I had the pleasure of a midweek break at Failthlegg House Hotel earlier this month. So close to the heart of Waterford city and yet right in the middle of beautiful countryside. Following directions by sat nav set us slightly astray but we followed the signs for Faithlegg and found it without too much difficulty. A lovely greeting at reception and no delay in checking in. I had mentioned it was a special occasion when making the booking and all the staff went out of their way to make it special every step of the way. The beautiful Samuel Roberts Room was spacious, comfortable and had all the mod cons required. Also available at reception was a scroll with the history of the House which made for interesting reading. A quick stroll around the beautiful grounds was soon followed by a warm drink in front of a beautiful open fire. The friendliness of the staff was noted to all regular locals and new visitors alike. A nice surprise was the availability of books to borrow at the main entrance and we passed some lovely time reading by the fire. Dinner was in a beautifully laid out room and very busy for a Tuesday night in October. The food and attention to every detail was divine. There was plenty to choose from on the menu and each course just got better and better. Not normally a dessert eater but even I could not resist. After a restful night in our beautiful room we arrived down to a luxurious breakfast in the beautiful dining room. One final coffee before we reluctantly checked out and spied a celebrity in our midst. Even though she was recognised no one bothered her and she seemed to be enjoying her downtime in Faithlegg. Faithlegg was not a location that originally jumped out at me as a must-see destination but we will definitely be returning! Collapse

This hotel is just outside Waterford City. You can get there by car or taxi. The setting is amazing. The moment you enter the gates you know you are in for a treat. You pass a row of private houses on the grounds - very high quality and expensive I imagine. You follow the road through the golf course to the beautiful hotel entrance. Loads of free parking. Reception was very fast, friendly and it's nice to be greeted by a smile. The room I had was in the newer extension to the original building and were very comfortable and clean. The main part of the hotel has an oldie world feel and was never crowded - a great place to relax and read. The spa area was lovely and I decided to treat myself to a massage. I was delighted to find that this hotel spa had a male masseuse named David. A rare find in an Irish spa - but what a fantastic experience from a skilled expert! The only negative I could find here was the changing rooms, not sure that there rooms were attached to the spa or the leisure centre but they need some attention. All in all, this proved a gem of a place. Great place to relax and unwind. Collapse

Decided to stay for one night to view as a possible wedding venue. The staff were amazing! Orla at the front desk was so nice and friendly and could not do enough for us. We met with Linda who showed us the whole property and could not have been nicer! We felt so welcome! We had dinner in the restaurant which was ok and our server Dominica was lovely. We look forward to returning! Collapse

Stayed in Faithlegg recently for my birthday and had an amazing time from start to finish. We arrived a little early but to our surprise the room was ready for check in early so we got to make the most of the day. Firstly we had afternoon which was served in a reserved area in the bar. Great selection of food and lots of top ups on the tea! We then headed down to the spa for a massage which was fantastic. The therapist was extremely good, and really seemed to care about and enjoy her job, which showed in the great full body massage she gave. Later that evening we went for a beautiful dinner in the hotels main restaurant. This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time, food was beautiful and the service was 5 star also. The next morning we had a beautiful breakfast before heading for a stroll around the grounds of the hotel. Overall a fantastic stay, will definitely be back again soon! Collapse
