We stayed in November so it was not peak season which has a lot to do with this rating. We stayed in an apartment with 2 bedrooms. It also had a kitchen. It was nice, decor is a little dated. The beds are a little on the small size and were not as comfy. The washroom was nice however the shower could not sustain warm water for a long time. The receptionist were nice but did not go out of their way to help you out. I asked about the bus service and what to do around the area and they just gave quick answers. Buffet food was not bad but supwr pricey. As we went off peak season, La Pineda was super boring. Hardly restaurants and stores were open. Only a Grocery store and a cafe remained open throughout our stay. We got a T10 buss pass at Salou as La Pineda had nothing open. It was helpful in going to Tarragona where there is much more to see and do. The Empressa Buses are great!! Bus stops are on the main road off the beach and they all have bus schedules posted on it. We even took the Airport Bus Plana Bus to Barcelona airport which was so handy! Collapse

Stayed as a group of 2 families with 3 teenagers and very youthful octogenarian. Suitable for all age groups esp children as there was a good kids club and play park too. Short transfer from Reus airport. Situated on the sea front and only a few minutes walk to the shops of La Pineda. As it was end of season a good few were closed as was the waterpark but still enough to have a wander around. Would be more lively in mid summer. Easy transport to Barcelona, airports, Salou and Portaventura theme and waterpark - just outside the hotel. Regular fairly cheap bus service to all. Bus office just outside the complex will advise best way to travel and sell tickets. Bus to just 5 mins away from the Nou Camp for the football and returns again after 11pm so no problem getting back from a night game. Best to buy a T10 card for local bus travel (Salou and surrounding towns) as you save money on the fares. Its a plastic card you can reload and 1 card can be used for all members in your party. The bus driver just takes off the number of fares required. Can be bought and topped up in bus shop or the tobacconist shops. Locality to Portaventura is great - about 20 mins in bus which goes from door to door. As it was October park was all set up for Halloween and lots of spooky things going on. Some of the Summer shows were not on but all the rides were. The great thing at this time of year was how small the queues were - only 10 mins to get on the big rides on a weekday, but still avoid the weekend if you don't want to wait nearer 2 hours. Went for an evening visit too and kids didn't even have to get off, they just kept going round again and again. Packed lunches and drinks were allowed although bags were searched which is good as a bit pricy to eat in park. The hotel will make you a packed lunch if you ask the day before. Stayed all inclusive in a 2 bed apartment. Lost of room , cleaned every day, large fridge freezer, well stocked with utensils and best of all a washing machine!. Option to hire other items like toasters, irons etc if you want. They also arrange hire of buggies and mobility scooters if needed. Air con very good although we had to use as heating when we were there. A spell of unusually colder weather. Supermarkets nearby to stock up but the nearest one, Michelangelo, was a bit pricy and not very well stocked. Walk 5-10 mins into the town and its much cheaper with better choice and British newspapers available. All inclusive food was lovely and plenty of choice. Hotel 1 restraint was v busy at night sometimes so we went to hotel 2 which was much quieter but with the same choices. You can eat and drink in any of the 3 hotels as and when you chose with no booking. Snacks available all day 10am-11pm in all 3 hotels. Slush puppie type drinks available in hotel 3 only. All have drinks areas where you can help yourself to beer, sangria , soft drinks, tea/coffee - much quicker but in plastic glasses. All other drinks available at the bar. Staff mostly friendly, helpful and efficient in all areas. Computers can be accessed for small fee. Handy to do flight check ins and print off boarding passes to the reception if needed. Hotel was clean and well kept. Some rooms in hotel were very modern after a refit, apartments a bit dated but clean. Watch when they allocate you an apartment at reception as the numbering system was very confusing and its took us ages to find the right apartment which with luggage and kids in tow can be frustrating. Entertainment usual holiday stuff, some better than others. Free WIFI ok but the 15 euro for a week service much better. Sports facilities good with great gym, indoor pool, sauna and steam room included. You normally have to pay for tennis and padel ball but join in the sessions arranged by the animation team which are most days and free. Great to have these facilities in October when the weather wasn't as good and its was too cold to go in the outdoor pools. (you need a swimming cap for the indoors pools but they sell them for a couple of euros). Tapas bar at sports centre not included in AI but reasonably priced and a nice change. All in all a great hotel. Don't usually like to go back to the same place twice but is a great location for Barcelona and Portaventura so for these I would. Would recommend for all age groups as good varied facilities and on the flat for prams and the less mobile. Collapse

we ( my husband and I ) arrived on the 4/10/2016 for 10 days we got to hotel just before 9am our room wasn't ready ( which we didn't expect it to be ) and was told to come back at 12 but we could use AI facilities , we popped back at 11 30am and room was ready ,overlooking the golf course as we requested as they are quiet rooms . We were in hotel 2 , you could use all 3 hotels as you pleased but we ate and drank in 2 ,there was a good choice of food for all meals ( I am a fussy eater and never had a problem to find something nice to eat ), we didn't use the snack bar but had a look and there was plenty of snacks burgers ,hotdogs ,chips cheese and ham toasties a salad bar etc We didn't use the pools as prefer the beach which is a short walk and has lovely sand and is shallow and safe for children , sun loungers were 5 euros each to hire . We used the local bus service PLANA to travel about locally to Salou ,Cambrills and Taragona and are very regular and cheap .My only gripe would be at the bar you had to wait 5 mins or so which isn't bad but in peak ( summer holidays ) would be a lot longer Collapse

I visited estival park in may 2016 for a week with my family 2 adults 3 children, we had a lovely time and didn't find fault with anything (other than 2 things which I've explained below) were all fussy eaters and we all found something to eat, it's good you have a choice of 3 restaurants and the snack bar is good too, we stayed in a 2 bed apartment which was perfect I felt like I was back home, it had a fridge, washing machine, cooking utensils, Tv etc, this is a gated area so I felt safe and the use of the pool is for the people in the apartments which is nice, there are 3 hotel pools you can use but they looked way to crowded and busy for me (fault no1) the entertainment I can't comment on as it was on to late, maybe they should consider putting it on a bit earlier (fault no2) The beach is across the road the water park right next door it's in an ideal location, la Pineda is a quiet resort but you have Salou a 10 minute bus ride away, we bought a T-10 bus ticket which was well worth the money, we went on a day trip to Camp-nou which was excellent and Barcelona (la ramblas) is beautiful, When I booked this resort I was sceptical because of all the bad reviews, my family enjoyed our stay and were going back next year Collapse
