Me and my dog spent 3 nights at the Eviston House Hotel, while visiting Ireland. We were desperate: no one would have accepted us, for my comPAWnion is very big and the hotels were quite full. But then we got to the Eviston House Hotel, were a super sweet receptionist recieved us. Unfortunately, since everything was booked we had to switch room every night, but thank to this, I can say every room is super comfy and clean. The staff is kind and all the receptionists sooo sweet! The buffet breakfast, the Irish breakfast, was delicious, and there was a lot of choice. The position is great: right in the center of the city, near stores, pubs, restaurants and everything you would need during a holiday! There is also a little car parking of the hotel, but you won't have problems finding where to let your car if their parking is full. For sure we will come back here if we ever get back to Killarney! A special thank to Ines, the kindest receptionist I've ever met! Collapse

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my wife. We were meeting with friends from the uk who my wife hasn't seen in a long time. Our friends arrived first, paid for their room that I had booked and told the receptionist not to mention their room when we came to check in as it was a surprise. When we arrived to check in the receptionist asked if I was paying for the other room......... Surprise ruined. Anyway the room was comfortable with a great shower (located in bath which I hate). We ate in the hotel bar in what I can only describe as the worst entertainment I have ever seen in my life. Firstly the food was excellent send very tasty. Lamb Shanks were superb as was everyone else's meal. 10/10. However, having to listen to a Scottish singer trying to sing while trying to be funny was painful. Was he a comedian? Not sure. Instead of singing, he kept talking and talking, trying to be funny, he wasn't. There are some great Irish ballads that he could sing, but he could only sing the usual Paddywackery "no nay never no more" for the tourists! When we finished our dinner (we sat down late) we decided to move to the other side of the bar (the Scottish singer appeared to be emptying the place on his own) As we were leaving he shouted out "the Mitchell brothers are leaving". Personally I found that insulting. We stayed the rest of the evening/earlry morning in the bar. The staff were great. Breakfast was disappointing on the Saturday morning, I would have preferred a buffet but it was tasty. The only thing I would suggest is please, please, please stop playing terrible Irish music loudly through the speakers. Listening to Eireann pipe music at that hour is painful, and unnecessary, really over doing the irishness on that one. Spent the rest of the day/evening elsewhere. Returned late in the evening and had a quick nightcap at the bar. Again the late night staff were brilliant.we decided Togo to bed when a small group of lads decided to start a sing song between them. One lad would shout out IRA during one song. Originally from the uk, I found this distasteful and very disappointing. Breakfast next day was a buffet. They appeared to be short staffed and under pressure but did their best. Kept smiling and were polite. Will I stay here again? I don't think so, we will see. Collapse

When I say average , I would have given it good , but the next rating was very good. This hotel has a good location , especially for us as we arrived by train and didn't have to worry about parking , we were a hen party of 11 . Mostly aunts mother and cousins and of course the bride . The rooms are good , with everything you might need except only a safe . Everything is clean and tidy with tea making . There was some confusion and Agro over us not getting what we booked , I can not fault the ordinary staff who did all that they could , but the management leave a bit to be desired . particularly Jason who dismissed us , eventually things were sorted , and we had breakfast included as we didn't get the cocktail demonstration that was booked and paid for . Of course when we arrived for breakfast our name was not on the list , again a lack of communication . if I got this hotel at a good rate I would have no problem staying here for a night . Collapse

Stayed one night as part of a stag party. Room was spacious and lovely. The receptionists were so polite and very accommodating. However, for breakfast, I encountered possibly the rudest breakfast staff member ever. He did not great me when i came in but made it VERY obvious that i needed to pay for breakfast before i even sat down. He seemed to be the breakfast manager or supervisor. He seemed very grumpy and stressed. He treated all the members or the stag party like the were lower class. Collapse
