My wife has talked about wanting to visit Faithlegg for a very long time. But because of our work commitments we were unable to up until now. I booked two nights as a surprise for her. Didn't tell here were we were going until we made the turn on the road for Faithlegg. Her face lite up. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly member of staff.Having checked in we went to our room. I wanted this to be a special stay for my wife. It was overlooking the car park. I should have paid more attention to detail when booking. Anyway the room wasn't going to spoil our stay.By the way the infectious smile of Clodagh on reception soon banishes all concerns. We showered /changed and went for a walk in the grounds, just beautiful. Stopped of at the club house for a drink. We sat on the balcony overlooking the golf course. I had booked dinner in the restaurant for that evening so we made our way back to the hotel. The food was fantastic. They cater for total gluten free on all menus which for me is a real bonus. Beata and Mayleen (hope the names are spelt right) were there to ensure our dining experience was superb, they didn't fail and smiled the whole time. We then retired to the bar/lounge and David served us with all our needs and a lot of interesting information on whiskeys. Hadn't heard of Yellow dot whiskey up until then. Bed time was a bit of a challenge for us. Having arrived back in the room we settled down for a welcome sleep. That wasn't to be.... first some person believing our room was his kept turning his key in our door until eventually I went to the door and shouted at him. Then we had to listen to the next room talking aloud most of the night and early the next morning drawers opening and closing. Maybe a little more soundproofing might solve this!! Next day we went for a drive to Dunmore east. Its a beautiful little village with fantastic views. On the way back we stopped of at Jack Meade's pub. Try it for the food or if you have kids....there is a great play are for them. Arriving back in the hotel my wife had booked a spa treatment. So I decided to sit and watch the experts play golf. Very relaxing. We had booked the restaurant for that evening but we were late booking so all we could get was a late one. We decided to dine in the bar/lounge. The food was the same and better still we didn't have to move from our comfortable seats. Marek and his team that night, Amy, Julie and Alex made sure we had everything we needed. One little thing I noticed is the WiFi isn't good in the third room to the right of the reception. I haven't mentioned breakfast. The staff on breakfast service have a very tough job because everyone arrives wanting to eat at the same time. They were fantastic and everyone was slotted in very quickly. Again an all Irish gluten free option is available. Time to check out and again the infectious smile of Clodagh on reception greets you. All hotels need someone like this on the front desk. The smile has a calming affect. Thanks to all at Faithlegg for a memorable stay. We will be back. John Collapse

We went for a relaxing couple of days to celebrate my birthday. The ambience is wonderful - magnificent grounds, a lovely country house atmosphere and very comfortable accommodation. The food is out of this world. Congratulations to the chef. We had breakfast and evening meal both days and the food was just perfect. A really high standard! The hotel would have had a perfect rating except for one small incident - when we went in for dinner on the second evening, we asked for a window table but were told that all the empty window tables had been requested by other guests. Fair enough but the person we asked was quite 'sharp' and she seemed to regard our asking as an impertinence [this happened on July 18th]. It's only a small thing but it means that the 100% rating of this excellent hotel fell to 99%. A pity but never mind - it's the good 99% that counts. Collapse

We're here in Faithlegg at the moment with our 3 children. This our 7th year to return, however this year there is no kids club for them. To say they are disappointed is an understatement. It is the main reason why we have returned year after year. The children have made many friends each year, some of whom they meet again and again and have kept in touch with. When we enquired at reception, we were informed that there was no demand for it, yet we always saw a good attendance there. This was a big plus for the hotel and it is sad to see that there is not a kids club facility in a 4 star hotel complex. Collapse

I stayed here for 2 nights. From our arrival to checking out the staff in this hotel were exceptional, every single one of them. They really made time for our young child, the staff are a credit to the hotel. The room was perfect and spotless. Breakfast and dinner were top class. The setting is really nice. The only issues I have are minor, our room was above where the weddings take place and there was a wedding on each night of our stay. The music was very loud and we were unable to get our child to sleep until the early hours of each morning. The other issue I had is that the Tv's in the bar are not suitable for watching a big game of sport on if a crowd gathers in the bar. Maybe another option within the hotel could improve this. Despite these issues I would definitely recommend this hotel and will return again. Collapse
