We recently stayed at this amazing hotel for 2 nights. We were lucky enough to have 2 rooms overlooking the golf course. I can honestly say this is the best room I have ever stayed in. It was massive with beautiful furnishings. The beds were very comfortable. On arrival there was complimentary water , flapjacks and macaroons. There was a coffee /tea making machine. A big plus were the hotel has fantastic leisure facilities - gym , pool , sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We ate in the restaurant the first night we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious, especially my pork main meal. The apple fondant dessert was refreshing but rather bland. Breakfasts were plentiful and the Irish fry ok but sometimes arrived far too quickly as we were still eating our cereal (staff should check if visitors are still eating ) The wedding was fantastic - with excellent food again. Faithlegg feels like an Irish hotel should feel. Lots of cosy bars , a real fire in the lobby, a beautiful golf course !! I loved it. Collapse

Wonderful place to stay if you're traveling through Waterford Ireland. A beautiful old mansion that has been converted into a hotel with a golf course right on the grounds. Friendly staff and great food.

We had driven past Faithlegg house last year and and thought it looked just lovely and so we decided to make it one of our stops on our anniversary trip this year, it was the only place we stayed that left us very disappointed :( We entered down a lovely drive surrounded by golf course greens, as we parked a large tour bus pulled up. Having been on tours myself, I was aware of how long it could take to get a group into their rooms, so I hurried in. Upon reaching the check in area, I saw a young lady , all on her own, trying to navigate a large number of keys and paperwork. No one from the bus had yet entered. I got her attention, saying I was there to check in and she replied that it would be a few minutes as she had a large group coming in. She said that everything was organized, so it shouldn't take long. She seemed like a very nice young lady, who shouldn't have been left in this situation, I felt bad for her so I waited patiently while a busload of people were given their keys and went off to their rooms. Now it was finally my turn. Did our paperwork and a very nice young man Tom, helped with our luggage and escorted us to our room. The room looked nice enough and I was delighted to see a Happy Anniversary note and a little box of chocolates awaiting us. I heard a loud dripping noise and went to check the shower which was dripping away. Both myself and then my husband tried to get the drip to stop to no avail, so I called the front desk, they said they would send someone up. He arrived and said, indeed the shower had been leaking all weekend and apparently needed a new part (this was Monday evening). He said we could either stay there with the leak or he could take us to another room. I opted for the new room. Unfortunately that room was a lot smaller than the 1st and was situated so that when you looked out the window, you were essentially looking up at a car park. I told the young man that I was sorry, but this room would not do and he was very gracious and understanding and took me back to the lobby to talk to the manager on duty Donatas. He said they were fully booked and he had no other room available.I told him it was unacceptable to have even put us in the room with a loudly leaking shower in the 1st place, that this was our anniversary trip and the smaller room overlooking the carpark was unacceptable. When I nearly burst into tears he finally said he would see what he could do. I guess he didn't like the idea of a distressed guest sitting in reception and after a few minutes he suggested I might wait in the bar where I got a Baileys on the house, which was much needed at this point. After an hour or so Donatas reappeared and took me to a room, not as large as the 1st and when I mentioned that he basically said take it or leave it and walked out. We settled in and the room was fine. We had dinner reservations (dinner was included in our package) which had been confirmed a week earlier. When we arrived for dinner Donatas appeared again to tell us that there was only a table for 2 available, when we had clearly booked for 4. He then said he had tried to reach the other couple, but, they apparently were not in their room to answer his call. How did he know to call them if it was just the 2 of us ? Anyway, by this time, with the 4 of us standing there in the dining room...apparently looking distressed...Joe B in the dining room came to our rescue..found us a table and we had a nice dinner. The check came and to top it off we were charged for 2 dinners which were included in our package. Once again Joe came to our rescue and got it straightened out. The breakfast was nice and the service was good. The staff was very friendly and worked very hard. Checkout went fine, tho they do have a bit of an odd way of billing, which the very nice lady said confused a lot of people. So in conclusion before leaving I took the time to fill out the guest survey card in great detail. When I got home I had a letter from Guest Relations, which I was thinking would address my concerns...instead it was a form letter asking that if I had anything negative to say, please contact them, before posting a review on Tripadvisor, which I did. I asked if they would please read my guest survey and then contact me and that I would wait before posting. That was 10 days ago...Just after replying to guest relations, I got an automated response that they were out of the office and would be in contact as soon as she returned. So, I waited a week and sent her another note, still no reply. Today is day 10...so I think I have been more than fair and given Faithlegg House guest relations more than enough time to address my concerns... Collapse

Recently visited Faithlegg for a special occasion. Our room was very small and compact with the bare essentials. There was only one of some of the bathroom toiletries - sharing seemed to be required. The hotel is old, and in our opinion, very barely a 4 star, tiles cracked and general wear and tear which needs repairing/updating. Had meal restaurant which was nice, but service unbelievably slow. The tables weren't set properly, cutlery etc. missing. Portions on the small size. Staff seem to be cut to less than minimum required - thus causing huge delays in between courses. The choices for breakfast were very poor for a hotel, very small breakfast area with very little to offer. Lots of people, mostly elderly and infirm were asked by the manager to leave the restaurant after presenting for breakfast, and return to the lobby (which only had 2 chairs) and wait because the vacant tables weren't set. Surely these elderly/infirm people could be allowed to sit at the tables while water/waitress set the table. There was one very pleasant/friendly/helpful waitress serving breakfast who brigtened up our mornings. The leisure facilities are good, large jacussi and very pleasant staff, Grounds are very nice and suitable for walking etc. Collapse

I am a well traveled person but this is my first review. I always intend writing reviews but by the time I get back from vacation I have either forgotten about the venue or simply lost the enthusiasm. This time I needed to correct this failing. Myself and my companion traveled Ireland recently and stayed in some lovely places. I am very accustomed to having massages across the world, but my visit to Faithlegg Spa was amazing. From the moment David greeted me before the treatment I knew I was in good hands. His lovely Irish charm and warmth was matched only by his immaculate grooming and flawless skin. Like a good pastor he clearly practices what he preaches and his youthful appearance belies his true age and experience. His massage was one of the most relaxing I have ever experienced and I can see from other reviews that I am not the only one to think this. Throughout the treatment he gently checked on my wellbeing and adjusted his approach as needed. I will certainly rate this experience as one of the best I have ever experienced in any spa or health club. The next time I vacation in Ireland I will make it a point to seek out David wherever he is. Maybe next time I can learn his secret of eternal youth. Collapse
