel for a few nights on a business trip. When I pulled up at the hotel I was extremely impressed. The hotel from the outside is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately that's about it. My room was rather dated which I could live with as it was reasonably clean (I say reasonably because the dried flowers on my windowsill had been gathering dust for years), but it was at least sizeable and had a decent living space. The bathroom was rather old and in need of updating. The bath panel on the side closest to the toilet was rotting away and as a result was brown and peeling off. The water facilities were extremely noisy. Whenever I washed my hands or flushed the toilet I could hear the system still going for about 10 minutes. Worse still though, was the sound coming through the walls whenever anyone else used their bathroom facilities. It woke me up twice which was really frustrating especially as I was struggling to sleep anyway. The room was extremely hot with no air conditioning. Unfortunately in order to open the window you had to lean right across a very deep window ledge which could have caused a problem for someone less able than myself. I also found the bed extremely hard and uncomfortable, I know I sound like Goldilocks but it was probably the hardest bed I've stayed in and I work out of hotels a lot. The service from the staff was very pleasant and I couldn't fault that but because of the sheer fact that I couldn't concentrate on any of my work I needed to do owing to the noises around the hotel, and the fact that I couldn't sleep for the same reason, I really did not have a great stay. So much so that I have cancelled my 3 day stay that I was meant to have here next week because let's face it, nobody pays to stay in a hotel and not be able to sleep. That's the primary function of a hotel! Collapse

Superior room in need of an update. Very poor toilet flush! Bathroom radiator not working, threadbare carpet. Pleasant staff & good breakfast. the location is lovely - major refurbishment ( planned ) cannot come soon enough.

Stayed here after attending a wedding, the rooms were very basic and very dated. There was a fridge in the room a long with a tv. The bathroom was an ok side however again the shower was very old and could do with being replaced. That being said the bed was comfy and it did the job for what we needed! The staff were friendly friendly and very helpful, we had breakfast in the morning which was a fry up with choices of tea, coffee, Orange and apple juice. The room was on the pricey side considering the condition and I think that would put me off stay in the future. Collapse
