It is not really a hotel, it is more of a B & B over a pizza cafe. There definitely is no bar as described in the hotel's website. There is also no lounge unless you count a sofa and a bookcase installed on a dark first floor landing. There is something wrong with the drainage, we had to be moved after the first night because the smell from the bathroom coming from an air vent was overpoweringly sickening and unsanitory. We had to close the bathroom door so that we could sleep but using the toilet in the middle of the night was an ordeal and we were worried that we might be overcome from the fumes. We could not use it to shower the next morning and were only offered a temporary room to shower after we had insisted and then only after breakfast. No compensation was offered. The staff in the café are pleasant but need (re)training. Collapse

This Hotel habe for the price that we pay last minute the perfect location it is just in the Center I front the port. I think we get a upgrade with the room, this was very clean and big with a balcony to the port side with a wonderful view. It is very clean and the hotel staff are very competent and friendly. They have rooms to the other side without view I can't say nothing about that. I like the concept of easy going place with a nice pizza restaurant downstairs where you get breakfast and the roof top. Just one minus - the bed is fly a couple not so good. This 2 beds next to each other take the romantic flow ;-) Thank you, nice staff very helpful. Collapse

Stayed here for 7 nights on a last minute trip to PDP as our normal accommodation was booked out. I must confess I was a little unsure despite the good reviews purely because it had previously been a hostel and I was also concerned about the noise factor. Nothing to be concerned about it turns out! This place is great! If you're seeking a fancy hotel its not for you, but if you're after a spotlessly clean small quiet hotel at a fraction of the cost of others then pick Hotel Eolo. From check in to check out staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The check in desk is located in the centre of the restaurant but serves its purpose. There is a very small old style elevator to the left that sometimes you have to wait a bit for but functions perfectly and takes two people with two small suitcases. We had booked a double room with sea view balcony - and that's what we got. Yes the rooms are a little on the small side but they are spotless! Beds are comfy with extra pillows/blankets provided, good sized wardrobe with drawers and a safe, flatscreen tv with tonnes of channels, stocked minibar, great wifi and brilliant AC. The bathroom was small but perfectly functional with lovely waterfall shower, good pressure and always hot water. Toiletries were provided and towels changed everyday if you wanted. There was also a lovely handwritten welcome note and a complimentary bottle of water waiting for us which was much appreciated as it was hot and we arrived late. There was a decent sized balcony with chairs and table overlooking the street and view of the Marina, lovely to sit out on at night with a glass of wine and people watch. Other great points of this little place are the rooftop terrace - its lovely and the one cool night we had (we arrived in the midst of a heatwave!) we sat up there for a couple of hours on the comfy loungers and had drinks (you dial 9 on the wallphone, place your order and a waiter brings your drinks up to you). Fab views and lovely place to chill out. Another bonus is beach towels!! The hotel very kindly provides huge fluffy beach towels for guests at no cost or even a deposit! You can change every few days if you wish for fresh ones. Fabulous idea as we always travel hand luggage only and it means guests aren't using their bathroom towels on the beach! Breakfast was included in our very reasonable rate however unfortunately didn't get to try it - aforementioned heatwave meant we were wiped and slept too late most mornings making the most of the chilled room - however I did go down just as it was finishing up one morning and even though it was end of service there were still plenty of items; lots of pastries, yoghurts, cheeses, meats and the usual eggs/bacon/hashbrowns - certainly seemed plentiful and decent. In short this hotel will be our "go to" hotel if ever stuck again. To be honest we've stayed in the Daina across the road once before also and there really was no discernible difference in either the size of room or quality of service. The only thing is the furnishings may be a bit less plush (though all new and super clean) and there is no pool..and very narrow corridors!! But otherwise its a perfectly acceptable alternative for a fraction of the price. I would however recommend booking the larger "sea view with balcony" rooms as we did glance at some other rooms during cleaning service some mornings and some were tiny! However the hotel website clearly draws attention to the various options and prices accordingly. Despite the central location there was no noise once doors were closed, in fact we had some of the best nights sleeps. The last couple of nights there was a particularly loud family in one of the rooms next door and we could hear them talking (shouting as such) but otherwise we didn't notice any other noise or "thin wall" issues during our stay. Would have zero hesitation recommending this hotel as an excellent budget option - lovely rooms, lovely staff and great location! Collapse

We booked this place mainly due to location and price and as the hotel had recently had a refurb it seemed to be a clear choice. It's location is perfect. Breakfast is tasty, restaurant at night for guests and non guests was popular. Rooms clean and staff great. I would pay extra next time tho as we made the obvious error of not booking a room with balcony but it did t bother us this one time. Collapse
