We had a great stay! Centrally located. Great staff and great rooms. Complementary breakfast and evening unwind were greatly appreciated especially with all the walking one does in DC. Thank you for making us feel at home.

As the other reviews say, this hotel is spectacular! We are a family of five with 3 under the age of 6. We could not have found a better hotel! Each and EVERY staff member was kind, helpful, friendly and hard-working. This made the stay memorable. The "extras" that most hotels don't offer, are actually a big deal. The free breakfast is inclusive of nearly every breakfast food option available! Get there early for decent seating choices and no lines for made-to-order, by the hotel makes that very clear with the"breakfast traffic levels" posted in the rooms. Happy hour is AMAZING! Complimentary drinks - soft and alcoholic with kiddie cocktails for the kiddies and a variety of snacks. It was perfect. And with 3 little ones, we brought our drinks up to our room which worked well. The rooms are clean, spacious and laid out well. We looooved having a door to the. Rdroomso wd could stay up past the kids' bedtime! Many other hotels say "suites" but don't explain that the separation is a 1/2 wall and not a door. We definitely dig the door. The location was even better than expected! With a short walk to Dupont Circle, a park a black away, and the Mall less than 2 miles, we walked everywhere!!With our 3 kids jammed on and off our stroller. It was really convenient. The only two drawbacks were that the pool and waterfall/coi pond were closed due to a plumbing issue (but they did let us use another hotel pool a block away) and that our bathroom was a bit mildewy on day 2. Needs better ventilation. We already recommended this hotel 3 times and we just checked out yesterday! This is the way all hotels should be. Kudos, Embassy Suites! Collapse

Just wanted to give a shout out to the very hardworking staff in the food court area. From the table wait staff to the bartenders to the cooks, everyone was so friendly, kind, considerate, hard working and just a pleasure. These people hustled! I think the Embassy Suites management should be very proud of this dedicated team. On another note, I have a sight issue with Happy Hour, but don't know if I'm being too critical or not. It's a Happy Hour, in the bar area. There were tons of kids around this past weekend. Now that's NOT a bad thing, but seats were scarce and few and far between. I understand that you can't ban kids, nor should they be banned, but how about having some stack-able kid sized chairs that could be utilized during this time period? By taking away seating from a paying guest to accommodate a six year old, somehow that doesn't make sense. I'm sure I'd get bashed for this, but I'm sure I'm not the first person who has thought about this. Collapse

What was good: very nice breakfast with omelet stations and many breakfast choices. But make sure you get there before 7:00 am. Packed after that time. Nice afternoon reception but extremely crowded. Always like the two room set up. Hotel was clean. What wasn't so good: tepid shower. No hot water. Only three elevators and one wasn't working so you waited sometimes for 15 minutes for an elevator. Very few restaurants within reasonable walking distance. Very difficult getting out of the parking garage. Concierge was never at their desk. Had to repeatedly go to front desk for assistance. Afternoon reception nice but extremely crowded. So it just wasn't worth waiting in line for anything. Collapse

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in a long time! We had a very nice, huge room that included a little wet bar area and an office area. The breakfast in the morning was amazing and rivaled some buffet style brunches that we've paid for. I mean, omlete stations and chefs cooking the eggs and bacon right in front of you? In addition, there is a happy hour in the evening with FREE beer/wine/soft drinks and bar snacks like nachos, fresh veggies & dip and cheese and crackers. We basically had two of our daily meals free with the room price! Plus, it's a great location far enough outside of the touristy downtown area, but a quick $8 Uber ride away from everything you want to see. The only problem we had was that one of the three elevators was out while we were there. Not an issue during the week, but once the weekend hit, people were waiting around a while, especially during the peak breakfast times. Collapse
